.Attack. .On. .Titan.(2.0) Finale

Many tears warning🥹 Its been an INSANE journey with the gek girls as their first anime experience comes to an end! A FEW THINGS TO NOTE...

The girls were very emotional at the end (check the last few seconds lol) and were not able to convey even close to their full complete thoughts and feelings, so in early july we will be doing a big review of the show as a whole! We will also be doing reactions and rankings to the openings and endings as well as AoT jr high for healing as bradlynn and eve asked for 100 likes on a comment and it got well over 100. So this isn't exactly the END END and we will see you soon with more AoT!

.Attack. .On. .Titan.(2.0) Finale

Comments

2000 days from this last upload would be November 28, 2030 on a Thursday. Would be a crazy lineup lol

Creed ⟢

Are we never gonna get the review and opening reactions 🥲 same with AOT Junior High. You guys confirmed it was coming in a post a few months ago

Tivy

Stream videos is the worst way to watch in patreon

YEPPA

Any news on a final reaction?

JJ163

Guess we won’t have AOT Junior High

Vallll

it’s August already 😞

Tiara

that shit ain’t coming💀

UntitledFlu

Op/Ed reactions soon?

walkman

A lot of people had mixed feelings about the ending. I felt that it was predictable and inevitable. The baby on the edge of the clip being passed on by the people still gets me teared up every time :'(. Also attack on titan is such a huge, popular show and I wished they had sticked to their 2D animation and took their time with it instead of going with CGI and rushing their work, other than that this is one of my favorite animes. It was an amazing journey watching all of you guys react with new faces! Love AoT <3

Riya

20 days later, I forced myself to watch the finale and cried the whole way. You guys didn't cry enough haha. I just noticed the parallel of Armin answering question is Eren human and titan and trembling in episode 10 season 1 and answering human and titan question here as a commander.

S Moonchild

Wait for July, people are on various trips as far as we've been told, they'll do it when they're all back

dimitris athanasiou

Sooo are they not doing OP/ED reactions with the girls like they said they would? I get the series is over but people were waiting for those reactions. Maybe they just decided not to after all. Oh well.

misspancakes

Please react to Project EMU with the girls! ♥

Marissa ♥

the text thread is soooo real because I'll just be randomly thinking about it and the characters and start tearing up haha

a_daichi

Mikasa is actually a really strong character. She decided to let go of her love when Ymir couldn’t. I always tear up when she flies into colossal titan Eren and doesn’t even hesitate to kill him. She had no other choice and that will always hurt me lol

a_daichi

I finally finished this today 😪 what an end to a fun rewatch with you all!!!

a_daichi

It would be awesome if you guys could react to "Attack On Titan Opening Guren no Yumiya Live" by Linked Horizon. It absolutely is an epic and heavenly experience, especially for symphonic rock fans and live performance enthusiasts. I’d really appreciate it if you could kindly consider this for your AOT content.

MeekikZIN

when will you guys react to the openings and endings

Mike

@GEKS I sent the main channel a DM with an idea. If you wouldn't mind taking a look, I think it would be intriguing.

Jake M

Lol that text chain at the end is so real

Gobbo

although I can't say I like the ending or what it does for the story (plot holes, last-second retcons, plot armor, etc.), rewatching it always gets me emotional. loved watching alongside the group the first time and now with the girls too, can't wait for what's next!

LilDaz26

i'm already crying from the finale and now THIS? uhh i'm so sad.. I want to see them again

Avital Lockhart

I couldn't help crying when Mikasa wished to see Eren again.. #Thirdwatch Thank you so much for going through this journey with us right to the very end ♥

Avital Lockhart

Wait, I didn’t realize until now. This is the last time we see Brig and (sorry, I think her name is Riley but I’m not sure) on the channel? Damn lol

NMP

Jean and Mikasa getting together is just speculation, no confirmation from Isayama (to my knowledge)

Jake M

Fun fact folks The manga ends on chapter 139 139 has a symbolic meaning: "The end of something and the beginning of something else" While the number 140 is associated with Freedom, but the manga ends on chapter 139 because Eren is NEVER free

Oliver

Will you guys edit a recap of highlights like you did for the first reaction? Also i agree with others that A Silent Voice and Vinland are great for the girls to watch and would like to add Frieren on top of that. Just like AoT it's so good that it transcends anime and becomes digestible for the mainstream.

juryef

Im sorry if this was already answered but what are we getting to replace AoT? 😭

Patriicia

No more AOT mondays 😭

jemmy

when will they release the op/ed reaction video?🤔

Lemonmk

It also ties to his false freedom and lack of free will that Erne has like he said the past present and future coexist so in order to start his story and get the present and have Armin live and everything in the present to arrive at this future it was foreshadowed too.

TTB

If anyone is confused why Eren sent Dina to his mom there are 2 reasons. First of all he just made sure that Berthold was alive he didnt send Dina to his mom to keep him alive. The first reason is to make sure Grisha gave Eren the power. If anyone is wondering why Grisha decided to give Eren his power even after seeing Eren's future and telling Zeke to stop him is because to revenge Carla's death. It doesnt show in the anime but in the manga before he is ejecting Eren with the spinal fluid he is telling him to take revenge for his mother. Grisha wasnt like Eren and there were several times he had to be motivated to fullfil his mission. The other reason is to motivate himself in a way. Throughout Eren's whole life one of the biggest reasons kept him going was his mother's death. After Eren achieved the Founder's full power he was making sure everything was playing out the way they should be to achieve his goal. Which is why he told Grisha to kill the Reiss family except the father or why he kept Berthold alive and of course his mother's death. His head was messed up after the medal ceremony and after he got the full power of the Founder (Where past and future is one) it was only then he was in a mental state to be able to kill his own mother, which is of course still ironic.

Ladonn

Going on this journey with y'all for a second time has been a true privilege

pineapplegreg

Did they say what'll replace AoT?

Poragami

+1, was thinking this too

Kiyoh

Would love to see them react to Cyberpunk Edgerunners, girls i've recommended it to have all loved it and we also just need that classic on the channel 😭

Matt C

I think they'd love a silent voice

Goatchis

I wonder what the next show is going to be 🧐

Kite

I don't remember if the Geks reacted to them, but the movies also have some OP/EDs that were made for them. Under the Tree (movie 1 ED): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QesgADu8gM Also has a full version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPX-L2F78fU Final Chapter OP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6qCbdXqsOs Final Chapter ED: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU2KGyQgso4

HaoHao 9

Silent voice would be sick

Eiden Porter

I think if the girls want to continue anime then movies like a silent voice or your name would be great options

ROSS

This was definitely a bittersweet end. I definitely felt depressed after watching it for a couple of days. I'm glad I watched this anime. It's a great show and after thinking about it for a while this ending make sense. It still bugs me though that Eren had to be the bad guy. I figured he was going to die for a while now. I'm glad he and Mikasa didn't run away because I feel like that would have been unrealistic. It was great watching this with you guys and I hope that the girls do more anime reactions.

Jenny D

i think a good followup to this emotional reaction would be a “A Silent Voice” reaction with the girls

stako

Peak dude. Peak

Cannon Andrus

Dude fr

Cannon Andrus

If I could make a request, when you do eventually watch all the OPs and EDs, could you also throw in Call of Silence/Ymir's backstory in there? It's my favorite song from the series and the Paths reveal + Ymir's story is so beautiflul (finding freedom) and tragic (doing the "right thing" and giving her stolen titan back to help Reiner and Bert)

RishadCast

Man I think I cried harder this rewatch than the first time I watched it! I think bc the first time I watched it, I was caught off guard by a lot of things that made me feel the ending was lackluster or rushed. But watching it altogether and fresh from the regular season watch, it really hit differently!

Melly

24:55 love that Cannon acknowledges the bad line of "Annie has fought enough", I mean that's just hilarious compared to literally every person there basically

Jake M

What is there to say? Just an unbelievable ride from start to finish. I love this show so much, and I'm thrilled the girls enjoyed it as much as they did. It's genuinely hard to put words down. If it was anyone else's first watch of the show, welcome to AoT, I hope you enjoyed it as well.

Dakota

sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's over T.T the crying afterwards doesn't end for a little while guys xD it's just part of the process. This was so fun to experience again with you guys that I'm probably gonna go watch the Gek's original reaction now... Thanks for the reactions guysssssssss

Dwob

In the end, at root of it all, none it matters in the grand scheme. Not at all. What we care for, what we hope, what we love, what we hate and even what we live for. Yet it still matters to us, individually. We all have something we'd fight to protect. Human beings are filled with all kinds of emotions, which are our most beautifull yet most idiotic gift. That is what it is to be human. Hence why, throughout time it will always repeat. We are all human and we will fight for what we live for, which ultimatly will only matter to us. AOT is beautiful yet tragic. Although its medium and charcaters might be fictional yet it encapsulates the raw, unflinching portrait of human nature. Its lessons pierce straight to the heart of our reality, forcing us to confront the messy truth of survival and freedom. This is why I love this show to an extent that I dont even feel like its an anime. Why it stands apart. Its boarderline impossible to compare it to other anime, because it resonates a living reflection of our own world. I'm really glad you all took it upon yourselves to watch this masterpiece, even in rewatch the message and journey are just as powerful! Thank you!

Mon_d_lu

Guys, remember the “random” scene at AOT Finale, where Mikass and Eren are at a log cabin chopping wood? If you’re confused about it —it was the future Mikasa and Eren could’ve had, if Mikasa told Eren she loved him, when they were at that Refugee location at night. So, they would’ve ran away if Mikasa would’ve said she loved him, instead of told him he was like family

Jem de Jager

The the voice acting is strong

Ollie

Omg I love the text message exchange at the end. Don't worry, I cried for days after, and still cry every time I watch the finale. (And pretty much during the entire finale) But conflicting emotions about it so soon after is totally normal. Life isn't black and white, and neither is AoT. So glad y'all liked it though, it is seriously the best piece of media out there in my opinion. And on the note of Mikasa and Jean, I think they would eventually end up together. I think Mikasa would never get over Eren, but that Jean would understand that. He will never forget Eren either, so I think they could find comfort in a life together, where they respected that impact Eren made. I think it'd be hard for someone who didn't know Eren to be with Mikasa, knowing you'd never have her whole heart. But Jean would, and would also hold space in his life for Erens memory. That's just how I think a writer, who has done so well acknowledging messy human emotions, would look at it.

