Poll: Update on the Foreseeable Future

Hey, guys! In the interests of full transparency, I wanted to give everyone an update here at the end of the month and address the elephant in the room for my future plans. That way, if you aren't happy about the current direction, you can decide whether or not you wish to continue supporting me before you get charged for another month.

As someone who has always been right on the bubble, able to pay my bills (thanks to patrons!) but with very little wiggle room, the success of Incursion has been a real game-changer. In just one month, it has sold more copies than most entire series I've written with all the books combined. I'm still a little bit in shock, but this is obviously a great opportunity I don't want to squander.

But here's the rub: the downside of that success means that, at least for the moment, I would be sabotaging my career and personal finances to write anything else. That means that other ongoing projects like Blade of Highwind and White Throne need to go into a holding pattern for the foreseeable future. I just can't afford to spend time writing them right now, especially since I have this audio book contract for The Lost Fleet series.

However, I know that people support me for many reasons, some because they enjoyed old school stuff, some because they enjoy newer stuff, some because they are just happy to support me in general! I know not everyone is into Sci-Fi, I'm trying to figure out a way to maybe split the difference a bit.

My current idea is to slowly work on a second project in the background, basically gradually writing something else (and occasionally dropping samples) without committing the entire two months+ of work up front. I'd probably start a bit after Insurrection is finished.

With that in mind, I thought I would drop a poll and see what folks would be most interested in me doing next, given the choice.  I know you guys decided earlier (pretty convincingly) to finish BoH before White Throne, so I have kept that in mind!

The "Dragon Bride Redux" entry is something we have discussed in Discord a fair bit. It's basically a spiritual successor to Dragon Bride/Elf Slave, a darker, bondage-heavy story of a faeyn/wood elf girl taken into the service of a Wyrm Lord, kind of a younger Selvhara. Most of his other wives hate her, and I envision some femdom scenes of the wives "Training her" with plenty of other maledom scenes. Basically, she gets dominated a lot! (and likes it)

As always, thank you tremendously for your support! I never would have been in this position at all without you guys, especially those of you that have been around since the start!!

Love,
Sarah

I've been following you for a few years now and I'm happy you are getting so much recognition. Honestly I really like the new series, honestly anything with more yarasi would be a huge plus. :P

Thanks!

I joined you because Incursion was my first intro to you, but have really enjoyed The Wrath of The Spider Queen and will continue to get to your other works. As far as what you write next, I would never stand in the way of anyone's success and think you should concentrate on the Incursion series. If it just so happens to be what I like, well that's just lucky for me I guess :)! By the way, I am most way thru your first chapters of the new book and really like it! I will comment on it once I am finished. Thanks as aways for writing! I'm very happy for your success!!

While not a fan of Sci-fi, I too have greatly enjoyed Incursion. Glad to know it sold so well!

Thanks!

Considering how much I'm loving the Seraph series more than the Blades of Highwind so far I really have no problem with this. Keep the space harem going!

Ribonizer

Write what makes you happy Sarah and I'll support it.

Joe Johnson

As much as I want to read a followup to Elf Slave, I think I'd like to see how BoH turns out even more.

Jeff
