Test Subject Wishes (story)
Added 2025-08-29 14:01:25 +0000 UTCNick was a brown-haired, blue-eyed guy in his twenties who was in his final years of college. Nick, although he used to be a skilled guy with good grades, was very worried about what future he should pursue after finishing his university studies in such a hostile world outside of school. He wondered if he should get more training or if he should look for a job as soon as possible (even before finishing college) to start paying off the huge college debt that awaited him. Sometimes Nick, tired of all the hustle and bustle of the last few years of college, wonders if there is another way to make a living without so much stress and live as peacefully as possible, without worries or stress, without waiting for the next turbulent turn of life, since, at the end of the day, everything is so chaotic and everything in the world is so accidental and so lacking in control and stability that you can't always expect to succeed in everything you do, and uncontrollable circumstances can always arise that force everyone to change their plans on the fly. Sometimes Nick is tired of these situations and, feeling so stressed by these situations even while still in college, and with the possibility that everything out there could be much worse and much more chaotic and that everything could really be the beginning of a life with fewer and fewer freedoms and less time and more responsibilities to fulfill, make Nick feel frankly terrified deep down and wonder if there isn't a way to just live peacefully.
Among the possibilities Nick is considering for what to do after finishing college and living a life without so many worries is, perhaps, going to a cabin without internet or basic services, to live in the woods like a hermit, although the more Nick thinks about that possibility, perhaps it is already too late to make that decision, because if that was the decision he could have made in the first place, why did he bother so much to study for a university degree that he is now about to finish? So Nick decided that it was perhaps too late to take that route.
Then Nick thought, what if he simply didn't pay his college debt? Although he quickly realized that this would be impossible to avoid since, in the country where he lives, it would probably ruin his finances and financial future forever, making it impossible for him to get a mortgage or car loan if he wanted to buy a house or car in the future, or even get a loan in case of a medical emergency. Either way, thinking about all these things stresses Nick out even more, but not paying his student loans is definitely not an option.
Nick finally asks himself, what if he asks his parents for help paying off the loan? But then Nick remembers that this would make his parents very disappointed, especially since they were quite happy when he left home to go to college. Returning home to his parents, and on top of that to ask for help paying off a loan instead of doing so by finding a wonderful job working 72 hours a week, would be very upsetting to his parents, who have begun to enjoy their old age and who, moreover, are currently on a luxurious cruise, completely disconnected from reality and without having to deal with problems that are Nick's responsibility to solve. All this only makes Nick more and more desperate as he arrives home. Fortunately, it's Friday and he has the next day off, so maybe he can get some rest that night and keep thinking about solutions tomorrow.
Nick then, without taking off his clothes, throws his backpack onto the bed as he locks the door to his room, and throws himself onto his narrow bed in his small room in the student dorm where he lives, tangling himself in the sheets and hugging his pillow, trying to sleep, but unable to clear his head completely and unable to stop thinking about all the situations that are weighing on him about his future.
Nick, after half an hour of trying to sleep, suddenly feels a great vertigo around him, as if he were falling into the void, something that fills his heart with anxiety. Suddenly Nick wakes up to find himself lying on the floor of a room with black and white tiles, arranged like a chessboard. Nick, nervous and not realizing at first that he might be dreaming, looks around for explanations but sees nothing around him, only the black and white mosaic floor expanding into infinity, while the only source of light seems to be a spotlight pointing from a place Nick cannot see clearly, but which illuminates Nick and his surroundings. However, as the space expands around Nick, the light begins to shine less and less clearly on the surroundings until it disappears completely, leaving Nick unable to see beyond the reach of the light.
Then, nervous at seeing so much darkness, Nick must decide between staying where he is, where the spotlight is pointing but where there seems to be nothing, and the second option, which would be to move away from the illuminated area, which is nevertheless full of darkness and holds an uncertain future but at least offers the hope that there is something beyond the darkness that he can access or find. So Nick, nervous at seeing only darkness and nothing else around him except himself and the small space illuminated by the spotlight, decides to venture into the darkness in search of something more, in search of answers, and thus discover where he is and why he has suddenly appeared there, because at least taking action momentarily calms Nick's anxiety.