ShadowCat

I’d like to thank the commenters under this video, because until now, I interpreted the final scene with the boy and the tree as a clear sign that the cycle of violence is doomed to repeat — that humanity is incorrigible. But thanks to you, I realized for the first time that a different, more hopeful interpretation of the ending is possible!

Vlad Lena

Riley’s chuckle at 1:52:30 was DIABOLICAL! I was crying my eyes out, but I had to pause the video in shock at that moment 🫣

Vlad Lena

Eve and Bradlynn’s astonishment at 1:37:24, when Levi cut off Zeke’s head, was priceless! 1:53:16 — Eve: “What’s happening?” Boys: “Just watch” 😂 The girls’ disbelief during the scene where Eren starts wailing and begs Mikasa not to forget him — was hilarious 😂 They were so confused hahaha Bradlynn’s “What the freak is happening?” sent me!

Vlad Lena

The scene where Armin is yelling at himself, calling himself “garbage” and a “useless piece of shit,” was one of the hardest for me to watch. His crying almost destroyed me. And at the end, when he saw Eren’s head one more time — it was agonizing!

Vlad Lena

15:50 — “He’s looking so good” — Eve was completely lost in Eren’s deadinside charm 😅 32:32 — Raily: “This stressed me out” — that’s the audience’s mood for the entire finale! 1:07:28 — “Ymir wants to slaughter humanity” McKay: “I don’t blame her” — 😂😂😂

Vlad Lena

Can't wait for the opening reviews, july is for away tho haha

Natsu Hamtaro

No, fired

McKay Carter

facts! plus she didn't even show him no interest during the whole show and they barely even talked so that wouldn't even make sense story wise😂

Christopher

That's a lie he says the same thing as sub. No names were mentioned

Val

It literally hasn't been confirmed that Mikasa ended up with Jean what are yall talking bout

kitty

Gives me a giggle every time

Chosos Wife

The final message of AoT from my interpretation is that just because life may seem meaningless because of death war ends that doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth living. That’s why one of the best quotes in the show is “you have to be drunk on something, everyone is the slave to something”-Kenny. We are all slaves to our desires and ambitions that’s what moves us forward. Just because paradis in the end was destroyed that doesn’t mean the lives you live during it was pointless cuz like Zeke and armin convo perfectly ties to it all.

TTB

"I'm military police though." Still one of the most underrated lines in the show 😭

Emmanuel

I'll add here that, while the person does (probably) enter the tree, he enters it under completely different circumstances than Ymir did. Ymir was running for her life. He wasn't. She wasn't happy. Despite the bandages, his demeanor seemed content, and he had his trusty companion, his dog, with him. Even if the Titans returned, they could end up completely different than before. Ymir only ended up in the Paths due to her loyalty to King Fritz and her obedience to his final order to her: that she cannot die.

Gestrid

Another detail here: throughout the entirety of The Rumbling, Eren's eyes are closed. He finally opens them one last time just to look at Mikasa. Her smile was the last thing he ever saw.

Gestrid

We don’t know if the titans come back. Isayama wanted an ending where you can interpret multiple things and ofc the most popular one is the cycle of titans come back but that’s where he wants his fans to theorize.

TTB

Ideally Eren wanted to do 100% rumbling and then end the curse for his friends but jus like how Eren has an innate nature to want to freedom he dream to come true so does his friends that want to do the right thing and stop him that’s why Eren didn’t tune off their titan and Ackerman powers because he knew they would have died so Eren like Erwin and Kenny was selfless in the end and compromised his dream for his friends. That’s why represents false freedom because we humans are free because we live in the present ignorant of the future unlike Eren who has a desire for freedom that why the rumbling will always happen and he has the highest power to do so or else the rumbling would have never happen if he never cared for his dream of freedom. There’s a lot I can explain but we be here for too long since the ending and Eren’s character is very complex.

TTB

See you guys for the sequel: titan on attack 🫡

Alan

In s3 they said during the eldian empire they experimented and created Ackermans from titan dna which are deprived from Eldians but since they’re fully eldian they can’t have physical memeory manipulation for example in the last ep in s4 Eren told historia once he gets there founding he can erase historia memories so she wouldn’t have to feel so much burden. Physical and metaphysical memory manipulation works differently on Ackermans. Ackermans are like titans humans as they said cause they activate their powers just like titans but they only have to do it once since they’re genetically modified eldians.

TTB

If you remember, when he travelled with Zeke in his memories, that is when he came in contact with his father and convinced him to eat the founder. So when he got to the memory of the smiling titan, that is also the point where he controlled it. So he was not actually controlling it back then but when Zeke and him are activating the rumbling, he couldn‘t have activated it back then. And since everything is bound to happen, if he would change that his mom wouldn‘t be eaten, it would start alternative timelines and that would fuck the whole loop up. Also if he would do that the story would just end haha

Adonis

The reason why Mikasa can be in the paths and got that memory is because she’s a genetically modified eldian from titan dna which are eldians but they can’t turn into titans or “physical” memory manipulation like the king vile but Ackerman are still able to be in the paths which is a metaphysical memory but she only remembers her years with Eren in the paths once Eren died but got headaches of it during the final battle because her bond with Eren is strong. Since ackermans aren’t fully eldians they can’t be subjected to physical memory or turn into titans but are still part of the collective consciousness of eldians via Paths.

TTB

Can someone explain to the best of their ability how Eren sending the smiling titan to his mom and saving Bertholdt not a plot hole? And what i mean about that is i was fine with everything being a memories and everything being faith, not being able to change anything because those things are meant to happen no matter what. But if eren actually change the course of the smiling titan that means he had the power of the Founding at his disposal to do that. If you had the power already why not activate the rumbling already and save Paradise instead of letting you mom die?? I mean damn. Mean maybe im delusional for thinking this way but i would appreciate an explanation please 😣

Ulises Flores(Uliee.)

What we watching next?

Herber

That's an insane detail. Just realized that's why when Eren said "Forget about me", she responded instantly after "I'm sorry, I can't". Because she didn't lose the memory. Wow.

BROCODEDUDE

2:31:20 In other words, their kids will be able to escape the forest.

Gestrid

An interesting detail that I didn't notice until recently: Because Ackermans are unaffected by the Founder's ability to manipulate memories, Eren waited to spend time with Mikasa until right before his death. For everyone else, he spent time with them while they were sailing on the ship.

Gestrid

Way more emotional this time, now that I fully understand everything.

Animeke

what an ending...

Aliya

Ange's death struck them even harder than Erwin's.

Marc-Etienne M Jobin

Thank you!!

Studio Geck

I'm with Frieren with this cast. VS would flow from AOT, but Frieren sounds like a dece option. Some questionable scenes but goes hard frequently

Acebes

Thank you guys for bringing the girls into this. I loved their reactions and hope to see more of them in the future! This was my first ever anime when I was a hater, and it was completely changed my perception of anime. Truly life changing show! I hope you guys show them Vinland saga next, or maybe even Frieren! Thank you guys dor all you do to bring us so much content!

Jmann

When you are born you should be able to enjoy life and food and music and other things that Humanity has created for entertainment but that doesn't mean you can guarantee everyone thats born will have the same result. So thats where the problems first start, once you are born you have too many needs and desires that the world cannot offer to everyone, nothing is free and someone will always be the loser. The fact is, suffering and death is guaranteed once you are born, hunger, shelter, taxes, diseases, crime, wars, inequality, natural disasters, so many things exist to make Life hard and its getting worse. Many people right now cannot afford to start families or worried about the future because they see the reality of the world right now and dont want to irresponsible. Would you gamble if you knew 60-70% chance of losing, thats reality for most people right now, they dont want to gamble with another persons life if they cant afford advantages or many resources that would be very unethical and immoral, yes its depressing but everyone eventually ends their bloodline by accident or by choice. Zeke finally had the chance to remove Eldians from the cycle of violence forever after touching Eren because he believed continuing to exist has no greater meaning besides procreation and suffering. Procreation doesnt care about wars or spaceships or dolphins just making sure Life survives and Humans evolved to have many ways to want to procreate, experiencing pleasure and fear of death. If you believe its impossible to remove the cycle of violence from human nature, whats the point of all this effort and history and technology we built? We are just pushing our extinction away until some nuclear war or sun exploding or galaxy dying happens and no one will even know Humanity existed, our story, our struggle, for who?

DontFailArtSchoolEren

they already watched Evangelion on juicy tier

DontFailArtSchoolEren

this!

Arjeezy

neither is it confirmed that they don’t get together 🤭

indy

BY THE WAY the outro is amazing, so yall get that one track too, thanks

momma

im sitting here like " wtf post credit scene they talking about " and now im like OMFG THAT ONE like whats wrong with yall?? lol

momma

Oh hell no, did i not just hear yall say Jean and Mikasa got together... It was never confirmed :))

momma

Next idea for a show they gotta rewatch with the girls: Evangelion. Would be nice to see your reaction too since we don't have them for your first watch. It's interesting in a different way, not that much fight oriented in comparison to most other shows you've watched but character oriented and pretty psychological.

JeanJean

Omg

Bradlynn Andrus

Cannon's right btw, this is the greatest story ever written

Huxley Bennett

Agreed with the hopeful note to it but still, even with Ymir's wish it wasn't a clear cut good or bad thing. Titans really did help with construction and helping improve lives, and titans really did commit horrific acts of violence. Focusing on just one of these sides is how Ymir could become a god or a devil, when the reality is much more nuanced. Whatever comes as a result of the kid at the end, it's unlikely it would be something that is purely good.

Huxley Bennett

I love that the show starts, develops and concludes the narrative idea of the meaning of life. At the beginning, Kenny says everybody is a slave to something, where people are only able to push through just because they eventually find the motivation/reason to keep on living. Then, Zeke expresses that there is no meaning to life other than multiplying and continuing living for survival purposes. Armin argues something completely different. There doesn't have to be some special purpose in our lives. We find the purpose in the mundane, such as spending time with our friends, playing baseball, just breathing. That's why in the end Zeke realizes that he never actually appreciated his life and how nice a simple breeze can feel on the skin. But it is too late for him. In the end, Kenny and Zeke lived to survive, Armin lived to enjoy life.

