Good stuff so far. It occurs to me that getting the whole harem together might be more of a headache for Alamir than dealing with Krynn. Sariss' fundamentalist beliefs are not going to be all that compatible with Tyris' human parentage & culture, and Lathriel's choice between Alamir and the Sarodhim is going to be complicated by the fact that she's hooked on their magic and susceptible to the Wasting Echo. Although it seems like making her a Sensoi or binding with her Dal Rethi style might alleviate that, I'm not all that down on the mechanics. Plus, I don't see Alamir being super thrilled with his drow concubine when he realizes that she was a spy for his mother the whole time (at least that's what I assume from little hints here and there in her behavior in the first book, in hindsight following Alamir's recognition/recollection of her as the operative who hired him to find Tyris). And then there is Sabari & her unseen but alluded to djinn partner, both of which are new creatures to this setting, so there is no telling how they would feel about joining a harem full of elves & half-elves, or what a highborn priestess, feyn Sarodhim cultist or half-elf Vorskai sorceress thinks of their kind. But as a great genre writer whose stories also don't fade to black and feature polyamorous draconic royalty, once said "the only stories worth writing are about the human heart at war with itself."
