Hey Carter you said its not possible to crack your fingers just by clenching your fists but i can actually do it. I taught myself how to do it when I was 12, after watching a Bruce Lee movie where he did something similar before a fight (in one scene Luffy does the same). I can crack my fingers just by clenching my fists or by rotating my wrist while tensing my hand and I can repeat it over and over without waiting (ngl it starts to hurt though after doing it twice in row). Its not the typical joint cracking but i also stopped cracking my fingers in general cuz i dont think its healthy. If you re curious, I can even send you a video and explain how Ive learnt it, just let me know! (if yall read this gek people pls unban me on discord)

This is where I seriously would recommend you to switch to One Pace again. The fighting and running starts here, and with it comes a lot of filler that makes all the worst moments tediously long. That said, I think that Luffy getting stuck here was something Oda had to do because he wanted the Nami trio to reach the building first and didn’t come up with a better solution in time. Considering that he writes with only (IIRC) three weeks buffer, he has next to no time to go back and edit, and once it’s published that’s that (aside from some cleanup). Yeah, there are some sound effects that Toei goes way, WAY overboard with. Like the knuckle cracking (I also really hate the loud swallowing sounds, the stomach rumblings, and the inexplicable explosions the steps of really large characters make).
