Yet another TAP Cover!

Hey, all. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Courtesy of Reinbach, here's the latest cover art I'll be using for TAP 5 and 6. I actually started drafting a DFF#3 as well, but I haven't quite decided which one I'm going to finish first yet.

The plan for TAP is 6 volumes, then a break before starting another set with a slightly different name (The Amazon's [Something]). I am also debating whether or not I want to shift the point of view. I think the male pov has worked pretty well, but maybe it would be interesting to see things from the perspective of one of the girls. People seem to like them more or less equally based on the poll. (And for Telanya fans, don't worry - she'll be back in 5). :)

Assuming this monthly charge thing works, new folks will get stuff in a few days here. Make sure you check the reward tiers and let me know what you want via PM. :)

If you've had a chance to read Daughter of Destiny, do you have any comments on where the story is heading?

Yet another TAP Cover!

Eh, it's fine. Didn't feel like a shill, just an honest request for some feedback, and I felt compelled to explain why I wasn't givin' it. At the end of the day, I'druther just you do you.

SpectralTime

Asha is definitely an anti-heroine; it's kind of like a Sith lesbian sex coven. =P But some of the ideas in that book made it into parts of TAP. I wasn't trying to shill, though. Thanks for your support regardless! I know not everyone will enjoy every book. :)

Eh, I don't mind finally seeing the lech in the flesh. Just curious because it's something that's been described an awful lot in the story, but which I'm not completely certain how to picture in my head. You could probably do both. Especially if she menaced him when they first met, which, all things considered, she probably did. I have not read Dragon Bride. Honestly, it sounded a bit... dreary for my tastes, just from the summary? I mean, in the description none of the cast sound like particularly likable characters I'd enjoy reading about the sex lives of. Like I said, I'm not sure I'll be super into a lot of the rest of your work. Heck, since I'm mostly indifferent to a number of the fetishes involved, there are not-insignificant chunks of The Amazon's Pledge that I'm not into. But that's okay. You aren't writing for me, specifically. I respect that.

SpectralTime

I figured this hypothetical cover would probably have her and Jorem. Or I'll leave his appearance a mystery. Maybe a closer up shot of her with the ol' eyes and tats glowing thing. Out of curiosity, have you read Dragon Bride?

Sarah Hawke

That... would be weirdly sweet, actually. Just that, for all that she's a girl who likes her freedom, he's the guy she likes most, and it manifests that way. Or something. I don't know. Do wish we could get to see her with the tattoos out in at least some of the art. But I guess that's probably expensive when there's already a second character on the cover. Maybe in the hypothetical prequel...

SpectralTime

Well, the "A Wizard Did It!" defense actually kind of works with him! =P I should really make a joke about this in the future prequel with he and Val. Maybe that's where her fetish comes from!

Sarah Hawke

...So, since this page *also* asked for theories, I'm going to lay a few out there. I don't think *most* of the moshalim know about the whole deal. You know the one. The really spoiler-y one. Just because, frankly, it beggars my belief that *none* of them would spill the beans if it were the case, especially since the nature of the bond makes it seem like the kind of thing that would probably cause deep emotional connection between the two parties involved, culture of slavery or no. Also, if they do make the trip to Nol Krovos for the last leg of this story, I'm going to assume two things will make their appearance that haven't been mentioned for a while: the fact that Kaseya is disgraced if she returns without restoring her family honor and bringing back her sister, and Hestiah, who was apparently due to link up with her designated partner and put it on hold to follow her friend. Presumably, the former will create drama, but the latter will present a way out of it. ...Also, speaking as a person who's attatched to some, there's no way Jorem's testicles *don't* have some kind of magical enhancement at work. Just, seriously. It might even explain the libido that constantly shames him.

SpectralTime

...Wow. A rapid response. That's... kind of intimidating and leaves me all self-conscious. Aw well. Thanks for it anyway. Not sure how much of your work I'll actually pick up besides this, since a lot of it seems a bit outside my strike zone, but I appreciate the effort that seems to have gone into making it all one big interconnected thingummy. I assume. I mean, just from the "By the same author" page.

SpectralTime

Thanks for the comments! Since you mention it, I actually have been considering a one-off "how they met" novella. I have a lot of ideas; I just need to make the time for it at some point.

Sarah Hawke

Also, I really like Val. Kinda curious why she's so terrified when her lover finds out that she's just got a fluid fetish. And I do hope that her relationship gets some more development, since, unlike Kaseya's, we didn't see its beginning, middle, and end. I get that she's an emotionally-stunted cynic, but I'm also a big sap and I'd like to see her try to genuinely build a relationship with her two friends. That bit in the last book where she seemingly sincerely considers just giving up fighting was particularly intriguing, since we don't know much about what got her on her particular road in life. I might be interested in a one-off prequel spin-off about how she and Jorem started their operation, but I appreciate that we're kind of in the middle of something right now.

SpectralTime

A random observation from a new fan, but I do think that Zalheer's description of what the Roskarim did to the villagers was so ridiculously over-the-top evil that it kind of completely kills any sympathetic qualities Ayreal sort-of had, since, well, the "you need to break some eggs to make an omelette" argument loses its punch when you do something just as monstrous, if not moreso, than the injustice you're rebelling against for no good reason. Also, was kind of dissatisfied with Zalheer's grumpy ramble about how religion's the opiate of the masses, but whatever. He's a grumpy old sorcerer, and that character archetype is always kind of atheistic anyway. Plus, well, he comes from a culture where it's more or less true. I do think that the random sex scenes sometimes bog down the plot, but hey. I'm still enjoying it, and I hope to see more in the future.

SpectralTime

I’m sorry if I sounded too jerky

Thanks for the input! Feedback is always welcome.

I like how it’s the characters driving the story than the story driving the characters like in most genre stories. I like how we get a bit more backstory for the world and it’s characters but i would like to read about a bit more aspects like Jerome and Val’s past before they met each other, and why they love each other. In daughter of destiney it felt like Val became a side character, and was getting push back by to a third-wheel when things got more serious between Jerome and his Amazon. So I say give them both equal if not a bit more fair screen time so that Val doesn’t become last week’s girl. I won’t give detailed spoilers but there was a moment in a fight scene where got hurt and Jerome didn’t bother to think if she’s okay, that made me theorize she’s a traitor and I hope she won’t be. But I still loved the story, and there were a lot less grammar issues. So please keep it coming and I can’t wait til the next one.

Iassic

I meant in general, but either is okay. :)

Sarah Hawke

Do you mean like fan theories or what we think of the story’s direction in general?
