Honestly the two bully rats with beomsek should have had it worse than the fighter guy - the guy basically lost his career and got brutally destroyed by si-hun even though he was just sparring with su-ho and was getting paid to do his job by beomsek. These last two episodes frustrated the heck out of me and just made me angry (also teared up when si-hun visited su-ho)

Overall, I enjoyed the first season a lot really good first watch with you guys, and I’m looking forward to season 2 since my GOAT character of the MANHWA is there.

The cycle of violence needed to end and Sieun’s goal has been to make it stop the entire run of the show. That’s the message. Violence perpetuates more violence until someone chooses to let go.

They deserve something happier such as Twinkling Watermelon, refreshing and light. Otherwise, they'll eventually get burnt out of all the depressive and dark themed kdramas. Like I want Death's Game but it's another heavy one. So many good kdramas are the ones that wreck you, emotionally. What gives? Lol 😭

To me, it felt so much more grounded… like.. the story, the relationships, the quiet tension.. everything just hit harder and felt so real compared to Season 2. But Season 2 is still good in its own way, and I’m super excited that you guys are watching it too 🤩. As for David… man, his life was truly heartbreaking. I don’t want to downplay the hell he went through.. no one deserves that kind of pain, and I do genuinely feel for him. But even with all that, I just can’t bring myself to forgive what he did. Suffering doesn’t give you the right to tear someone else’s life apart. His choices were his own, and they hurt people who didn’t deserve it. It’s such a complicated, painful character to watch. 🙂 And the acting??? Like OH. MY. GOD. Everyone killed it!!! Specially the main three.. so raw, so believable.. the chemistry, the tension, the little expressions .. everything was chef’s kiss. Also… this drama made me fall completely in love with Choi Hyun Wook (SuHo). 🫶 I totally went down the rabbit hole watching almost every drama he’s been in since. 😂 The guy’s talent is no joke.. he’s got such a bright future ahead.

2025-06-08 05:49:24 +0000 UTCPlease Weak Hero Class 2! You won’t be disappointed! I swear! Please, please watch it. Season 2 is more lighthearted so you won’t feel this stressed. As someone who read the webtoon, I think Class 1 is AMAZING. This is more of a prequel to the story in the webtoon, this is what makes Sieun, Sieun, his morals are Suho-shaped. In the webtoon however Suho dies, so I think having him in the hospital is way better, well it’s not exactly Suho as the character he was based on was not a fighter and was actually as smart as Sieun. Please watch s2 you guys won’t be disappointed! If you liked Weak Hero, I also recommend Bloodhounds, it also has GREAT fight choreographies. Park Jihoon at this point is a national treasure, he is a fantastic actor and a great singer too.

2025-06-08 04:56:01 +0000 UTCi know u guys have a massive fanbase with kdramas now and dont get me wrong this was an extremely enjoyable series for a first time watcher, great acting, good characters and dynamics and overall really solid show but i feel like there should be another live action going on especially since Breaking Bad is on hold, shows like Sopranos, the wire and succession are to many the peak of tv and even though they may not be ideal for reactions I think everyone should experience some of these shows.

Also the huge plus of having two of the best actors from Weak Hero 1 and 2 interact and with one of the best relationships I have seen on a kdrama.

It's about a former gangster that returns to uncover the truth behind his brother's death — embarking on a relentless path of revenge. Probably the best kdrama i have seen so far.

He looked so pale but I'm glad he was okay. When Si-eun is going on a rampage on Yeongbin's minions, it's so satisfying to watch after what they did to Suho. Justice was definitely served in my eyes. And then when Si-eun had Beomseok pinned down and asked him, "Why did you do it?" I lose it everytime with that scene. You can see the genuine sadness and hurt in his eyes wondering how it all came down to this in the end. It's evident he still cares enough about him to show some restraint even after his complete crashout with the others right before. Because, he doesn't want to actually hurt Beomseok. Si-eun still sees him as a friend even after everything he's done, all the damage. The emotion on their faces, the pain that they're both feeling in that moment, it makes you feel every bit of it. The acting is just too good!! I swear, I can't get over it even after several rewatches. It still has a such a hold on me... goodness. My rating for Weak Hero season 1 would be a 9.8/10. Sadly, those IMDB ratings are criminally low for such an outstanding and beautifully written drama.