Goat

Thank you guys for such an awesome reaction, I'm sure you worked so hard Carter to edit and get these episodes out. And everyone else on the couch for coming together and make this watchthrough super fun and entertaining 🫶🏻 I've also really enjoyed the community in the comment sections. I'll miss it, as well as Mondays and Fridays for AOT!

Ollie

Until you get your head chopped off by Levi Ackermann of course

Ollie

I know the show's main takeaway is that war, violence etc are practically inevitable and that we need to fight for peace. However there are so many lessons you can learn from this show, which is why it is one of my favourites. I think Mikasa's philosophy about the world being cruel but also very beautiful is so accurate in describing life's ups and downs. The scene between Armin and Zeke in the paths rings so true for how life is made up of all these little moments as well. When he pops out and notices how lovely the weather is shows how you can see the beauty in life if only you look for it.

Ollie

WILL THE GIRLS RETURN (plizz for Frieren or Vinland Saga)

PecanButter

they've done an incredible job on this

Goat

Actually the girls might love Frieren too 👀

PecanButter

The scene where Mikasa kills Eren and the buildup to that scene absolutely ruined me the first time. Call me naive and delusional but I really wanted and hoped for that happy ever after ending for Eren and Mikasa. Even my first rewatch (the og Gek reaction) got me. Nowadays I can really just appreciate the writing and the ending and I think it is so perfect. When "To you, in 2000 years" starts playing at the end it immediately moves me to tears though.

Ollie

Amazing rewatch, please please please if the reunion in July happens you must watch the Orchestral tribute to AoT by the Grissini Project - it's amazing; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i06vEDnLlQE

Alex Smith

This.

GreetswithJudgement

The post-credit scene in episode 27 makes this scene hit way harder as well imo

Ollie

Shinzō wo sasageyo 🤛🏻

Ollie

Reiner has suffered from guilt and inner conflict more than anyone in the show, maybe second only to Eren. He didn't belong as a warrior and didn't belong as a scout. Jean really did give him the most precious gift in that moment.

Ollie

If I had a dollar for every time Carter skipped a post-credit cut scene I could buy Cannon his life size All Might statue

Zu

Attack on Titan is a Theological Tragedy that portrays what humanity would be like if there were no known Divine Judgment, as their world has no God. Our morality comes from God, and the only "God" Eren knew turned out to be a traumatised little girl, leaving him with no concept of afterlife-judgement, hence Armin saying "if it exists, then Hell". Also, all of the main cast killed people in direct proportion to their power, from Connie-Jean-Mikasa-Reiner, all the way to Eren. They all justified it by saying it was "necessary". So Eren being seen as a Genocidal maniac is crazy to me. These characters had nothing to rely on but themselves to get "Justice" so they did their best, but it proves that without compassion, forgiveness, and surrender to divine judgement, the cycle of hate and revenge in the name of justice will never end.

Mark_Sammy

A whole series to be honest. I'd have liked another season or two for the main show, but I'd love a whole series in the Great Titan War. Even Marley's War with the Mid East would be cool.

TheSauceGuy

Of course. She’ll love him forever. It’s implied she married and moved on, but it doesn’t mean she ever stopped loving Eren. My boyfriend died eight years ago and a photo of us together is STILL my cover photo on Facebook. I still have his jersey that I keep in my closet and think about him regularly. Love is eternal. It transcends time and space, and it lives on long after our loved ones are gone from this realm.

Dani G

2:07:08 always funny to me that Pieck is jealous she didn't get a final paths chat with Eren because they weren't friends lmao

Justin Madlock

with people complaining about post credit scences the geks should do a post credit scene tier list haha

Marcus

Omg yes! I needed to know what was said when he visited Jean, Reiner, and Connie! Even Annie! 😭😭😭 I sadly don’t think he visited Levi because he wouldn’t have been able to erase his memory, but the others! I need it!

Dani G

Tiktok is scary, I suddenly got a notif saying Bradlynn was online

Camila

the messages at the end 😭

Kim555

he’s used to it sadly

Bradlynn Andrus

… I started crying in a restaurant reading this comment

Bradlynn Andrus

I think they wanted the authentic experience.

Artemipsyche

honestly so happy that they enjoyed this show

0Cthulhu0

never gonna get over this show

0Cthulhu0

Ngl I do really hope they don’t ever watch ahead like they did here for aot, ik it was cuz Brig was leaving but missing EVERY single post credit scene in the most important season with the most important ones it actively took away from the experience for both us and the girls. Like 4x24 was real bad. Usually I don’t care but 5 people sitting on the coach that already seen it and no one locked in even once.

m1gz

Carter's zero reaction to Bradlynn's mini crash out at 1:01 is killing me 😂😂

Ollie

Carter if you skip one more post credit scene 😭😭

Illumi

Reaction to the bonus ending scene in the movie release of the finale?

TerraZetzz

dawg yall literally just skipped the post credits scenes. BRO WHAT THE HELL

Thelcia

GIRLLL I KNOWWWW, I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO ITTT

Thelcia

before i watch, i just want to thank you guys for the ride. It has been an amazing journey and im glad i got to witness it.

Marcus

Ooh! Your Name would be fantastic for them!

Betty H

aint no way they skipped the post credits scenes again. im actually dead

lyss

God I don't remember being so emotional during the ending on my first... 3 watches lol but during everyone's reunions and Levi talking to Erwin and the scouts, Eren admitting everything to Armin and then Historia's speech, I was holding back tears the whole time. But I'm just amazed how insanely hard the girls cooked with this series, not just the theories throughout but even while emotionally drained they still grasped the meaning of the ending better than a lot of people do even today after watching it years ago or even reading it even longer ago.

Kasumii_

I've seen a video where someone pointed out something that I quite liked and I think makes the ending ultimately hopeful. The cycle started by Ymir coming into contact with "Life", happened with her in a state of pain and fear, fleeing from her death. This new cycle starts with the kid with his dog in a state of curiosity and wonder. Maybe that means the next cycle gets to be one defined by better emotions, rather than being doomed so unavoidably to pain and fear by the emotions that created the titans. "life" is just pure potential and simply moved in the direction Ymir's emotions dictated, fulfilling her deepest desires. So a kid hoping for something different might mean all that potential goes in a good direction instead. The cycle repeats, but maybe, just maybe, it gets to be better this next time.

Skillerfish

We need a Great Titan War movie trilogy!!

GreetswithJudgement

I still love the ending. I think fans just wanted more but I find it to be as satisfying as it can get. Thinking more selfishly I would have wanted a statue of Erwin made for Eldia, in comparison to Helos in Marley, Erwin being an actual hero and the other being propaganda. I would have wanted to see the conversations/memories Eren had with all of his friends as the credits rolled. It didn’t have to be long but to see him with each one of his friends one last time would have been amazing. But that’s just me being selfish. It wouldn’t change what I think of the story, it’s just what I would have wanted.

GreetswithJudgement

huh

The opening scene was heavily foreshadowed in the first chapter of the manga which I think was deliberately removed from the cannon episode of the anime (see you later eren scene). They instead show this scene in the beginning of the movie instead, but if you look closely you can see its an older version of mikasa saying itterrashai eren when the young eren wakes up from the dream, thus asking mikasa did you cut your hair. In this sequence @01:48:33 , Mikasa experiences a vision or alternate reality through the Paths, a metaphysical dimension that connects all Eldians. In this vision, she and Eren are living together peacefully in a cabin, away from the war and conflict, representing a "what-if" scenario where they ran away together instead of following the path of the Rumbling. This moment is deeply emotional and tied to Mikasa’s struggle with her love for Eren and her resolve to stop him for the sake of humanity. The vision is orchestrated by Eren through his control of the Founding Titan’s powers in the Paths, where time is non-linear, allowing him to share these moments with Mikasa. It’s not a literal event in the real world but a significant moment in the Paths that reflects their bond and influences Mikasa’s final decision to kill Eren, ending the Rumbling and freeing Ymir from her curse. This scene is consistent with the manga (Chapter 138) and was adapted in the anime’s final special, which is part of the compilation film Attack on Titan: The Last Attack. The vision is foreshadowed earlier in the series, notably in the manga’s first chapter, where Eren wakes up crying after seeing Mikasa say, “See you later, Eren,” tying into this alternate reality.

They always get me with Hange sacrifice and then Erwin scene it's the twist to the knife

Frieren would be a comforting experience after AOT 2.0 because if they add Bleach or another long show, they might miss Frieren Season 2 or make some stressful compromises in watch schedules.

DontFailArtSchoolEren

The messages in AoT of showing the viewers over and over and over again that people never learn and will always conflict over something, cycle of violence and seeing it reflected in our own real world and in our history books but still continuing it is a disgusting realization. You accept that this cycle will never end yet want people to experience it when they never signed up for any of this and all the problems that our past generations created. Even the show is showing in the future that their efforts to continue existing are eventually stopped in some form of destruction (wars, getting nuked), all those generations, for nothing. If you cannot envision or guarantee a future where humanity lives free from war, free from disease, free hunger, free from inequality...why introduce more people to play this meaningless game? Eren just kicked the can a little further because of his selfish desires for his friends and Eldians to experience this procreation game without enemies since he couldnt achieve 100% rumbling to start fresh in a world for only Eldians. If every single person on Earth had hindsight that the Sun will cause a humanity ending event in 50 years, why would anyone want to bring more life knowing its all ending, so apply that to everything we know now, our limited resources, our planet, our sun, our galaxy, we are just kicking the can until it hits a wall or a cliff. If no one else can find evidence of our history, our struggle, our existence, its like we never existed at all, nobody else is validating humanity's efforts and suffering. Just look at all the unknown alien life in the universe that we dont know about, all the things that come in and out of existence daily. The Eldians can still live peacefully and happily despite being the last generation if the euthanization plan worked, the founder can alter memories and biology so the Eldians may not even know the concept of procreation so they wont be scared. Zeke came to the conclusion from everything he saw in the world, that they were on the losing side, Eldian oppression, slavery, born in a disadvantaged situation where the entire world thinks you are devils. Zeke finally had the power to make a difference, an act that GUARANTEES and removes Eldians from participating in this cycle of violence procreation game but lets his survival mechanisms and Armin overrule his logic in the conversation despite spending a long time in the Paths fortifying his convictions. Of course Zeke found joy and happiness in throwing and catching balls, he should've known Dopamine is one of the many evolutionary tricks to get you to keep procreating. Humans evolved in many ways to "fill in the gaps" between procreation and death, creating sports, art, music, science, entertainment, drugs, food etc to keep us alive long enough to love someone and procreate. Existence only cares about avoiding extinction, not how pretty diamonds are or how cool AoT was but humans eventually had concepts of morality and ethics so being aware of this cycle means our choices matter now and we stop becoming slaves to our biological programming. Obviously no one wants to know they are intentionally ending their bloodline but eventually someday someone will have to experience that depressing thought or is abruptly taken away like the BILLIONS of people that died from the Rumbling or the many conflicts and natural disasters before that in history. Trying to have a happy meaningful life only matters once you exist in the world, you are born with an insatiable amount of hopes and dreams that the world cannot supply to everyone. Yes this is depressing but the quicker we realise extinction happens to every bug, every animal, every star, every galaxy the better.

wait you guys watched the last attack movie but didn't want to watch the post credit scene ??

