im not joking when I say OnePace is a significntly worse viewing experience, especially for watching for the first time, so many parts are rushed for 0 reason (Kuma vanishing Perona for example) its really just sloppy and leaves a lot of suspense out of the scenes. jack's take is completely valid. i love sanji but a lot of people really don't like when you criticize his character or how far oda goes with his gag, yes oda. toei definitely makes it worse, but that scene from this arc where he fully admits to wanting to be invisible to spy on women in the bath made me extremely uncomfortable when i first watched, and that was all oda. i wish oda had just stuck fully with the part of sanji's character that can’t lay a hand on women and is a charming gentleman instead of making him have moments where he's a huge creep cause it's really a hard watch, especially when you love everything else about his character.

sanji doesn't fit the normal "pervert" character archetype in anime and that's why his gag doesn't bother me. I’m not saying that sanji is a perfect character but most of the time sanji's gag is moments where he’s just appreciating women or shouting nami-swan or just having heart eyes. when sanji is fighting abasolm he's saying that he wants to use the clear clear fruit to peep on women, but we saw how angry sanji was when he heard that it happened to nami. sanji clearly isn't being honest when he's saying all these things to abasolm because his actions always show how sanji truly feels. this is the very foundation of sanji as a character since he has been introduced - sanji and zeff’s whole relationship is both of them saying horrible stuff to each other but ready to die for each other immediately. if you're caught up, it's obvious why sanji was putting on a front about the real reason why he wanted the fruit and the reason he treats women so dearly. sanji feels vulnerable in that moment and hides behind his words. toei does too much and oda sometimes - sanji is the goat and he's very complex.

I never can hate Sanji. I'm in the present with the anime and manga and I can safely say he is still my goat. I get the annoyance with some of the gags that Toei does for him, so I understand why some people wouldn't like him. But for me, I find myself mostly laughing at those gags than being annoyed. I think only a few times I was annoyed, but never made me dislike him. It's been proven Toei (not Oda) just be doing Sanji wrong, and that makes me like him even more. Toei are rats fr. I also watch Otakubroz one piece reactions, and I love their reactions to Sanji. They got me laughing every time and they always laugh and make jokes at his gags😂😂😂 Jack is right about the crew and their fight with Oars. They were trying to keep Oars attention as Luffy defeats Moria but after seeing Moria in Oars, they made the decision that they gotta purify him because he's too much to handle and they are reaching their limits. One of my favorite moments of the arc tho is seeing the crew fight together and strategize.

Oars is actively hunting down the straw hats and luffy is the highest priority. The whole point of the Oars fight is to stall him so that Luffy can have his 1v1 against Moriah, to release everyone's shadow. But now that Moriah is inside of Oars, they need to actually get rid of Oars. Which is why they are now trying to find more salt to exorcise him since they are also in a time crunch and they can't fully rely on Luffy showing up before the sun comes out.