WHC 1 is much2 better in writing, character and the raw figh. But it's not like WHC 2 is bad, in fact WHC 2 is supposed to be the main story, that's how the manhwa supposed to be. It's just the writer and director of WHC 1 made an excellent story and surpassed the original TO ME AT LEAST. At least season 2 is more reassuring and doesn't stress you out too much.

Season 2 was picked up by Netflix so some things changes, just for a example I really liked the colograding during the first season however in season 2, yes the quality of the shots are better but it just has the same colograding that netflix uses in all their shows. At first, the series seems like it's going to focus on Sieun seeking revenge against his bullies, filled with intense fight scenes. But as it's going, you realize it's actually about friendship and the deep traumas the characters carry. We've followed those 3 very different boys who each feel isolated in their own way and for the first time, they experience genuine friendship — and tragically, we also witness how quickly that bond can fall apart. It’s a beautifully written story surrounded by intense violence, especially toward the end. There aren’t that many action scenes overall, which makes Sien’s breakdown at the end all the more powerful and impactful. The director initially wasn’t sure if there would be a second season, so season 1 could have served as a complete story. But since it was such a success, they decided to continue making a conscious choice to make season 2 emotionally lighter and with more action to appeal to a broader audience.

He seems bright on the surface, but I wanted to express the loneliness inside him. When Si-eun brought doenjang jjigae back to the hospital room, Suho snaps, 'What’s with this guy... You’re too warm. Beomseok saying “you should understand me, Si-eun,”. because they’ve both experienced extreme and excessive violence and bullying their whole lives, Si-eun has felt the kind of pain and helplessness he’s felt and could sort of understand the reasons for Beomseoks changed behavior and his lashing out at Su-ho towards the end of their friendship. That’s why Si-eun was softer with beomseok during that time, while Suho went harder on him. Si-eun saying I do understand but in turn, saying “you should understand me”, because Beomseok has felt the kind of pain Si-eun is feeling now, when he thought su-ho had died, he should understand why Si-eun is reacting like this. All of these feelings in just a single moment with so few words said. Absolutely 10/10 writing and acting.

2025-06-05 21:35:45 +0000 UTCsieun walking through the school after fucking everyone up and letting beomseok go might be the hardest thing to watch in this show so far besides suho getting jumped. listening to that song in the background as sieun walks the halls completely out of it and so physically injured - it’s just so heartbreaking. i feel like i’ve typed that word so many times now, but it really is. like my guy is literally broken physically and mentally. and all he wants people to do is leave him alone now. breaking the glass and asking what they want and telling them to leave him alone it’s just so terrible. and then he just goes back to the hospital and sits down and imagines suho waking up and them both apologizing to each other and and it makes me feel like my heart is tearing out every time i watch so that’s great. the amount of guilt this poor boy has been feeling like it’s his fault is so sickening for me to watch because no one that’s truly at fault feels this way but he feels like it’s all his fault. fucking suho felt like this was all his fault too, which is even worse because look where he ended up even when taking responsibility that he didn’t need to take. and it’s really upsetting because this ends with him being back to square one of having no friends and closing himself off, but it’s even worse now because he knows what it was like to have friends and have someone care about and defend him. it’s actually not even square one he’s back at - it’s worse than that. imagine having a taste of what real friendship is and no longer being lonely after suffering from so much loneliness and neglect and now it’s back and worse than ever because the person who helped you the most is in a coma and the other friend you cared about is in the philippines after causing all of it. and now you’re being fucked with again at a school that clearly is all fighting and bullying. like leave him alone leave that kid ALONE.