Yeah right, I feel like it's a must 😂 that would be great

Ollie

the end credit scene is hard to watch when so many devastating wars have started in our real world over the last few years. Makes it that much more powerful of a story to wrestle with though

Brianna Tsao

? This is just one show on their roster. There’s still others, and this would really open up one other slot

Isiah Paul

Carter has become the best at skipping post credit scenes 😂😂😭 Please when you guys get together again for the discussion watch it 😭

ill never forget manga mfs hyping this ending up to be the worst thing ever in fiction, such a horrible take, the ending is as good as it gets imo it gives u your "happy" ending along with the inevitable sad ending

kuza

Super random compared to all the sweet and profound and grateful comments...buuuut whatever Jack is drinking looks tasty af lmfao i need that

jblakk

I think the author have left space for an open ending but if you see carefully on Mikasa when she died, you can see a ring on her finger covered by the flowers

노바

Thank you for the 2nd journey on AOT. You guys are my favorite reactors and I'm so glad that you guys are doing the OP and ED rankings again! Would it be possible to add ED "itterasshai" this time? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU2KGyQgso4&list=RDDU2KGyQgso4&start_radio=1) this link is the best video version of it Also AOT Jr, I'm hyped!! I wish you guys also reacted to the post-credit video of the final episode

노바

1:49:29 My god, just explain it to them. Anything is better than them just being lost and confused. That vision is what could have happened had Mikasa expressed to Eren her true feeling about him that night in Marley instead of saying "We're family".

Terry C

The other crazy thing is how the “scout heaven” where hange sees erwin and the others is shown to have the colossal footprints so basically a world flattened by titans

Reading Comprehension

I keep thinking about how Hange choosing to go out like that was probably just suicide and a way to exit her burdening role as commander, something she never wanted to be. In the end she died among what she’s loved since s1, the titans. Rip goat

Reading Comprehension

REINER MY GOAT

kuza

at least theres the review and openings and endings soon 🙏🏻 also aot jr high! certainly not for everyone im sure, but as someone who also read the mangas for some healing way back when, im def curious to see how the geks enjoy it lol

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨

definitely part of what makes it so awful...you consume this media and watch the cycle and how it impacts everyone and everything in the story, and also have to grasp that as much as human history looks similar, things like this are still happening across our globe at this very moment...people are still breeding hatred and fostering resentment, while at the same time trying to (or maybe even without trying to) finding meaning in the small moments of life - as much as world peace seems entirely impossible, it certainly doesn't mean we should stop trying either

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨

The girls are so real for that, because I definately can't watch the last attack without crying several times 🤚🏻😭 the rumbling, hange, armin's self hatred, the baby being passed along the sea of people even as its mother and everyone before it falls from the cliffs, the end... just everything 😭😭 also riley was locked /in/ when she spotted floch like that, lol - and her 'yeah, grab him by the hair!' during eren and armin's fight got a little smile out of me even under the circumstances lmao

Saki 🏴‍☠️✨

As a manga reader, I felt vindicated by the amount of anime watchers that loved the ending lol. I mean, people can not like something but for awhile after the manga ended, it was like a bloodbath every time you tried discussing the ending or if you so much as express your like of the ending 😅

Lalisa Truong

if watching this show from the start to the end does not make you think about the current conflict and genocide that are happening in our world right now, I dont know what else

Rafidar Rahman

The AoT reactions are over?! No! I wanted them to go on! Ten years at least!

Gestrid

Those texts at the end... so valid. There is definitely a second wind with this show, where its like damn I really just saw all that and now its over. Also, Eve 'probably failed' lmao, we've all been there.

Ante

Personally I don’t think Mikasa and Jean got together. It makes more sense that it is old Armin and old Mikasa visiting Eren in the picture, because there is another woman waiting alone next to them which might be Armins wife. For me it makes more sense to see all three of them together under „their“ tree. But not making it 100% certain leaves it for everyones interpretation which I respect

Adonis

I always wanted to say this before that you guys have to watched the end credit scene song with lyrics, it's much more sad when you guys read the lyrics too.

Yusuf Riyandi

Peak anime. I love lots of other anime’s but AOT will always be the best in my opinion

That was AMAZINGHGGGG! Soooo happy you all got together for a rewatch! Omg I feel like maybe they'd like Vinland Saga or JJK :p

What about MUSIC reactions??

Their children need to escape the forest that is Gek AoT rewatches lol.

THE TEXT MESSAGES! Okay, but no, this was me too. I was so depressed after this. It lived rent-free in my head for so long. Like..I will never be over this show.

Dani G

Any Studio Ghibli movie tbh. Princess Mononoke is my favorite, closely followed by Spirited Away. Grave of the Fireflies is incredible, but it has a more realistic portrayal of the world. I've always liked Ghibli films for their ability to create such fantastical worlds.

TheSauceGuy

I have to agree with Cannon. I too think this is the best story ever written.

Dani G

He's on a legendary streak, like seriously wtf was bro doing lmaoo

dimitris athanasiou

Well, he lived up to the speech in some ways, but not in others. Erwin's speech was meant to inspire the recruits to get themselves killed. Erwin wouldn't have wanted the lives of his comrades to have been given so that the Rumbling could happen. I have a few moral qualms with Erwin, but he certainly wasn't the type to mercilessly kill any potential resistance like Floch.

Hector

Carter is the GOAT at skipping post-credits scenes. How do you watch The Last Attack and not watch that scene? 😭

TheSauceGuy

Die with a smile edits were so great and emotional, though I don’t know if the girls care about eremika so I don’t know if they would care about those edits, I hope they do lol

Slizzle

Idk why, but I'm laughing just imagining Eve crying about AoT while driving.

TheSauceGuy

Eren and mikasa were in the paths cabin for like 4 years, I’m sure they did much more than just kiss lol

Slizzle

Also love your guys content been watching for years recently on Patreon. Looking forward to one piece week

Chris Schwirz

4th time watching 2nd with studio gek and I feel like I found something profound with the race between eren mikasa armin. It’s supposed to be a metaphor for life. EREN is looking for the finish line that’s why he’s charging in first. This represents death because it’s freedom from life and suffering. MIKASA is chasing eren which is love. She’s constantly trying to validate her feelings towards eren never knowing if they are real ie/ headaches, season 2 finale not kissing him, you’re my family line. ARMIN is last and chasing meaning/purpose he’s constantly trying to figure out why he’s chasing them or why he was the one chosen or why he’s weak. Using this thought process other scenes make a ton more sense like why Ymir ended everything just because of Mikasa. They were both chasing love that was causing suffering but too afraid to let go. In the end they all help each other see the true purpose of life which is that the future is unknown and there’s simply nothing you can do about that. So in the end they all actually became free.

Chris Schwirz

This rewatch for the boys and first time watch for the girls has been so much fun. The post aot depression is so real every time. I'm so glad the girls enjoyed the show, it's a special story for sure. I remember when they were doubting it because it's anime lol, but I totally get it.

Twilightzoned

For many months after the finale, aot was living rent free in my head, I cried about it while driving to work and driving back to home or in my bed so many many times, it was stupid how much I was obsessed with it, so I’m kinda glad I’ve finally moved on and can watch the finale without it destroying me emotionally, although I still tear up a bit while watching some parts of it, needless to say, no piece of media has ever impacted me to this degree, I love this story and its characters to death

Slizzle

I hope we get to see the girls continue their anime journey soon with Vinland Saga. I'd also be down to see their reaction to a very different show, like a battle oriented shounen, such as Jujutsu Kaisen.

Matthew Hunt Davies

eren be napping on his grave

indy

in the english version in erens final conversation with armin he says something like jean already being first in line for mikasa or somthing!! i can’t remember exactly but they were so cheeky for that

indy

Eren really is the embodiment of a hero who has fallen from grace. It’s such a raw and unexpected twist on what you’d normally see in a shonen anime. The amount of emotional weight and layered themes here is genuinely insane

Tivy

The brain remains alive for about 3 minutes after decapitation, so I think Eren actually brought her into the PATHS one last time for that final kiss, which is like..😭

Dani G

I WANT AOT REWATCHES FOR TEN YEARS, AT LEAST!

TheSauceGuy

Nah i think we got one more review

Lorenzo Myazoe

I'd like to think the parasite (if alive in the tree) attaches to the dog at the end. One can only imagine what possible powers the dog would wish for lol. If it were like my dog, it'd probably just want to be able to make food appear out of thin air, and be able to eat said food forever.

TheSauceGuy

I felt the same way but manga version. I read the ending and strongly disliked it, but watching it as it came out and with you guys, my opinion on the ending changed and I understood the deeper meaning behind it.

Lorenzo Myazoe

I remember the manga readers set a precedent in my mind of what this finale would be, claiming Isayama fumbled it so hard and gave us an ending worse than even the likes of season 8 GOT, and then..instead, I witnessed what was thematically and logically the perfect finale. These last two episodes are incredible and wrap up the series flawlessly.

Dani G

All true except I really believe that wether she got together with someone or not is left up for interpretation, we really don’t have anything canon on that, I don’t it think matters anyway, a 19 year old doesn’t deserve to stay their whole life alone because of their dead love, and if she did stay alone that’s her decision and I would respect it too, all we know for sure is that she had undying love for him forever

Slizzle

the first scene with him shows him looking up at a bird too lol

TheSauceGuy

Been an honour to rewatch this masterpiece with you all 🫡 Please bring the girls back for more anime reactions 😭 There's so many shows I'm sure they'd enjoy.

