Soul Harvest - Patreon Early Release

Hey, guys!

So here is the new book!

If you read the preview, not much changed in the first couple chapters EXCEPT there is a new Prologue and a flashback before chapter 2. The rest is the same if you don't want re-read the spicey scenes for some reason. :P

As always, please post or message me any typos/errors you find. The audio crew is getting started on this right away (Monday!) so feel free to report as you find so I can make any fixes lol.

Thanks to everyone for their support and I hope you enjoy it!

Edit 6/20: removed for book 3. You can find it on Amazon or pledge at a higher tier for the anthology!

There is this thing called "fridge logic" where something seems like it makes sense at first, while you are watching or reading, but when you get up to go to the fridge, and are no longer engrossed in the story, and you are free to think about it independently, suddenly you notice issues with the plot or world-building. For instance, you're watching a MCU movie and it's all good and fine. Then, Fridge Logic: "Hey wait, if there are infinite universes, why can't Wanda just find one where her alternate self died and left her children as orphans, and take her place, solving two sets for problems! They made Wanda into a villain so she could fight with Dr Strange!" Or a fantasy TV show and you feel bad about the heroine's tribulations and then Fridge Logic: "Why would Sansa ever marry a Bolton in the first place? What does she get out of it? All this does is help the family that murdered her mom & brother and sent assassins after her little brother, to legitimize stealing her family's stuff! Why would Littlefinger arrange the marriage? If he wants to control the North, he already has Sansa, marrying her to the Boltons only gives them an advantage in keeping the North! They made the marriage happen just to make Sansa suffer!" Or when you are reading a much better written book series. And there is a horrific danger in the world-building where unborn babies are particularly vulnerable to the Bad Thing in the setting, and can thus doom their mothers as well. And you think "What an amazing twist on the concept of magic curses and dangers, adding an uncommon form of body horror! And the author even references how it changes women's approaches to reproduction and society's reaction to the effects on their population. It add poignancy to the female characters' views on motherhood and relationships!" And then along comes Fridge Logic, which has read everything Sarah Hawke has ever published and tells you "Hey wait! This is all just in there to justify oral, anal and bukkake!" Pretty damn slick.

Thanks! Fixing them now

In Ch 17, right after Zaelya attacks Kormak, Duncan says "I channel more healing energy into my wounds." Everything else in the book is past tense. In the Epilogue, the first sentence with Jewel has her "soaked white-goal robes" She is also watching "Zaeyla" at one point, when Duncan is thinking how impressive she is. In the last section of the epilogue: "Jewel and Vess were both huddled in a tent nearby to try and get some rest while also give Zaelya and I space." Optimally, it should be "try to" but that's common usage, and it's first person narration, so ok, but the rest of the sentence should be "givING Zaelya and ME space" Near the end there's "I glanced back over my shoulder to where I placed Sacrothyr protectively..." it should be "...where I HAD placed..." Sorry these were the only ones I remembered, it's only the last ones, because I couldn't stop to note the others. You can't beta read a story you really like on the first go-round, because you don't want to drop out of it to note errors.

A fantasy author who knows the difference between an arming sword, bastard sword and great sword! Speaking of which, is the abandoned town they come to where Kithani is working the forge, the one between Canith Mir & Blackreach on the big map and the couple of buildings in the northwest corner of the Grey Moors map?
