2025-11-01 01:35:01 +0000 UTCi think they explain this better in the manga but magic in this world is basically all about how strong you can focus and visualize it/form the image and concept in your head... but the existence of grimoires imply there's things you have to be able to analyze in real time (like mathematical equations in your head) to manifest something specific. so you can't just do anything you imagine unless you've studied the specific spell for it... so if you have aphantasia, you're cooked lmao. that's why a lot of the mage training just looks like a bunch of meditation practices.

In so many other shows, an episode like this would be called filler and most people would skip over it. Like I love dragon ball, but if there was an episode like this in dbz, most people would just skip it. But even though not much really happened to progress the overall story and plot, every second of the episode feels cozy and comfortable to watch. It's just how Frieren is. It definitely isn't the most hype episode of this season by any means, but this and every other episode is just great to watch.