Alex

“Idk why everyone is so emotional…Eren and Mikasa got married, had beautiful babies (Armin was such a fun uncle) and lived till they were 100 years old!!!” - i say as they drag me to a white room 😭 But jokes aside, i’m so happy the girls watched this, i’ve loved their opinions, predictions and funny reactions. Also, i hope they’ve seen the Die With a Smile edits on tik tok it quite literally makes my heart hurt 😍

Daniella

Will another show replace this?

Den Wolf

💯💯💯

Dani G

Loved the reactions! Such a cool experience getting to watch others enjoy this masterpiece for the first time! Hopefully, yall can get together and some other shows!

Michael Ballinger

What a journey! Thank you guys. I enjoyed the series with u a lot, and I especially love the girls' genuine reaction & theories throughout the episodes. This is my first time leaving a comment here. It's my fourth time watching AOT but the ending still got me crying like a baby, sigh. Guess I'll never get over the show for the rest of my life. Also the screenshot of the messages at the very end of the video tho, so relatable 😂

Rachel Hsu

I love it how Levi was the one who gave them both Erwin and Hange their final push

Romy Gaming

Vinland saga next pleaseeee make it happen!

Yam

This scene always give me chills also his scene with Reiner when he calls him a scout or his scene with Connie when they accepted their death Goated character and great development

Romy Gaming

I LOVE that jean got his moment with one of the most goated aot songs!!! isayamas fav for real

indy

Eren’s outburst about Mikasa is a culmination of emotions he had been suppressing for over four years. Throughout the story, we’re given glimpses of his true feelings moments like the cart scene, him lingering in her memory, asking her “What am I to you?”, lying that he hated her, asking Zeke about her, and even telling Falco about a girl By the time Eren was in Liberio, he had already accepted that he would go through with the Rumbling. That decision made him emotionally distant and detached because he knew what he was about to do was horrifying. In the table scene, he tries to sever ties with his friends to protect them from being associated with the atrocities he would commit. Eren is an extremely self-aware character. He felt guilt, but ultimately, his desire for freedom and the belief that this was the only path won out. So when Armin asks, “How did it go with Mikasa?”, and Eren responds with, “I don’t know,” it’s more than just a vague answer. It reflects the uncertainty, the pain, and the emotional burden he’s carried. Then Armin punches him, and we see Eren’s emotional dam break. His outburst is raw and deeply human he’s a young man on the brink of death, burdened with the belief that his friends will hate him, that he’ll never be able to be with them again, and most of all, that he’ll never be with Mikasa. So it’s supposed to be pathetic as Armin says it because he was going to die and he had to let it all out to his best friend.

Romy Gaming

Yeah so what happens to Paradis happens far in the future. Could be hundreds of years later or even thousands (if you consider what the song name is titled, "To you 2000...or 20000 years later") of years later. Naturally, there were a lot of people that felt upset or disappointed by that end credits because it felt like "it was all for nothing". As depressing as it is, it does well to illustrate life and the cycle very well. Even without the threat of titans, people still found a reason to go to war with each other. I mean, just look at our own real world right now. People never learn and will always conflict over something. Everything just repeats again, but it's not all pointless as shown by Zeke and Armin's entire conversation. War and hate may never truly end but at least what Eren did succeed in imo was ending the titans and providing a long, happy life for most of his friends. Which he did. Again, what later happens in the far future has no impact on the main cast so I can't say it was all pointless. It does not invalidate what they all did. In the grand scheme of things, I guess it is pointless (and you can argue about that in our every day lives honestly), but for this moment and a good chunk of time after, it was not. They all got to live out their lives peacefully before passing. Mikasa even died of old age... As for the possibility of the titans returning? Maybe or maybe not. The only reason titans existed in the first place was as Zeke said, it was Ymir's wish to have a bigger, stronger and undying body at that time to protect herself. And it was a power born out of fear and misery. Who knows what wish this new kid entering the tree may have? Or it could've just been a visual metaphor showing the overall passage of time and how the cycle continues. Even before the fast forward of Paradis building up and later getting bombed, I believe the German words said at some point in the song was "history repeats itself".

Lalisa Truong

So glad you three have enjoyed and reached the finale! This has been a crazy place for y'all to start your anime journeys because the number of shows capable of matching/surpassing the power of AOT is not great haha

Guy

between this and the naruto episodes that are coming, this boutta be the hottest friday night on the patreon

Pulse rifles suck in pve

Ooooo heck yeah. Maybe there IS some hope for the future!

Guy

To be fair, when I first saw the manga panel for that scene I also cracked up seeing her kissing Eren's head with Ymir standing awkwardly in the background. 🧍‍♂️

Guy

Reiner stated Eren wanted someone to end his suffering. Eren also stated he did it so Armin and the others could be portrayed as the heroes who stopped Eren from ending the world

Zu

Now y'all might recognize the infamous meme: "NO I DON'T WANT THAT! I WANT ______! FOR TEN YEARS AT LEAST"

Guy

Long comment incoming: Aot is a GOAT anime contender. But after a second watch I still find Eren’s reason for not deactivating their titan powers unsatisfying. If his ultimate goal is for the people of Paradis to be free from the world’s oppression, then by letting Armin and them use their titan powers he’s just going against his own goal by making it possible for his friends to stop him. Or is he saying that the freedom of his friends is more important than the fate of the Island? This always bothered me. Seems like a lame reason for the rumbling to fail when he could’ve just deactivated their powers and freed Paradis permanently. Unless deep down he didn’t actually want the rumbling to work. Which I guess is possible but also kinda lame. I think once you write a character to be genocidal it’s kind of cheap to add a condition of “I’ll only genocide if my friends have the ability to stop me”. It’s like Hajime Isayama couldn’t commit to giving Eren a completely evil ending so he added that “freedom of my friends” condition to the genocide. Maybe I’m wrong idk. 🤷🏿‍♂️

1999

That moment with Jean and Reiner is SO underrated. Such a powerful moment of both camaraderie and forgiveness.

Sherya

YES i saw this on tiktok and it made me cry more 😭 this show is so mean

eve richards

There’s a theory that the reason Eren’s eyes change colour from blue to green and in between all throughout the series is because Armin is slowly forgetting what his best friend looks like as he looks back on this history to narrate it. 😭

Dani G

thanks 💖 i was able to graduate so it all worked out hahaha aot gave me strength <3

eve richards

I love the OST for this show so much 😭 would love to see the gek girls react to Your Name!! Also for the post show discussion in July- do they try to get people to watch AOT now or are they still embarrassed to say they are watching anime 😂

After..maybe 20x rewatch since feb this year, i dont just cry on the ending anymore.. i feel like everytime i watch this, im with eren seeing every single memory and each time it breaks my heart to see everything.. this story is so cruel to my emotions, but it's also very beautiful..

Those text messages at the end are so relatable. Sorry guys, I actually stopped watching the reactions halfway through s3 because I knew my mental could not take it again. I can never get through s4 again for the life of me. I have to skip from somewhere in s3 to the movie reactions on every channel to save my heart and sanity.

86 LilaS

I love Annie and Armin. That is all. Nothing else to say on that.

Dani G

just wanted to say, especially as someone who's pretty camera shy, i really appreciate the energy the girls brought to the reactions. it's insanely cliche to say but it really does feel like episode 1 dropped not too long ago rewatch really hit different. aot might be the exception but i'd personally be down to see other rewatches as well in the future. assuming this is his last appearance for the foreseeable future, big s/o to brig o7

Kiyoh

you guys need to watch the post credit scene

Gamerguyri

I personally love that the story doesn’t shy away from showing exactly what the rumbling looks like from the perspective of the other side nor attempt to minimize the brutality. The rumbling is truly a terrifying apocalyptic event and the largest scale war crime possible and it serves the themes of the stories well to display it as every bit as horrific as it is. The scene with Ramzi and Eren is always so gut wrenching because not only has that sweet boy, and many others, done nothing wrong and died for only the crime of being born outside of the island, but we saw the characters bond with these people. It hits hard.

Dani G

the way I always saw it was that even with godlike powers eren could fulfil his mission of ridding the titans from humanity but you can NEVER separate violence from humanity because that's what humans are

ethan tanner

Mikasa doesn’t get enough credit for the choice she made. If I had to choose between killing the person I love most in the world or the rest of the world, I would have just gone off to wallow in my misery and let someone else deal with that shit. That’s too much to put on one person. She may have killed Eren, but she didn’t love him any less. That husband of hers was forever competing with a dead man seeing as she still visited until her death and then got buried next to him.

86 LilaS

cant believe it's over....

Chandler Smith

I cried so hard when Hange died. She was not only such a loveable character, but she was one of their mentors who played such a fundamental role in their growth within their formative years. The scouts lost so many mentors close to kin: Hannes, Pyxis, Erwin, Hange, Shadis. The only one to survive was Levi, and Hange was essentially the other half of the yin-yang duo that was her and Levi. The way she died too breaks my heart. Burned alive to save everyone, and still as awestruck by titans as the day she first discovered them right up until they killed her.

Dani G

When you guys react to the openings and endings pretty please use this playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL17zelK_ph61XXq5ec06BjNQLQ4XQDDws

m1gz

yes. Mikasa was brought into the paths in real time and her memory wasn't wiped. In this moment all she wanted to do was run away with Eren and regretted what she had said when Eren asked "What am I to you" so they lived out Erens last 4 years as a "what if" scenario in the paths. Here it became obvious to her that this wasn't an option, neither of them would be happy about this scenario at all. This is what gave her her determination to end it.

kiiturii

Crazy I joined the Patreon for this series

Gabriel camacho

So excited to watch this! Before I do just wanted to say a quick thank you to both the Gek guys and girls for the ride. Over a year ago I was actually an anime hater too, but a clip from your original reaction series popped up on my feed and got me curious. I decided to give it a shot and Aot ended up becoming my favorite piece of media ever. This time around having the girls join in for the rewatch and being able to follow along week by week has been such a fun journey. Really appreciate all the content you guys put out, this whole series has been awesome.

Tivy

I’ll save this till I’m ready. It still hurts so much thinking about the end.

Vallll

I know right! i was looking forward to it since no one has seen it

Nrock23

They didn't watch the post credit scene. I'm in shambles

Nrock23

Can't believe the journey is actually over (again) I cannot wait for the full discussion after yall have had time to reflect, looking forward to it

kiiturii

2:31:48 DAMN CANNON that's huge, but I definitely agree

kiiturii

Ahhh man... I swear i get more emotional every rewatch. Peak fiction, until we meet again AOT. o7 Also the group chat message at the end is so relatable lmao.

