A D&D character line-up for an old, good friend from back home. A group that he DMs for!
gasp shock horror HOOMAN? DROW? WHAT? I know! It's been a... while since I drew like... actual humanoid faces! That and splitting my time between four characters, whoof, this project took me a bit and gave me a challenge in a few spots. But I'm really happy with the result, AND I got to dip my feet into D&D content more, so the challenge was more than welcome.
Thank you, Ben, for trusting me to work with you, and trusting me with your group! <3
(Did Patreon remove tags for posts? ... did... did they somehow make the background even MORE white? oh god my eyes)

Yup, there was another bit of a gap between works. Sorry about that. And thanks for still hanging around!
I'm finally not feeling like everything is overwhelming and crushing. Goolashe has found an internship here locally, and while it's not a lot of hours, it's at least something, so some of the stress will get a little lighter. I'm still going to try to keep my stuff moving as much as I can though, minus burning out.
This piece started with a lot of hesitation. Worries over working for an old, old friend (hi ben!) and wanting to impress, while simultaneously feeling like my stuff isn't worthwhile, completely unrelated to that anxiety working for someone I know personally. I tried starting this in Rebelle and it kind of set me up for failures at specific points down the line during this piece that I also had to work my way through -- paper textures that Painter was not able to handle elegantly once exported back, impasto that wouldn't clear at times, and at one point, losing a few hours of work due to a crash. I think that last one wasn't related to Rebelle, of course, but was still a hair-pulling moment at the end of a 6 hour work day...!
I work with single characters so much that I think I also underestimated my workload, which is on me, not on Ben at all. Splitting my efforts out between four characters while trying to rein my brain in to not get overly detailed and picky... There was a tug of war I had to fight with, and it's something I don't do often! With a single character, I'm able to dig in and go nuts and let time fly but doing that with one character, when three more are waiting... Oops. I think if you really dig in and explore the higher res, you might find a spot or two like that where you can probably see the mental gears stopping and me moving on. I think they are small enough to not be noticed on the grand, full scale, but it's something I know I need to work on.
I have another piece I'll upload in a day or two. Finished a piece for Enigma, as well! So swordsman wolf number two will be in your notifications to look at soon. Thank you all again so much for sticking with me even during slow periods. I truly, deeply appreciate it. We'd be in so much more stress if it weren't for your help. All of my love, ya'll. Take care. Stay safe out there. <3