Fortunately for Nick, the further he ventured into the unknown and plunged into the darkness, he could see in the distance, within that space, remote flashes of light that showed some other illuminated place. However, seeing it that way meant that the place where he was was quite extensive, enough to allow the little light that was somewhere so far away to be seen, and he could no longer see the light from the place where he had started after walking for so many minutes.
On the other hand, to Nick's surprise, the closer he got to that new source of light, the more his anxiety and fear of the unknown diminished and his fascination and the adrenaline running through his nerves increased more and more, seeing an extreme white figure in the distance on a pedestal being illuminated by what appeared to be another spotlight, this being, perhaps, some kind of sculpture or something like that?
Finally, Nick reached the source of light. In front of him was this enigmatic work of art, which was being illuminated by what appeared to be another spotlight just above them, just like the spotlight that had illuminated Nick several minutes earlier when he first appeared in that place. Seeing that thing up close, at first glance it looks like a person, so realistic that it even seems to have some life in the sparkle of its eyes, while on the other hand, it is completely motionless, standing on a pedestal, a cylindrical platform that reaches Nick's knees. Although the work of art in question looks like a person, it is so clearly paralyzed that it seems impossible that it could be a person, since a person cannot remain static like that for so long and so perfectly, let alone in a pretty pose standing on one leg. So, is that statue a person or an immovable object? That question, although it invades Nick's mind for a moment, doesn't seem to matter much to him, as he remains completely distracted by it, as if the longer he looks at it, the more obsessed he becomes with the beauty of that statue.
It looks like a kind of doll, in a pompous dress similar to what a princess would wear, but perhaps with a slightly shorter skirt (above the knee, at the height of a school miniskirt, although with a well-defined cylindrical outline, perhaps thanks to some crinoline and the accentuated hips of the doll. That red and white dress is full of bows, ruffles, and ribbons coming out of the back, chest, neck, and sleeves, accompanied by white pantyhose, white gloves above the elbow, and red Mary Jane shoes. She has blue eyes like his, but with long, straight blonde hair.
Somehow, for Nick, witnessing such beauty had completely distracted him and left him absorbed, forgetting for a moment all the anxiety and stress he felt, both due to the strange nature of the dream in that disturbing black abyss and his own personal problems in reality. For a moment, all that stress and anxiety dissipated in the beauty of that doll, a doll that does not suffer due to the circumstances she faces in life, nor does she have any debts or responsibilities to take care of. Instead, she simply enjoys the moment. The doll lives that eternal moment in total passivity and peace, unchanging, because what kind of issue or situation would disturb the peace of a doll? After all, the doll cannot do anything. since they do not move, they only exist, vulnerable to their surroundings only as long as their owner allows them to be, and protected by the darkness and security that the perimeter of their pedestal allows in that particular case. Furthermore, if they are not being cared for by their owner at that moment, who would be capable of hurting or breaking a doll that has never hurt anyone?
This is how Nick's mind becomes more and more clouded in a kind of fanaticism and excessive devotion that he has begun to feel for the doll because of all the attention he has given to her beauty, to the point that it now seems impossible for him to let anyone else see the doll, even though getting close to her helped him discover that there is a kind of cylindrical barrier of transparent glass surrounding the pedestal at the same height as its outline, a glass so clean and transparent that it allows you to see through it clearly and you don't even notice its existence. So at that moment, it's just Nick and the doll, the doll still motionless, not moving a single muscle, while Nick has his face and hands pressed against the cylindrical glass barrier. Even if Nick tried, it seems that the attraction, devotion, and obsession he feels for the doll is so strong that he seems to be hypnotized and brainwashed by it in some way. But even stranger and beyond that, it seems as if Nick's obsession and devotion to the doll is slowly turning into envy in some way, as if the tranquility and peace that the doll exudes has become contagious and Nick, who is tired of so much anxiety and worrying about the future, now wants to embrace that peace himself and stop suffering so much, and enjoy the same peace and tranquility that the doll enjoys, wishing with all his heart to achieve that level of tranquility, peace, and fulfillment that the doll seems to enjoy. From one moment to the next, when Nick blinks, it seems that his perspective, the point of view from where he is, has completely changed, as if he were inside the cylindrical glass barrier, while he looks closely at the reflection of his face, although, in reality, that reflection does not look so much like Nick's face as something recently familiar, perhaps the reflection of the doll that Nick sees in the glass?