2025-06-05 20:57:11 +0000 UTCi will say, even though him being in a coma is a little bit of a relief, knowing that he’s not dead at the same time is like ok what are even the chances of that he’ll wake up? is he brain dead or is it less serious than that? for sieun and his grandma and everyone else that cares about suho it must be hell because yeah, he’s not dead but in a way it’s more painful to have hope that he may one day wake up than it is to just accept the fact that he died. i still can’t get over him going into that hospital room and we just hear grandmother asking if he’s suho’s friend and that he must be sieun like she knew about him - that’s how close him and suho were to the point suho would mention him to his grandma and she knows without having to ask which friend he is 😭😭 and it gets even worse because we finally see sieun crying. he’s always looked like he was about to cry and has teary eyes all the time this season but listening to him cry for the first time seriously is so heartbreaking. suho was his first real friend and the first person that made him smile and now he’s the first person that has made him cry like this. it’s so terrible. it literally makes me feel sick like it’s not even funny. and it’s so satisfying to watch sieun go on this revenge rampage but it’s just so heartbreaking at the same time because he’s so broken right now. as he starts his revenge tour, you can just see as he’s getting revenge on each person how much more broken he gets as we go along in it and that’s not just physical injury wise but him himself internally. (side note watching him fuck up wooyoung was so satisfying for me idgaf. yes make it so he can no longer do fighting professionally - if he wants to choose to “win” that way and land that first kick to his head than sieun will be glad to make it so you can no longer fight 😁 yes i know it’s unfair to wooyoung but i can’t be bothered to care when suho is currently in a hospital bed possibly never waking up). by the time he reaches beomseok he’s so tired and i know some people just wanted him to fuck him up, but even at the end of the day sieun doesn’t go through with it. yea he fucked up everyone else and it’s like why did you fuck up everyone but not the person that probably did did that one last kick that fully put him into the coma and who caused all this in general but at the same time i think it says a lot about sieun that he didn’t do it. he knows that’s what beomseok was waiting for and that’s what he wanted him to do and he just didn’t.

Knowing that, Sieun's character in the webtoon is created by his memories of Suho. The director once mentioned that Suho is Sieun's first love, which means that Suho is his anchor to regulating his emotions. Sieun is a lunatic without Suho. I don't think it meant romantic love, it's more like it's the first time he actually cared for someone. This should no longer be a spoiler since the guys are already watching S2 by the time they posted this.

Tell me yes if it's all just gonna be depression, tragedy and violence in season 2. Cause Idk, this show is taking a toll on me. Glad Su-ho is alive though, but feels like he's not gonna wake up for a long time.

2025-06-05 20:28:26 +0000 UTCI’m so glad you guys loved this season! This was the ending we all had to sit with for like three years while waiting for Season 2 lol. I won’t say much, but the next season is definitely entertaining. I think Class 1 is the better season objectively speaking, but I have a friend who actually liked Class 2 more, so it really depends on your taste. The vibe does feel a bit different (probably because Netflix took over), and it leans a little more into clichés, but I’ll let you guys be the judge. Just think of Season 1 as more of a backstory because Season 2 is where the webtoon really starts. Can’t wait to see your reactions!

It gave me chills to watch him actually sob and look so unwell you guys really became my favorite reactors for this show, I love how invested you were in EVERY single ep and in the characters, I’m so excited for season 2! I do have to say, as a production, S2 is not as immaculate as S1, it’s still very good/enjoyable tho, so I can’t wait to see what you guys think about it!!! thanks for the early drop🕺

Love Mckay's faith in the assemblyman needing to get his reckoning too 😫💥 and people are always confused about how Su-ho's still alive after the claim of him not breathing (which fair, lol), but I think what's most likely is that he was just taking very slow/shallow breaths at the time, because the bully just held his hand to his face for a moment and no one even tried checking for a pulse or anything...which is lk insane - I remember watching that part where no one even does anything after like 'helloooo?!?'

The way he punched his arm into that glass window, how he's visibly shaking, the veins popping out of his neck and how he finally allows himself to release all the pent up emotions/pain that's been buried away inside of him, he's gone through so much. The visceral scream/cry and the tears streaming down his face at the end where he looks completely defeated and broken inside takes your breath and manages to hold it there for a while and not give it back. It's crazy how he even passed out after doing that scene. It probably drains so much of your energy. I can only imagine... I love Si-eun's character so much. He'll always be my favorite character. Thank you guys for watching this masterpiece. I'm so happy you loved it. This show will never not blow me away with the acting, cinematography, music, choregraphy, directing, story, characters, and the overall message. I've never watched something that made me feel such complex emotions such as Weak Hero. Can't wait to see what you all think of season 2. I'm really looking forward to it!!! It's going to be a blast.

