You never know if there is more to Cameron than it seems. You have to wonder how different she actually is from other Terminators - like she mentioned in the pilot. One thing is clear: Protecting John does not seem to be the only part of her mission, as she kept the chip from the destroyed Terminator for herself. And you can't help but wonder if Derek and her have some history...