Skyz

Well said!

2:30:30 Carter is speaking so much facts right here.. If you can handle it, you can see all the beauty between the darkness. The world is cruel yet so so beautiful like Mikasa always said. I always loved how grounded this show feels, it really puts you through hell, but if you make it through you emerge on the other side with so many lessons learned.

In a weird way, im glad yall are done with AOT, so yall can into different anime and movies because there's so much I want yall to react to. Will miss the girls though and their discussions hope they show up some more ✨️

Isiah Paul

I always liked the ending because I thought it was realistic. It showed that the cycle of war would never be broken, but I was at least happy that the characters we care about didn't have to fight anymore and live the rest of their lives in peace. There's something about seeing "The End" on the screen that always gets to me. It was one thing finishing the manga, but at the time the anime was still going on and I had that to look forward to. Finishing the anime and not seeing "to be continued" which I was so accustomed to at that point was quite emotional but at least the show is still there to revisit over and over again❤️ Thank you for all the reactions, I've really enjoyed watching all the girls' reactions and hearing their thoughts and can't wait to see you all again in July (my birthday month🙌🏾)

Tamara Manley

I don't usually cry when watching media, anime or otherwise, but Hange's death was one of the few instances where I've found myself bawling my eyes out. Levi's realisation that he's losing yet another comrade (he's already lost so many) just adds to the devastation too; not to mention the music playing over it as well. AOT definitely is a one of one and I don't think I'll ever come across a piece of media that will have the same level of emotional gravity as this show continues to have, especially on multiple rewatches.

Creed🎭

Okay hear me out... Just listen for a minute. Watch Armin go off on himself @ 1:22:00 in Dub... Just once, nothing else haha. Will always give me chills. Every. Single. Time. It HITS WAAYYYYY different, IMO

KilaNIX93

Did Ymir just allow Eren to bypass the whole "Ackermans are immune to having their memories manipulated by the Founder" thing? If not, then did Mikasa spend four years with Eren within the Paths right before she was about to kill him? If so, it must've felt surreal to kill Eren right after coming out of the Paths. I was also confused in S4 when Zeke simply went around the "vow renouncing war" without it being explained. I feel like some of these established rules are too easily set aside without much explanation. Edit: Oh, the girls ended up bringing this up; that's cool to see.

TheSauceGuy

I would've liked to see Porco/Marcel's parents, Bertoldt's mother, or even Reiner's father at Fort Salta. Any of these characters could've introduced some other interesting perspectives that we didn't get to see. Unfortunately, only the parents of the Marleyan Eldians who survived are shown.

Its just a way of adding meaning and coping with our existence, Life has been trying to perfect ways to make sure it keeps surviving each generation, words like "Hope", "Dreams", "Aspirations", the dopamine and other brain chemicals released when do pointless things keeps us from ending our species. Since the powers stopped existing, it would take generations longer to do what Zeke wanted to do sooner to guarantee Eldians can escape this suffering just like Ymir finally did. Of course its "depressing" we are suppose to know its bad because its the enemy of Life, we have a choice to follow or accept defeat.

DontFailArtSchoolEren

The first time I saw the ending I wasn’t sure how to feel either…definitely some mixed emotions. The ending is a sleeper and will make you cry randomly afterwards for no reason. Like why am I crying over this for the 15th time. The more I watch the ending, the more I just absolutely love it.

I wonder what my Mondays will look like now

They didn’t understand annie and her dad’s relationship lol I hope they dive into that in the discussion

I just realized after seeing this show for the 3rd time Mikasa died wearing the scarf in the credit scene. Eren wanted 10 years? The mans been in her head rent free for life. smh

Acebes

Thanks GeksDeluxe! Man, Hange's death always get me. The end always get me... This rewatch was so good. The Gek Girls reactions were awesome, all throughout the anime. This was the best experience to date.

jrnoodles

Traitor playing in the back, Levi flying through Armin’s broken skull and sending the last thunder-spears towards Eren and then yeeting out of the scene with Mikasa flying in is my favorite scene of the entire episode! I can watch a million times.

GreetswithJudgement

1:40:03 I think this scene is shown here to hint that the Beast Titan's power was transferred to Historia's newborn child. For a short amount of time, we had another Beast Titan with royal blood. While you may initially expect it to represent a new Founder after the explosion, Eren is not dead by this point.

TheSauceGuy

1:39:33 Ksaver's titan in this scene visually reminds me of the "Devil of All Earth" that we were told created the titan powers earlier in the story.

TheSauceGuy

You guys have to react to the Extra Post credit scene you missed, that was Exclusive to the movie. If you'd just listened to Cannon and waited 1 second before Stopping 😭😭

Alannah Caldwell

Thanks for this series folks, you are the best. And the girls were great with their reactions and thoughts, it was amazing!

Jr high would be actually good watch i think for healing purposes. I didn't really watch every episode but it was pretty funny

Attack on Titan is one of the most popular and important mediums to ask such meaningful questions about humanity because we have a choice. Even Carter (and seemingly most of the couch) acknowledges its unrealistic or almost impossible to have "everlasting peace", Zeke was right in Life trying everything it can to survive and adapt to escape death and extinction, that includes having "Hope" and "Motivations and "Ambitions" to fight off the thoughts that living is meaningless in its entirety. In hindsight Zeke's plan to remove titan powers from the world by freeing Eldians from such a cycle of violence and suffering like Ymir finally gone with way less destruction and trauma caused by Erens plan was the logical choice given the power Zeke had at the time. Carter is wrong, they ARE subjecting their kids to the cycle by existing in a world that has a cycle of violence, of course we would hope they have happy lives as they are now existing but it wasnt exactly peaceful living in Eldia either because the Jeagerists militant groups most likely had conflicts and civil wars in its future history and the racism and hatred still existed. Pushing people into existence with the hope they can make the world a better place is a very selfish and unnecessary goal that only mattered once they are born. We saw the outcome of continuing the "fight", it ends in destruction and all the generational efforts to "end all fighting" get welcomed with wars and nukes, Zeke was prepared to accept that losing is okay, to give up and not carry such a burden of living and procreating but was so easily tricked by human emotions despite spending a maddening amount of time to think it all over in the Paths. We create and give things meaning, sports, art, music, entertainment and in turn increase the likelihood we fall in love and procreate, thats the survival mechanism we use. If everlasting peace is an impossible task why are we still participating in this procreation game, you are a slave to procreation if you cant accept its "depressing" or any other scary word that Life would use to avoid death and extinction.

DontFailArtSchoolEren

No it is the ghost of Zeke imparting his secret ass wiping technique.

ssj4rit

Zeke and Armin talking about the meaning of life is such a beautiful and underrated moment in the entire series. The leaf and ball…simple things matter so much!

GreetswithJudgement

There are a few frames in the ending when a blonde old man is shown in front of Eren and Mikasa's graves under the tree. I imagine this is Armin, who's the last of the trio left alive; he was always last after all.

TheSauceGuy

Falco is generational talent

Trevor

Exactly 😭! I was so annoyed they missed the extra end credits, they better watch it at some point in the future!

Alannah Caldwell

This scene was actually foreshadowed way back in the flashback where we see Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt and notably, Dina visibly ignores Bertholdt. We’re reminded multiple times by characters like Jean that “if his mother hadn’t died, Eren wouldn’t have started the Rumbling.” But the point of this twist is to show that it wasn’t just circumstance it was Eren’s nature that drove him forward. At his core, Eren has always been the same: deeply empathetic, capable of forming real bonds and caring for others yet he also harbors a darkness. Everyone has a devil inside them, and in Eren’s case, his devil won. Eren and Zeke are almost perfect opposites in the nature vs nurture debate, which makes their dynamic so compelling.

Romy Gaming

The scene with the baby at the cliff never fails to make me tear up.

TheSauceGuy

It's cool how Armin gets all of the known shifters he saw in the Paths to help stop Eren. Nobody else who has experienced the world outside of the island wants the Rumbling to continue.

TheSauceGuy

Lmao at the guys' reaction to Connie saying Annie has fought enough. I always thought that line made no sense. But I guess you can look at it from the perspective that everyone here has fought enough, so it's their choice to continue or not. Every one of them has been through it, even Annie, so if Annie can't do anymore, that's her choice.

Flubbedsquid

eren cant erase mikasas memories so he visisted her in real time when she was on falco which is why she saw it then and not after his death

Jordan Crossley

Again. For the last time in this re watch series. RIP Floch. He died fighting for his beliefs and he truly lived up to commander Erwin’s speech . He DID NOT BUCKLE OR YIELD WHEN FACED WITH THE CRUELTY OF THIS WORLD 🗣️

Tony Garcia

"When Eren died, what did Riley do? Did she cry? Did she regret her actions? She laughed."

This was amazing but now it’s time to watch a new series with the gek girls!!!

Not a lot of people are gonna read this, but you cooked. Especially the Mikasa stuff, which not a lot of people get still. I wonder if you frequent the AOT subreddits, I feel like I recognize some of these paragraphs as comments I had seen in the past and am curious if you had saved them and used them in your analysis (not an accusation, just interesting lol)

dimitris athanasiou

Ymir entered the tree with fear, sadness, loneliness, and anger. The boy enters the tree with awe, wonder, innocence, and companionship. Zeke makes clear, Ymir sort of built up what she felt she needed from her newfound power. Even if the parasite is still in there, chances are there won’t be a new age of titans brought about by hatred, but a new hopeful beginning. Also indicated by the beauty of the scene, no longer is the tree painted in a grim sepia tone, but a stunning Ghibli-eqsue scene.

