A nice comfy bed for her to sleep in. A cute little food bowl just for her. A...bone? "Hmph", Kaori thought. "Wierdo. What kind of pet owner thinks that cats like to play with doggie bones?" She supposed that perhaps she could play with her new owner's "bone" later, but first she wanted to catch some sleep. She'd had a long day playing and sunning herself in the shelter's window and could use a nap...might as well use this nice big bed? Something seemed off though. It had a faint smell that seemed oddly familiar, and it definitely wasn't a new bed. "Oh well," she thought as she drifted off to sleep, "I'll let this guy know that this won't do. Tomorrow though."
Deep in her slumber she didn't hear the click-clack of paws coming closer. Kaori was correct in deducing that it wasn't an old bed...but she was incorrect that it was *her* bed. It was Brutus's. And he didn't take well to interlopers.