Suddenly, Nick wakes up. It seems to be Saturday at 12 a.m. At least he was able to wake up late, but all the peace he was able to enjoy momentarily during his sleep is lost as Nick is once again absorbed by an environment full of uncertainty. All that peace Nick felt seems to have been just that, a dream and nothing more, which makes Nick feel deeply miserable, wishing deep down for a moment that what he saw in his dream had been reality, although he finally resigns himself and decides to get up and take a shower. Even though Nick is resting that day, now that he is back to reality, he cannot let his guard down or trust anyone, and he decides to use both days off that weekend to find another job, one that had caught his attention and that he had seen in an internet advertisement a few days ago, a job as a test subject for different substances and objects that modify the human body and its constitution. However, the advertisement promises that after testing the substances and objects on the test subject, an antidote would be administered and the test subject would be released with no side effects. They also promised to resolve any side effects that appeared in the test subject, so it seemed like a great opportunity for Nick, not only because he would be paid for doing nothing, but also because he would be paid for simply existing while they tested various harmless substances on him.
In addition, the job offers a large monthly salary, which would help Nick start paying off his student loans and, who knows, with a little luck, it could become his job for life, as long as Nick considers that the substances they inject him with or the inventions they test on him do not harm him in any way. At least, amid all the problems Nick is facing, there seems to be a glimmer of realistic hope that turns despair into optimism, at least for the moment, as he gets ready to leave and then heads out of the house to the laboratory where he has been summoned for an interview for the job.
Hours later, Nick finally wakes up and arrives at the place where he was summoned, which, far from resembling the reception or lobby of a large pharmaceutical corporation, looks more like a warehouse divided into rooms, the entrance to which is located after passing through a dark alley in the city. The façade gives Nick a bad first impression of the pharmaceutical company and makes him feel a little nervous, although at the same time he is overcome by a strange hunger for adventure and an intrigue about the unknown that he has never felt before anywhere else, a feeling that he had somehow felt before in that strange dream he had earlier.
Finally, after waiting patiently for several long minutes in a chair in the basement, a nurse with long black hair and intense red eyes emerges from a room, wearing a pink nurse's uniform. She asks Nick if he is the guy who saw the ad on the internet and called them a few days ago, to which Nick replies that yes, he is the same person. The nurse then asks Nick if he is willing to start working that same day, which surprises Nick quite a bit. Indecisive and nervous at first, he quickly accepts the offer, as this great opportunity for Nick becomes a reality. [Page 1] The nurse then extends her hand to Nick, and he gets up from his seat to take it, feeling a strange chill run down his arm and a strange feeling about the whole situation and, above all, about the nurse, as if she were hiding something or as if she herself were filled with a strange and mysterious energy that he feels just by touching her and looking into her eyes. The nurse, not paying much attention to Nick's strange look, takes him by the hand to another room, one that, far from seeming mysterious or interesting, or at least as much as the nurse, really looks like a fairly mundane doctor's office, nothing out of the ordinary and nothing strange in itself.
After that, the nurse instructs Nick to sit down on the stretcher, which he does, and then gives him a jar with a couple of strange pink pills inside. The nurse tells Nick that this will be his first experimental test as a medical test subject. The medication is supposed to be for psychiatric use, as it would be used on people with anger issues to make them more docile and peaceful, although this medication may have side effects on people who do not have anger issues, and they are not yet sure what those side effects would be in order to assess the risk. In any case, the nurse downplays the seriousness of taking the medication, saying that it is very unlikely to have any lethal side effects and that, in any case, there are doctors in the building whom Nick can call in case of an emergency. The nurse then gives Nick a glass of water and leaves the room to let him feel comfortable when taking the medication.