Romy Gaming

The groupchat messages at the end are very relatable lmao. Having started AoT when S1 first aired and following the anime for 10 years it holds a special place in my heart and I cried for a couple hours when I fully realized that my favorite show was actually over. Shit hit me like a truck man

We brandish our swords with the heat of hatred Is this our fate or our will? Oh that makes sense. Never saw it that way

Nice to see all the positivity in the chat about the ending. A lot of stuff has been talked to death already like Eren related topics so I won't get into it. His character is so insanely analyzed that nowadays in 2025 most people who've watched AOT kind of understand him, which is not something you could say back when the manga ended. Of course, the anime ending changes Isayama wrote himself spoonfed things more to the audience among other things. One thing I will mention again is the whole Dina thing. It is an amazing twist, because it highlights the irony and hypocrisy behind Eren's character, that he is his own worst enemy. The cyclicality of the story is fully represented in this story beat both on an individual character level and a holistic thematic sense: Eren traps himself in a loop of suffering and causality due to his obsession with freedom, ironically enslaving himself in the process, and he is both perpetrator and victim of the cycle of violence on a macro level. It is simply brilliant, and it is a shame so many people to this day hate this twist. It's similar in concept to the Grisha twist, reinforcing similar themes and aspects of Eren's character. I think many people hate it because they have a superficial understanding of Eren's character, i.e. that his sole motivation was avenging his mother, or that it is what made him want to "fight" as a kid, which is so easily debunked by merely watching the show that it's not worth addressing. Like, no analysis required, just have to watch some scenes again lol. I think on a rewatch the Ymir stuff is also fairly obvious, or maybe that's just me being so used to analyzing her. Like there's so many reminders of her "love/connection" motivations both in her own episode and in these specials, it is kind of impossible to miss it. I remember predicting that earlier into the story, and being shocked when I found out how much the internet didn't like it/foresee it. However, I will go over two somewhat underappreciated scenes with her that can go unnoticed even on a rewatch: 1) Her freeing the pig with that devious smile and then looking at the Alliance. This is important characterization since for starters, it establishes her mischievous and rebellious nature, that she does seek to be "free", and her looking/observing the Alliance follows up on that concept and Armin's line "She must be searching something from us". Ymir uses the Alliance, and Armin, to figure herself out, something that she achieves thanks to Armin and Zeke's conversation on the value of life that she was ignoring, and later with Mikasa showing Ymir the meaning of real love and how her "attachment" to the King was completely hollow and toxic, which leads into... 2) Her scene at the end. I think this is incredibly underrated, because very few people seem to remember that Mikasa's headaches were due to Ymir looking into her head trying to understand her better. That, plus Ymir thinking back on her decision to save the King and regretting, having realized thanks to all the lessons she learnt that she should've treasured and loved her kids much more, and she would've been happy. That would be her "connection", what she sought after, but she was a traumatized child caught up in a power dynamic that left her confused and chained.

dimitris athanasiou

Eren's true goal was to achieve his view of freedom by wiping out 100% of humanity beyond the Walls. Ever since Armin showed him the book about the outside world, Eren had in his head the belief that the outside world was devoid of humanity, and therefore devoid of the cruelty and ignorance that bored and restricted him in his everyday life. When Eren discovered that humanity was alive and well beyond the Walls, and also that they were generally hostile towards Paradis, he couldn't cope with the fact that the freedom he had dreamt of and sought after didn't exist. To Eren, an outside world bereft of humans - hostile or otherwise - was freedom, and when given the means to make that dream a reality, he did it, despite knowing how atrocious of an act the Rumbling was. The world outside the Walls was just like the world inside, and that disappointed and infuriated Eren to no end. This is why when Eren breaks down to Ramzi in chapter 131, he says "It's to protect the island, but it's more than that. The reality of the world outside the Walls was nothing like Armin's book. When I discovered humanity existed beyond the Walls, I was so disappointed. So I made a wish to wipe it all away. I wanted this." (Not necessarily a 1:1 quote as it's from memory, but it's pretty accurate). A partial Rumbling would be enough to protect Paradis, but a 100% Rumbling is purely to fulfil Eren's vision of an empty world, which is freedom to him. Similarly, in the final chapter/episode, Eren constantly deflects and lies to Armin about his motives for the Rumbling. When Armin presses him about if the 100% Rumbing was necessary to make them heroes, Eren changes the subject to Ymir instead of answering. When it comes to Ymir, he says everything he did was to get to the point where Mikasa would free her, but he then admits that he doesn't know what she will do. It's hardly a master plan at all. The anime makes Eren's final confession far more explicit when Armin asks if the Rumbling was truly for him and their friends, and Eren says no, even though he thought it was. In truth, the 100% Rumbling was a selfish act by Eren to achieve the freedom of an empty world he wanted. Eren's selfishness is shown as far back as chapter 100, during his conversation with Reiner. Eren gets Reiner to admit that he went through with the Paradis Island Operation because of his selfish desire to be lauded as a hero, something which Reiner in the manga says is unrelated to his environment or his upbringing. After Reiner then breaks down and begs to be killed to end his guilt, Eren merely smiles and says "I knew it. We really are the same." This directly shows that Eren has come to terms with his selfishness and is suffering from a guilty conscience, just as Reiner has. That's why in chapter 133, en route to Fort Salta, Reiner is able to relate to Eren and even suggests he wants to be stopped so that he can be judged and unburdened. That's why Eren doesn't stop his friends from killing him; he can't bring himself to stop, but he knows he is doing something evil. Also remember chapter 121 where he specifically talks about scenery and see how his eyes and face goes. If there is a retcon then was he also retconned in the paths chapter lo. The reason his character is so interesting is that he’s full of contradictions. In the anime ending, Eren says "I'm an idiot. A garden variety idiot who got his hands on power." When given what is basically omnipotence, Eren still decided to kill the entire world because it didn't match up with his naive view of freedom, rather than earnestly trying for peace. It was never about rebuilding the Eldian Empire; it wasn't that he was out of options and so genocide was the last choice to defend Paradis; it wasn't that he would destroy the world to protect his friends: it wasn't all to free Ymir. It was to fulfil his selfish dream. Everything else was incidental. Eren used his power to try fulfil his selfish desire. He knows better, but he went ahead and did it anyway. That's how much of a slave to freedom he was. He was a slave to his dream, and that's ultimately why he is wrong and is defeated in the story. his disappointment was towards the mere existence of humanity outside the world. That’s what he says. That’s why he says he’s bigger piece of half assed shit than Reiner. Eren and Reiner both hiding their true and more selfish motivations behind the more “justifiable” ones. Reiner- say that it’s to save the world (a more noble cause) but then breakdown and cry while revealing that true reason he broke into the walls was because he wanted to be a hero. Eren- say that it’s because of Eldia (a more noble cause) but then breakdown and cry revealing that the true reason as to why he wanted to do the rumbling was because he was disappointed that it was not like what he saw in Armin’s book and wanted to reach that scenery (which he does when he regress to his childish state and says “ This is freedom”) but that doesn’t mean he didn’t care to protect paradis or his friends but they came secondary. It’s the same with Erwin, he wanted to prove his father theory right, but he did care about humanity and ultimately sacrificed his dream. Reiner did the same. The fact that Eren couldn’t let go of it shows why he’s antagonist. That’s why I love his scene in the end when he says “ I don’t know why I did it, I wanted to, I wanted to flatten the world. Then we see the flashback of Grisha saying him “ You are free” that’s him saying he doesn’t know why he had this innate desire of freedom not that he didn’t know why he did it. His main motivation for the rumbling being that he wanted to get rid of humanity outside the walls is the most logical reason for it, and it’s the one that doesn’t contradict some point or action he took along the way. Whenever push comes to shove he always says “ because I was born this way, or I have been like this since birth”. While environment and experiences did have impact on Eren, but the main reason it all came to this is because of his nature. Everyone has a devil inside of them, and Eren’s one wins. The reason I say he’s wrong his not only because of his motives, but his priorities. Tbh I believe that story made it clear that genocide cannot be the answer that heroes land on, and it cannot be the the solution that solves all overarching problems. The way for the story to end is to how it did. It needs to be bittersweet. When he said that he’s stupid, the not literally saying he’s stupid, but rather it’s the way of self loathing, because of his selfish reasons Hange died. it also fits with his character. He’s started off as a typical hero who slowly fell from grace. The story of Eren’s life is a sad one. He had the agency and in the end he cared for his freinds so he gave them freedoms that led to him being stopped. So yeah he didn’t really reduce his destructive nature and he was stopped. He wasn’t slave to future memores or fate, he was slave to himself and freedom, his nature. When Eren said he tried to change things, he is not being fully honest, when Ramzi is helpless, Eren saves him because of who he is. But his desire to start the rumbling overweights his guilt, and that’s what he meant he said he tried to change the memories by not trying to save Ramzi, but he realised as memories played out that, the memories is what he wanted to happen, which he later admitted to Ramzi and cried about it. So it’s not like Eren had no choice, but rather he wanted it and is slave to his nature and himself. He’s a villain. His friends besides Armin don’t know about his selfish reasons like no one knows about Erwin besides Levi, because surely they had selfish reasons but they both cared about their people and friends. Eren is a villian with positive qualities in the end of show and he’s selfish. He’s still a tragic character tho. That was a restriction he put on himself and it’s him acting entirely rude to his nature. Also Eren didn’t know he would be stopped until he touched founder Ymir, and started the rumbling. Before then he only knew that he would start the rumbling, but he didn’t know the outcome, until he initiated the rumbling because of combined powers of founders and attack titan, he was able to exist in past/present/future simultaneously. So had his friends not been able to stop him, he would have completed the rumbling and probably they would have died in the process of stopping him. Eren didn’t know his friends would survive before the rumbling, but he knew it after he got full control of founder. As for Miaksa and Eren, Eren always had a thing for Mikasa, but because of inferiority complex, it wasnt realised until s2 ep12, where he realises how Mikasa loves him, and from that moment Eren became very soft towards her, and vowed to wrap the scarf around her as many times as she want. But the time when Eren fully realised his feelings for Mikasa was after time skip. There are many moments, like cart scene, him staying in the memory of him and Mikasa, “ what am I to you scene, him asking Zeke if she truly loves her” and in last the cabin sequence. The reason Eren pulled Mikasa into paths in real time unlike his friends was because she is Ackerman and there immune to memory wiping thing. That sequence is what if scenario, what if they both ran away and left their motives and friends, so that would happen, and they were both not happy as Mikasa said ( I shouldn’t be here) the point to make this sequence was that they love each other, but their paths are separate, while Eren wants to live with Mikasa and his friends, but he also wants to do the rumbling because of his selfish and selfless reasons. That’s why their story is tragic ( I can go in detail, but I think that’s enough to understand) so when Eren says to forget about him, and move on, then Mikasa By wraping the scarf around herself and refusing to let it go of her love for Eren, Mikasa was able to show Ymir a real and genuine demonstration of love, one that didn't bound her, Eren asked her to get rid the scarf in Paths, as if he considered himself a burden to her, but by not leting it go and still being able to kill him she showed Ymir that what impriosioned her for 2000 years of servitude towards the idea of Fritz could never be love. The idea of Mikasa keeping the scarf is precisely a demostration of her main theme, the idea of being able to perceive beauty in a cruel world, she rejects the idea that Eren as just a burden, something he himself belived in her last moments with her, she wanted to protect the last remnant of her home, and yet had the courage to do the impossible choice at the end, and yet keeping a memento, a memory, of what he meant to her. Eren gave Ymir a choice, Armin showed her to live for little and precious moments, and mikasss freed her from her love for king Fritz. In the end she imagines if she had not saved him, and lived with her daughters, she should be happy to be born like Zeke, so that’s why in the end she vanishes and is finally freed. And no Eren and mikasss doesn’t parallel Ymir and king fritz, they are foil to them…. The opposite. As for the end, the war started again after 2000 years looking from the cyberpunk city, growth of tree and the name of ending song. Even if Eren had completed the rumbling, the paradis people would go build factions, different groups, and then discrimination, and conflict will start again. The finally scene and destruction is the final commentary on human nature. It’s up to the alliance to give me meaning to-lives lost along the path we travel towards our destination, and they were successful in that. This is the ideology of the scout regiment. This is the ideology of the story. The “Hereos” must reject the global extermination. I think it’s giving the message that nothing lasts forever whether no rumbling, 80 percent or 100. The signs of infighting within Paradis are there from the moment the rumbling begins. It’s shown that it would not survive its internal struggles. Pyxis, Erwin and Kiyomi make this point at least once each. After Eldian Empire was dismantled, the Marleyans grabbed hold of it and began oppressing their opponents in the same way. Then when Marley and Paradis fell and the Yeagerist came to power, Floch grabbed the hold of the reigns and began oppressing their opponents and even his own people who disagreed with him and said to change the “old ways” and gave them choice to submit or die even those who helped advancing the Paradis. I think what he wanted to tell with the ending was that it isn’t about Eren to failing to eradicate 100 percent. The point of sci fi city at the end was to show that the world moved past the rumbling but there will be some conflicts for humans to wage wars over. The story had expanded beyond the survival of humanity within the walls. Eren and Floch they are making the world smaller. ending all races and every external conflict is what the story and alliance rejects. Because it isn’t just about cycle of hatred but that we as people must keep trying to foster peaceful relations with each other. As for how peace was endured for so thousands years. It was Marley propaganda and constant use of titans that kept the hatred alive. In the end it’s Paradis who started it but also ended it. They not only killed Eren but they also take the credit of ending the Titan’s curse. The biggest reason peace didn’t work because of brainwashing, Marley’s propaganda and eldian being able to turn into Titan, along with that Zeke, Marley and hizuru blocked any chance at diplomacy. I am one of the believe that peace was always an option but people did it for their selfish goals so the chances were reduced. Which is not the case in the end. Eren did fuel the hate, but it also gives them more than 100 years of time to attempt peace talks. The world is traumatised after the rumbling, what remains is humanity is only content to have and now they wanted to rebuild. They have no stomach for war or more death and suffering. Armin and the Scouts are now the saviour of humanity and no longer threat to them because they can’t turn into titans, that was the meaning of secretary muller scene. The hate didn’t go away before because Marley kept it alive, the fact the bunch of eldians saved humanity from rumbling proves beyond any reasonable doubt they are not the devils that have been accused of being. Muller himself vowed to not make the same mistake again, and was also shown how both paradis and volunteers were starting to understand each another. Same thing with Gabi, Reiner magath etc. The pattern here is clear. Moreover if saviour of the world will negotiate with you it’s more than likely you will listen to their message of peace after all you owe them your life. The world mainly had problem with eldians because of the anti eldian propaganda, and now it’s over, nothing left now except resentment of the rumbling, but that alone will fade as time goes by and with alliance using all the goodwill they have managed to earn trying to push for peace and moving forward.

