End of June update + new character!

In other news, I wanted to share a new character concept for a story I've been outlining for a while. The initial concept is set in the region east of Highwind where a bunch of nobles just finished a civil war. Think of something like Skyrim with the jarls and provinces fighting to be high king.
Anyway this is Delaryn Whitefeather, the "trophy wife" of the new high king who is a lot more than she appears. I will share more details later, but here is the tease!

I'll be curious so see how the destruction of the last Velhari might have been felt out there. Does this mean she has to be a sorceress if she wields magic? Up to now, Highwind and everything around it seems to have existed in a bubble. No Conduits traveled there, they had their own gods and religions, and they periodically had to fight off Roskarim hordes. It made them seem a bit isolated. There wasn't much mention of trade with other lands, or of other kings and governments. I'm curious if the Roskarim might be related to this eastern region. I'm also curious to find out how Delaryn's adventures might overlap with Jorem and the crew. (And I feel a bit of trepidation at the idea that the crew's story may soon end.) Where are the elves in all of this? I always assumed they were out east. What I'd really like to see are more centers of civilization, places with thriving cities and cultures to rival Highwind. It's easier to want to go out and explore the world if I don't feel that Highwind is the only hospitable place in it. I also really hope to see a rich backstory for Delaryn woven into her narrative. Where'd she come from, who decided she had to be a trophy wife, how does she feel about that, what's her secret, what are her flaws, strengths, likes, dislikes, maybe a hobby, and so on. Much as I love sexy times, character arcs are nice, too.

I hope it's the story is something along the lines of the trophy wife has been the one in charge all along, not the high king. By the way, I've been meaning to ask, you've been expanding the universe quite a bit, a seeing that there's magic and stuff, does our Earth exist in the same cosmos as HIghwind? :o
