Upgrading my PC again
Added 2023-09-13 23:47:24 +0000 UTCTLDR: I tried to install an ssd and the process is complicated.
If you were on my discord server, I was doing some trial-and-error with the ssd I bought last night. At first, I thought it's going to be simple as inserting a ram. After I insert the ssd, turned on the pc and I was greeted with the first barrier. I pressed the buttons to boot up the menu, but it does not respond. Restarting does not help. If I remove the ssd, it works fine. I reached out to my discord group for suggestions and one guy had suggested that I should boot up OS via usb.
So I did what they suggest and was greeted with another barrier; the partitions. As far as I know from the youtube tutorials, my files will be deleted forever once I remove the partitions. Thankfully, I had an external hard drive I got to move all of necessary files. In order to move those files, I got to clone it. Once I downloaded a third-party application, I proceed with the cloning. Right before I start, a pop-up appears; it said that the drive I am using for the cloning will be overwritten. That means my files - the blend files, the steam files, etc - will be deleted also. SO what I'm going to do is to get another external hard drive specifically for the cloning the OS.
As I was typing this, I am going to do this another day. The reason I am doing this because my PC is running slow. A minor upgrade with a complex process. I appreciate that one person on my dc server to guide me through this and making my time of the day less of a headache. Anyway, sorry for this big ass wall of text, I am updating you what's going on.
