This one was fun. TONS of tun. I didn't expect to enjoy doing a pin-up so much -- like, don't get me wrong, they are enjoyable to me no matter when or where I get them, but something about Leo's here was just a pure treat to do. It's one of the first times I've stepped more obviously over the line into NSFW territory while still feeling like I've done something that I'm both proud of and unashamed of. 

I harbor a lot of sheltered and worried thoughts and fears over NSFW imagery, despite the fandom a lot of my work resides in. This is compounded by being gay -- growing up, I know I remember seeing on TV or in movies that things of LGBT natures are something to be either mocked, scorned, or hidden away. Couple THAT with how much of my career was spent trying to get into entertainment industries and building a skillset that might open those doors for me, even though they no longer interest me as much, and you can see how I find NSFW something anxious.

But this... This was the first time I think that worry has been quiet. Leo was incredibly patient with me, and even though some of my brushwork and color is still a bit muddy, I'm so proud of this. This is something I can put in a portfolio and not be ashamed that it's there -- yes, seriously. I know that's a big deal for me. But I'm also 30 years old now. I think I know what I want. And I want to appreciate the human figure, whether or not that's mixed with anthropomorphism or not. Besides, look at that torso -- can you really blame me? ;) It was a slower job than I would have liked, sure... But I'm so happy I did it. It turned out both beautifully, in my opinion, and really helped me sort of look inward and sort some things out in my head.