At that moment, Nick certainly begins to doubt whether he is capable of doing the job, because, after all, he does not know what the medicine contains or how it was manufactured, and worse still, what the possible side effects are. Nick asks himself, “What if the effects are irreversible?” as he looks doubtfully at the bottle of pills. Then Nick feels the adrenaline rush through his veins and remembers other things, such as his initial motivations. Nick doesn't think it's right to waste his whole life paying off student loans if he fails, so maybe the big paycheck that this job offers is worth the risk. Anyway, most likely nothing bad will happen, and if nothing bad happens after taking this experimental medication, he'll be able to go home with an envelope full of green bills.
So Nick, without thinking twice, swallows the pills with a glass of water, and that's it, he's finally taken the medicine. And what happened? Nothing at all, there's nothing to worry about, or at least that's what Nick keeps telling himself over and over again, hoping that there won't be any side effects to worry about after taking the pills. However, no matter how much he tells himself that nothing has happened and nothing will happen, he begins to feel a strange heat running through his body, as if he were doing intense exercise, and the flesh and fat on his body begin to boil uncontrollably, and his heart races and pounds nonstop, causing him great concern.
Suddenly, along with the rapid and intense beating of his heart, he feels something in his chest begin to protrude as the buttons at the top of his shirt start to pop open and fly everywhere. Two huge lumps have appeared on his pectorals, as if they were... women's breasts? This situation is surprising and terrifying, but at the same time, it subconsciously fascinates and excites Nick, who can't help but blush as he watches breasts seem to grow on his chest. Is this a side effect of the medication? That's what Nick asks himself.
Meanwhile, as his breasts continue to grow, Nick begins to feel very uncomfortable in his pants, as if his hips and buttocks were continuously widening, to the point of bursting the belt that held his pants in place. However, the pressure he now feels on his hips and buttocks is so great that his pants do not fall to the floor, but are held up by the pressure of what appear to be new hips and an expanded buttocks. No matter how terrible and at the same time exciting and curious this situation may be for Nick, as it happens, he regains awareness of the gravity of the situation he is going through and finally decides to shout for help from the nurse so that the doctors will come and see the side effects of the medicine and, surely, help him return to normal. But when Nick makes a sound, his soul broke when he discovered that the changes were not only external, but also internal: a sweet, soft voice came out of his mouth, a female voice, different from his usual deep voice, which left Nick very confused and embarrassed, leaving him so shocked by this situation that he didn't even notice other simultaneous changes taking place in his body, such as his hair growing from short, sparse brown hair to long locks that gradually lightened from brown to blonde, or that he hadn't even noticed yet that down there, nothing remained of his old adventure-seeking friend, and now there was only an immense emptiness staring back at him. Finally, the nurse returns to see the changes Nick has undergone, although perhaps it would be better to call her Nicole after that.
[Page 2]
Nicole is now very nervous and desperate to return to normal, and asks the nurse what happened with the doctors she told them about to reverse any side effects, all while the nurse examines Nicole's body in detail, checking for side effects from the medication while answering Nicole's questions. According to the nurse, unfortunately for her, she may have to wait until tomorrow for the doctors to return to work, as they have already gone home. While Nicole was undergoing her transformation, 12 long hours passed without her realizing it, as if time had moved differently for her in that distressing situation, in which only a few minutes passed for her. Nicole is not willing to return to her room like this, especially since only men sleep there, so having to wait until tomorrow puts Nicole in a difficult situation. The nurse then gives Nicole an envelope with money while making her a new proposal.
Since she cannot go home, perhaps she can stay there all night to try another experiment, as if it were a kind of night shift, since the nurse has to stay there anyway because there are experiments that take place in the early hours of the morning. This way, Nicole might be able to sleep all day and night the next day after the doctors return. With no other choice, Nicole resigns herself and accepts the nurse's new offer while taking the envelope with the money. After checking and counting each bill, she realizes that it is the payment for 24 hours (that is, for both experiments, the one that has already been carried out, which turned her into a girl as a side effect, as well as the new unknown experiment she is about to undergo in the next 12 hours of the night. The nurse then gives Nicole a few minutes to put away her money and belongings, as well as instructing her to undress for the next test, as she will not need any clothes for it. Nicole nods and the nurse leaves the room.
