Legacy of Winter - Release!

Hey!

At long last, i just sent out the new book to everyone who sponsored it Nov 1st. If you don't see it in your inbox for any reason, please let me know!

I have a poll idea for later this week where I will write up a blurb on a few different alternate projects and see which one is the most popular.

It's possible! :) As to your other point, not everything will be resolved in TAP 6. In the current outline it isn't even set in Highwind at all! But this storyline will be relevant in the next "season" (which i still need a name for...The Amazon's Something). The Valuri solo book will probably be in between.

...Well, if you’re just gonna say it flat out... I’ll clarify that I meant that final twist where it turns out that her seeming benevolence is actually a facade for the dark chess master beneath, and that she’s absolutely the kind of person who’d kill a bunch of somewhat-decent people in a naked power grab. More that I’d know the kind of person and character that she is rather than plot stuff, which I had heard earlier.

I can definitely see why you would think that, since Solemi (and Derec) are introduced in the Spider Queen books, but the SQ series really has nothing to do with this storyline. I think everything important gets referenced in TAP (she was captured by the drow and learns enchantment and illusion magic). Though maybe I'm forgetting something.

...So, now that it's been out for a bit, and I feel I can obliquely tip-toe around some spoilers... I wonder if I'd've seen that last big twist coming if I'd read that other series you've done that sure *sounds* like that one character's origin story. There *is* a massive flaw in said character's plan, namely, their physical proximity to people who can ignore their major line of defense and just kill them, but I guess they're banking on the team needing their help too much to do that. Anyway, good job with that last twist, even if it makes some of the book feel like the wheels're spinning without going anywhere, and puts a somewhat-sour taste in my mouth. Not sure if the present story arc is gonna resolve in the next title, but if so, whew. 's gonna have to pack a lot into a little space.