Bauklötze is one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard. It’s been 2 years but I still listen to it at least once a week. Hange’s last scene is truly a masterpiece, it’s one of a few anime scenes that I can’t watch without tears no matter how many times I rewatch it

Dasha

Guys, the kid that went into tree wont bring back titans like ymir because the titan only came because ymir wanted a strong and immortal body, and paths also came because ymir wanted connection and it connects all eldains, so the boy that went in there, woulnt be a titan because unlike ymir, he went there being happy and with curiosity so it could be something very good but not titans. source of living life is kind of wish enabler, and by doing that it multiply and survives. also about mikasa eren didnt erase her memories, he cant so he pulled her in paths in real time with the remnant of his power just like in s2 ep12 after he punched dina, he could stll use his powers. 2nd theory about mikasa is that maybe eren did bring her before, but it was ymir who supressed her memories and she being an ackerman able to regain it sooner than others, but i beleive the former one is right becasue she sees tha cabin life before eren dies, eren doesnt talk to levi like his friends, and we see shadow of falco in cabin scene so eren pulled her in real time.

It's a bit odd that Falco's regular jaw titan form is less humanoid in shape than his flying form. His flying titan form is more bird-like in the manga, at least from what I can remember. Maybe the manga panels just have inconsistencies/different angles that make it appear this way. Idk why, but it bothered me on my first watch.

Watching eren emoting on all those people he smushed was wild 😭🤣

Pablo Mogollon

Hange may not have made progress communicating with the outside world, but at least she goes out in style. Without her, the alliance likely would've been unable to stop Eren.

TheSauceGuy

Fire line from briggs at the end 🔥 "Its a tragic show that reflects our tragic reality"

david

Drink wine to enhance the feels. Trust me.

GreetswithJudgement

28:33 "If I lose it all, slip and fall..."

TheSauceGuy

I really really really love that the outcome of Eren's story is that it wasn't just him protecting his friends. That is absolutely no excuse for a 80% of the world genocide no matter what and it would be very Gary Stu writing. Obviously that plays such a huge role in his decision and I'm not here trying to stand on a high horse and pretend like he had plenty choice that's not my point. But it is because he was always obsessed with freedom. He was the one that killed those human traffickers that attacked Mikasa at age 6. He wanted to see the world but was disappointed when the world had other people in them. He always felt power flow through him when freedom was brought out. The author explores the extremity of obsession with freedom and how that has made Eren a slave to his own quest for this freedom. That's why he says he doesn't really know why he did this. Because for him it's on almost an animal instinct level. Obviously it seems like the future is set in stone but just as the Attack Titan gained the power to look into the future and was always obsessed with freedom because of Eren so one can somewhat argue that Eren was the one to set this story in stone because he could not possibly see how to give up on his obsession with freedom. One may say there was another choice. I think that's what really makes Eren such a great character and not only him wanting to protect him friends. That's what makes me fully buy into Eren's journey as a character

bondbond53

So unrelated but wanted to know are we getting a StudioGek sinners reaction? I need it from y’all 😭😭

Ana

😭

The intro scene will never not be my favorite moment/scene/intro of all time. “This is freedom” is my favorite manga panel and they absolutely did it justice here. Been waiting for it since we started this rewatch and now it’s here!

GreetswithJudgement

well I guess let me watch a little on my break. just wish I had my laptop

a_daichi

I hope y'all watch The Last Attack post-credit scene they showed in theaters!

TJ115

"mckay has no soul" got me crying lmfaooo

Matthew Valentine

One thing I'll say is that it's not a guarantee that when the little boy comes in contact with the source of life titans will be the result again. Ymir was running away, having a sad slave life but the boy is just curiously exploring with his dog friend so you could argue that the outcome would be a lot more positive. Like you said, a somewhat bittersweet open ending

bondbond53

Ahh I won’t be able to watch until sunday but I just know I’m going to cry 😭

a_daichi

I’m so glad you loved your first ever anime!! I completely understand how you feel as attack on titan was also my first anime. Hope to see you for more anime reactions 🥹

Zipzzty

Don't forget aot suite!

Goatchis

For me the first time I watched it I liked the ending and didnt really have mixed feelings about it. It was realistic and followed the shows narrative well. I feel like thats what make it so special in all honesty. It connects with people on a human level and lets everyone know that all the pain in this world (especially the uncontrollable) is heard loud and clear and acknowledged in such an artistic manner. For me what makes anime so special is the fact that a lot of the messages, themes, and symbolism apply to real world problems that everyone can relate to. Also blonde chick pullin a Mckay at the end was hilarious 😂😂😂

Jimmy

having to end aot AGAIN is another type of grief honestly... such a legendary series and journey !!

cc

I wonder if Eren becomes a freak in AoT Junior High, too.

Gabriel camacho

I can't believe we're at the end again 😭 ...felt like yesterday that you and the girlies started the AoT journey. How time flies by! I can't wait to watch this reaction after work 🥺🙏

Lalisa Truong

wow this whole day has just been bangers after bangers

becca

I'm commenting before I've watched the video, but Gek girls, what do you think of the ending now that it's all over? My biggest gripe is that Eren's development feels forced to me. In my view, the Rumbling is simply not a realistic conclusion given Eren's character and the progression of events we were shown. Like seriously, he was the one who caused his mom to be killed? The fact that he resorts to the Rumbling and that so many still portray the show as this "kill-or-be-killed" situation is ridiculous. I think 1-2 more seasons would've been needed to create a string of events that would make his arc feel more natural. He'd be a monster at the end, regardless, but I'd like it if it felt more believable. I mean, it wasn't even believable to the people who knew him most.

TheSauceGuy

Future Children react to AOT 3.0!!!

What an extraordinary journey this has been. Thank you all for allowing us to walk this path together. As I reflect on this rewatch, I’m struck once again by how deeply Attack on Titan captures the complexities of the human condition. Isayama hands us a knife and directs our gaze toward a silver lake—an invitation to confront our own reflections. In those waters, some of us glimpse angels, others see devils—each vision a projection of our hopes, our fears, our need to belong or to blame. We become so entangled in these images that we’re willing to bleed, and make others bleed, to preserve them. It seems to me that Isayama understands this intimately. Through AoT, he poses a haunting, enduring question: when at last you recognize the reflection for what it truly is—flawed, human, and unguarded—why do you still grip the knife?

Dan

AHHHHH OMG ITS HERE!!!!
