Black Hole Mage (Hi-Res)

Sometimes you wield an incredible amount of power in the form of a  conjured black hole. Other times, you just show off a little with it.

A  painting for Mechanodragon of FA! Myst here was another fun one to  paint up. It also lined up coincidentally with Goolashe recently  watching a lot of videos about space and black holes on the side, so  space was already on the mind. 'Course I'm gonna paint up a great  character who can also wield the power of a black hole. Uh, duh. I'm  predictable that way~

Being serious though, this was also my  first real attempt at trying to streamline some of my process, in having  a background split for a while from the character, and how I lay color  over my grayscale on the figure. I'm not... a hundred percent sure it  worked.I mean, it felt a bit cleaner than my usual one layer approach,  but I think it also made things a little messier in some areas that took  extra time for me to clean up and make right. Perhaps I just need more  practice with it? It's hard to say. I'm so used to my one layer method  that by the halfway point on this piece, I was already back to it, so I  can't tell if I didn't keep things split for long enough, or waited too  long before merging things.

Regardless, I'm still pretty  happy with the results here. I think Myst came out looking pretty great,  if I can say so myself. Hopefully ya'll feel the same. c: Thank you,  Myst, for trusting me with your guy, as well as for your patience!  Enjoy, ya'll.

Phew. This should catch me up. So a lot has happened in the past month! Obviously, a lot of art, and a lot of hours trying to keep things moving and rolling.

Goolashe is thinking of quitting his job, so I will be our primary income for a little bit while he either job hunts or returns to school to try and widen his skillset. That's part of why I have so many things to show all at once, and hopefully even more shortly, as I have at least one painting in the works, another lined up, a project for DoC, and a commission sheet you guys will get first peek at when it's complete with thanks to Draugvorn in advance for the help.

It's been a bit stressful. We're doing okay, but please know that when I say thank you for the support, I truly do mean it. Every little bit has helped us with this decision, and staying afloat a little bit easier. We truly can't thank you enough for that.

On that end, I'm also looking to update my INPRNT shortly, so anything that you've seen recently that you might be interested in may show up on there. Of course, if one -doesn't- get added but you think you'd want a print of it, please feel free to reach out and I will get it added! I will be updating it either later this evening (today's kind of an administrative day, as you can probably guess), or this weekend, depending on work load.

I also want to start streaming again. I know I keep saying it but. I think I was stressing myself out. I keep seeing people making "VTubers" and having crazy redeems and soundboards and I just... I don't think that's me. I think I was more comfortable when it was just me, an audience, and maybe a small noise or two for any rare alerts. That's more my vibe, my speed. So I'm also gonna be scaling back my Twitch layout and noises, and then try to maybe get back into that. Perhaps without a microphone at first, though, to try and most easily ease myself into it.

Otherwise, my only plan is just... More work! Like I mentioned, when the commission sheet is updated and done, I will share it here first to give you guys (and some friends) a heads-up about it if you want to take first dibs on a very small selection of slots that I want to just make into a revolving door. Maybe 3 slots that, when one piece is complete, someone else can jump in and take the end of the queue, and just keep things cycling and juggling alongside other work.

But that's all speculation. I'm mostly just trying to sort my stuff out in order to make this transition into being the main income between myself and my husband a little smoother. That's my priority. And I cannot thank you guys enough for the help on that front. Seriously, it's been so helpful. Most of your contributions have gone to helping with things like groceries or small bills that come up, and it's been such a relief. I hope to continue to provide stuff to make at least the hi-res worth it. A bit thank you from both Goolashe and me for your help in that regard.
