Commune with Spirits (Hi-Res + Extra Thoughts)

This is the hi res (3600 px tall)! Thank you so much, guys.

A grayscale for Draganta! Tyrax seems to have found another lost soul. The afterlife is vast, but they don't need to brave it alone.

God, this one was so much fun. ; ;! I'm almost sort of sad it's complete. Tried zooming in way more than normal in parts, up to 100%, to  really try and render some parts out how I wanted. Which sounds like  nothing, but that's a big shift for me, always working so zoomed out to  see the whole canvas. I think it was mostly worth it, but it also shows I  haven't quite yet found the right brush setting for me for that. c:

I think this one sort of speaks for itself, so I'll keep it brief. Thank you, Draganta, for letting me work with you again!! Enjoy, guys.

Is this what it's like to really enjoy a piece!? I dunno if it's a mood swing or something about this one just hit every button for me, but I found myself with a TON of energy and drive for this one. Even streamed again on one day, which I've been hesitant to do, due to anxiety over it. Every part of this, from the sketch to the end, was smooth and fun. That's so nuts for me.

Normally my thumbnails make me stumble, or the "ugly phase" of a painting makes me want to move on to the next piece and come back later. In some cases, I need to, but that never happened here. Just plowed through, longer work days than normal... Even gave Draganta some extra time because I was having too much fun.

I said it in the normal text, but to expand on it here: It really is so crazy for me to zoom in so far. In college, I was taught to always step back, work at arm's length, or in digital to work while able to see the full canvas. I find doing so is more comfortable, BUT I keep thinking my stuff is too blurry or messy brush-wise when said and done. I worked at 100% in the pants, the face, and some of the magic above him. I think it shows. Some of those areas came out crisp, if I can say so myself! I need to do this more. It does slow me down a little, but that's probably because it's foreign to me.

I also need to find a better blender. I am a bit sad that a brush I want to try is a Procreate-only feature. No way to port it into Painter or Photoshop on PC, even though you can buy it online. Will need to experiment with a few categories I haven't really dug into much, see if there's a hidden gem somewhere in that massive list Painter comes with that I never touch.

Anyways, time to design a character/species, and paint a dragon! Enjoy, guys. Thank you again so much for your continued support, especially in these weird times. Cheers.
