We have also already seen Gilgamesh use the Chains of Heaven against Rider in Fate/Zero when he ran at gil while getting impaled by his weapons and as Gil said in this episode, the more divine the captive, the tighter the chains will hold them/more effective.

2025-08-01 23:34:16 +0000 UTCyes the grail/irisviel(not really) mentioned that Illya (illyasviel) had a "little brother", she means Shirou, (obviously not blood brother), so another hint that Illya is older than she looks, (18), which we already knew from Fate/Zero, when we had an 8 year flashback in episode 1 to when she was born and then we know that from the end of zero to fate stay night ubw there is a 10 year time skip... in this episode the grail/'irisviel' also mentioned that the greater grails flame was not extinguished and the battle ended without resolution and would soon resume, another answer as to why it began only after 10 years. It didn't need as much mana as it would normally because of the leftover mana helped reduce the time it would for another grail war, (i.e summon the servants, etc). One of the causes was that Kiritsugu destroyed the lesser grail/grail vessel, which we already know.
