A book cover for Ilkarin of FA!
First time doing something like this. Trying to remember there would be text placed over the image made for some initial worries as I started painting, second-guessing if I was accounting for a book alright. I'm still rather happy with the result, even though the work got split in half due to various events, and I think it kind of shows a little if you get really deep in there and look. That said, I did my best to try to hide any passing of time and keep it all uniform!
Thank you to Ilkarin for trusting me with your guys and gals once again, and for letting me work with you! I had a lot of fun on this one even despite everything going on, and I hope it shows. Enjoy, guys. c:

Well it's been a hot minute, huh. Sorry about that. I smashed my hand up, then had to travel for a convention I wasn't able to do anything for, then caught Covid. weeee Regardless, I'm home and working my butt off to try and get through this queue.
I -am- proud of this piece for being something new, but I think the amount of time it took me due to life events really, really shows. Maybe it's because I've been looking at it for so long. I did the background and the wolf first, then wasn't able to work, and then came back to do the bug and dragon. That's the main split, I think. I was also just a bit overwhelmed in general, from a lot of different things unrelated to this, that I think show in my brushwork.
In some ways, it's sort of shameful to me. I AM proud of the work, but I also feel like it's a dip down from the last piece, and I never want to do that to people if I can help it. But it's something new, and I still did (what I think) is a good job for the prompt, so I know it'd make her proud too. I'm gonna try and keep pushing that energy forward.
I'm nearly done with another piece, a big muscled dragon. So you'll hear from me again in the next few days. Thank you guys for being so patient with me. <3 Stay safe out there. COVID is still floating about, even despite it being summer. I hope you enjoy this piece, and I'll see you again soon!
