2025-04-07 01:54:58 +0000 UTCI have to say that this comic is one of the first positive depictions of a necromancer I have seen in literature. (I started reading it back in 2018. Mind you, Iโd seen other positive depictions. Just not many.) Up till that point, most of the necromancers I saw in media and literature were always evil aligned. Lots of fiction and media always portrayed characters that dealt with death so negatively. Sulvain was one of the first I have seen portrayed in such an interesting way: still capable of terrible things (referencing how Sulvain took over a city with undead he was puppeteering), but not innately evil and seeking to make amends by being a better person. The power is not evil. How you use it could be, but not the power itself. Such an amazing character. The more I learn about him, the more awesome he seems to me. Every time heโs an embarrassing god-dad, goofy with Raziol, happy with Udaya in a flashback in their very modest home, I cheer because he could have been such a different person because of just how horrible the world (and possibly his own village) has treated him, and he chose *not* to be horrible.

That would have been his normal in such a way that of course he wouldn't have understood it or understood that other people didn't share his subjective experience of the world. I'm struck by the sense of point of view on a page like this, because the images give us such a clear vision of Sulvain's experience that Raziol can't get because he's on a bench in LA. There's this amazing sense of confidentiality with the authors from a page like this, because of what they've chosen to show us versus what is actually conveyed by the dialogue. Beautiful.

Both of them didn't deserve it ๐ even if it led to them being together ๐๐ and finding eachother again was beautiful I agree, on the other side of the world, on the same uni even. 2025-04-06 20:35:00 +0000 UTCOmg baby Sulvain seeing dinos! So cute! But also the concern on Raziolโs face as Sulvain lays some of, if not the most vulnerable parts of his life/story, bare. Honestly I think most of the concern stems from the โthen I diedโ comment ๐ because Raz loves him, and even though Sulvain is undead and well in front of him, the thought of him dying, even though he came back, is distressing. Also, while I feel like this story isnโt about soulmates or anything, I canโt help but think that lovers who desperately wanted to find each other and went centuries without them, only to accidentally find them again, is more than coincidence. Fate, maybe? You can make your own choices, but the chances of them coming together again are so small. I guess the romantic in me likes the idea that in every world theyโd find each other.
