January so far (Hi-res)

Some stuff from January so far! A sketch paint-up for an old friend going by a new friend, Einherjri, of the id, ego, and super ego of the new character. A very, very large demon corrupting a new universe for Sombreve! And a doodle I did of Goolashe and myself, with a... great little habit he has practically every time we lie in bed together.

Been a bit slower than normal, learning Clip Studio Paint for the first chunk of the month, and I think it shows a little bit in these pieces. Especially their backgrounds. BUT, we're finally finding some grip for the spinning wheels, and speeding up a bit. I figured I would place them all together since they were finished roughly at the same time.

MAN.

Clip Studio is a little clunky when you're needing to do... Well... foliage and such, huh. But it's great for figures and vague things like space or clouds!!

So, first things first. YUP. That's a beepis, as the kids say. With the turn of the new year, I hit my limit when thinking about my alternate account on Twitter. Internet's getting cruddier, AI spreading everywhere, criminals leading polls... So who cares if I draw a giant dong and post it on main? Screw it. This mirrored Som's growth as a person as well, no pun intended, and sort of why the leaning pose was re-used (and also because whoop i like drawing men lying back i guess) -- embracing their interests, even if NSFW, and more of what they want to put out into the world that they are interested in. Again, no pun intended. So Som's piece was sort of a character growth for both of us, in a way.

Ein's piece hit more of a technical wall rather than a philosophical one. Ein's been through a lot over the years, and this new hare character is meant to be a way to reflect his approaches to the world, being someone who has worked in security and has an interest in guns and gun culture, but is such a sweetheart and caring person. I, on the other hand... Man, Clip and its settings aren't quite clicking for me just yet for big backgrounds. I really, really gotta either figure out what settings I need to tweak for them, OR really break my brain and habits a little on how I approach backgrounds. I think I get so wrapped up on wanting to detail, then even little things like leaves or branches, I want to paint. There was so much back and forth, painting and repainting. So, that's going to need... a fair amount of study...

The Goolashe doodle? It's... uh... well i need to post more doodles and get out of the "always finished pieces" mindset. Baby steps. I'm a little embarrassed by it but. It's out there! People seem to enjoy it. So shut up, brain.

Things have been a little stressful otherwise. But we're surviving. With help from you guys. Seriously, every little bit is greatly appreciated by us. It makes stuff like groceries so much easier to handle, which allows me to keep trying to push forward, like with learning a new program, or getting large paintings like these out there.