Nicole then proceeds to undress slowly, discovering some things she hadn't noticed before, especially changes in her body. While her new hips, buttocks, and breasts seem quite realistic, as if they had always been there, she discovers that she no longer has testicles or a phallus, but instead now has a vagina. Although Nicole would like to experiment more with her new body, she doesn't seem to have much time left as she undresses, so she finishes doing so and now she is alone in the room, without clothes, completely naked, feeling the cold air from the air conditioner directly on her skin, while she observes her naked and thin new body, a body that seems a little familiar to her, as if she had seen it somewhere before, perhaps in a dream.
Quickly, without Nicole expecting it, and without her seeing the laser beam above her after standing where the nurse asked her to, the nurse clicks an ON button on a remote control, and then a bright light illuminates the entire room and blinds them both for a moment.
[Page 3]
From one moment to the next, Nicole feels as if the floor has suddenly disappeared beneath her and she has fallen into a void that feels long, even eternal, until Nicole hits the floor, which feels hard, although she also feels somewhat stiff herself. Nicole tries to calm down a little; it was just a bright light, what's the worst that could happen? But her optimism ends when she realizes she can't move. No matter how hard she tries, she feels as if her body has suddenly become rigid, not heavy, but hard and inflexible. The nurse, somehow sensing Nicole's nervousness, picks her up off the floor (since Nicole has now been shrunk and her body has decreased in size by ⅛, like a doll) and whispers in her ear, “Guinea pigs don't need to know anything else,” while Nicole ends up losing all movement, her face frozen in surprise as she is picked up by the nurse. Nicole has finally been transformed into a kind of small, living resin doll, like a collectible figurine or doll, while her heart continues to beat in some way, although she is unable to express any sign of autonomy to the outside world, her eyes remaining open and motionless. On the other hand, the invention that the nurse tested on Nicole proved to be a success, as it was able to turn the test subject into a figure by plasticizing her skin and shrinking her all at the same time with a single transformative ray.
The nurse then takes Nicole's belongings (which are in a backpack under the stretcher) and throws them in the trash can, but not before removing the envelope with cash, something Nicole will no longer need in her new life as a permanent test subject. The nurse then takes her (the doll) to another room where there is a conveyor belt and places her on it, which takes Nicole to a place called the “packing area,” according to a sign in the hole where the conveyor belt passes through.
[Page 4]
After long hours of exhaustive testing, a robotic arm grabs Nicole by the torso, pistons emerge from Nicole's orifices, and the arm inserts Nicole onto another cylindrical rubber piston, which is attached to a conveyor belt that moves Nicole into the unknown, into a large factory as vast as that dark void Nicole only remembers from her dreams, losing herself in the distance from the starting point of her transformation process as the nurse waves goodbye to Nicole from afar.
Finally, Nicole enters a machine full of robotic arms, where her vital signs and other quality aspects are recorded as a figurine. It seems that Nicole has passed all the tests and will now be “refined” enough to, perhaps, continue testing on her or, in the best case scenario, be sold to the highest bidder on the internet, whichever happens first depending on whether or not she is purchased before they decide to discontinue her and test on her.
Nicole, totally ecstatic in a mixture of pleasure, nervousness, and helplessness at not being able to move because her movement is restricted, only feels the white stockings slowly sliding down her legs, white gloves above her elbows, and a laser beginning to construct a kind of nanometric dress around her skin, a fluffy magenta and white dress, which might seem familiar to her, assuming she could see it.
Finally, at the end of the assembly line, Nicole was packed into a pretty box and held tightly in place by the plastic inner protector, and ejected by the machine. Nicole has finally been turned into a simple, ordinary doll, a figurine, ready to be sold and lost in some store when purchased by a customer and taken to some other unknown place. Nicole was a happy doll, ready to accept her new place in the world (not that she had a choice), but now, as a doll, she couldn't decide that either, because the nurse, in an act of selfishness and delighted with the result, decides to take the doll that was Nicole home instead of having her transported and sold like the other test subjects who suffered the same fate as Nicole.
