Idea Brainstorm

So while I finish up Wrath here (maybe by the weekend?) I thought I would share some future ideas I've had recently! This is in addition to the stuff you already know about like continuing SoS and White Throne.
I'm not normally someone who gets ideas from dreams like the cliché goes, but a few weeks ago it actually happened to me for the first time. I must have been glancing at Reinbach's Romantic World comic because I had a funny thought - what if the Highwind universe were a sexy high school drama?
The basic idea would probably involve following a new student (Jorem!) around North Reach High as he discovers all the secret drama and magic behind the scenes. It would involve silliness like Kaseya the hot foreign exchange student, Valuri the goth girl, Cassel the captain of the football team, Serrane the cheerleader...all told in ongoing short monthly serials.
Anyway, I'm still undecided if this is the stupidest idea I've ever had...or something that would be hilarious and fun. I need to give it a lot more thought, but I figured I would share the idea and see what everyone thought!

2021-01-23 03:05:23 +0000 UTCI think of Serrane as more of an athlete herself than a cheerleader. Probably in a less glamorous sport or sports. She can't get on the football team (The Paladins) because the jerks don't allow girls. However all the other sports teams are fine with girls, so Serrane is the captain of all them. Baseball, field hockey, lacrosse, track and field, you name it. And I'd put Cassel as second string quarter back who has to take over half way through the season. So the team can be jerks as a group but Cassel can still be a decent guy. Also it could be fun to play around with characters interacting here who never (or almost never) did in the books. Did Jorem ever actually meet Cassel outside of the big boss fight?

2021-01-14 02:16:39 +0000 UTCI think a new set of characters would be better. Maybe a look into student life at Highwind Academy. Which students got to fuck the Headmistress and how did they get to that point? A different perspective that could still be canon.

But I have confidence that SH could pull this off and build in enough plot to keep it interesting. For example, Buffy took place in a high school setting, and it went on for 7 seasons. I'm especially intrigued by "all the secret drama and magic behind the scenes" she mentioned. But as long as there's drama and stakes and character chemistry, I'd definitely be interested!

While I really love his artstyle, the comic "storyline" has gone nowhere and there's hardly any different that doing a "in this chapter, character X fucks character Y in a Z way". Everyone fucks everyone. Honestly, I'd rather see you expand the universes that you already have going on, or start something new, than investing time in a school drama that will quickly run out of a plot, imho.

2021-01-13 20:01:01 +0000 UTCIt would be cool if it was a magic academy they went to school at but set to modern day ... and they would be training to fight monsters that appear and instead of football games they could have sword and a magic tournament too...then Jorem would still be able to use magic and Kaseya and Valuari would somehow get tied to him and Kaseya would still get to use a spear or sword ... cause it would be like a magic knight academy... lol and then jorem gets stuck as Cassell roommate or Kaseya does by accident ... and Valeri gets involved as a rival student for Kaseya to get a spot on his squad too ....just an idea