2025-06-05 20:18:59 +0000 UTCand we’re onto s2. i think you guys will love it. i think s1 is probably still my favorite season but s2 was worth the watch and wait for me personally. the other comments are saying it but s1 was technically a prologue/flashback to the main story (aka the main webtoon story) in s2 but i would never call beomseok or especially suho just a flashback character like a lot of webtoon stans like to do. it’s just so impressing how they expanded on a short prologue/flashback that was in the webtoon into a season long story. it fleshed out the characters and made them even more important to the story than they already are. beomseok’s character is a lot worse in the webtoon so i’m always glad they fleshed him out more and didn’t make him immediately terrible. suho -while still important to sieun and the narrative in the webtoon (and i’m only saying this because they already started season two so it’s not a spoiler to say he’s haunting the narrative they already know) - was less of an character than he is in the drama. a lot of webtoon readers for some reason like to call him a character of the past that doesn’t matter but that is not the case at all. again not a spoiler guys because they watched ep 1 already so they know. you guys were talking last episode about what they’re trying to say doing this to suho and what the narrative is and since you know it’s sieun’s backstory now for what happens when he transfers it’s still truly heartbreaking to think about. this is is essentially the story of how sieun started to open up and gain friends and one backstabbed them both while his best friend ended up in a coma trying to avenge him and now he’s alone again in a new school where he’s about to be fucked with - AGAIN! and that’s what really breaks my heart man. sieun was just trying to do his best to make sure that suho didn’t get involved and didn’t get hurt and it just backfired on him terribly.

It’s like Sieun handed David a mirror instead of a fist, forcing him to confront himself in the worst possible way. It’s honestly the cruelest thing Sieun could’ve done, whether he meant to or not. And because of his restraint, the window-breaking scene hits even harder 💥

2025-06-05 20:14:54 +0000 UTCi feel like i poured my thoughts on this show under other episodes but holy moly, it gets better with every watch (sadder too), you see more small details while rewatching. for me, i feel like Sieun did what he only could in this emotional state. as we see from the beginning, he used to repress and hide his emotions just because he is used to it. he is a practical guy, he did not see value in interacting with others, anything aside from studying from which he gets “validation” from his parents. that is just how he grew up and how he copes. but Suho showed him that he can be appreciated the way he is and even more. Sieun can be his usual cold self but Suho was not scared away by it, he actively wanted to be friends with him. and eventually Sieun let himself go, let himself enjoy and cherish the friendship with Suho (and Beomseok at the start). even throughout Suho and Beomseok’s fallout, Sieun still kept being rational and reserved. but when he saw what happened with Suho, he snapped. and it could not be in any other way as it happened in ep8 imo, because imagine keeping it all to yourself, at bay and when something yours, your first connection and friendship is ruined…it’s years and years of repressed emotions, grief, despair and rage. Park Jihoon made an immaculate job of showing this imo. you just hurt with him, you feel vengeance with each punch and you don’t think about consequences because you now have nothing to lose…

This episode really solidified Sieun as my goat & favorite character of the show. Like I already liked him while watching because his character was so interesting but then seeing him fully crash out when he didn’t have suho, his best friend & rock, there to stop him was just amazing(i always like the morally grey/insane characters that only fight when they have to or someone bothers them lol). Like I know you guys kept saying “you have to know when to stop” but I was literally screaming at my laptop during this episode “GET HIM AGAIN FOR ME!! BREAK HIS ARM” LOL. Like those bullies can go to hell and the law would’ve done nothing to them with the assemblyman’s protection so i’m glad Sieun went full dark knight on them!! Also the scene where he punches the glass windows is one of my all time favorite scenes in cinema history. Like this kid for an entire season was trying to hold himself back, he kept asking these bullies to leave him & his friends alone like literally every other scene with Sieun was him saying “stop” or “i told you to stop” and they just kept bothering him. So to see him let out such a desperate scream like that was so sad. But this was a great rewatch for me, i’m glad you enjoyed it so much and sorry it gave you a headache in the end 😭 Super excited to rewatch S2 with you guys!!

His acting was top-tier, the scene where he crashed out on the window and screamed? thats dedication. Behind the scenes you can see how he kept crying and needed a while to calm down even after the cameras cut. Loved the series so much.

I would love for you guys to watch Twinkling Watermelon as well but you might end up .............liking him more. hahaha Edit: No this is not Sieun first job, he was a child actor and an idol. This is Suho's first main stream job, he had some small supporting roles before this and he even played a BULLY in one and he was so believable too. David's actor is also not a new comer.

Masculinity without emotional safety = violence, silence, or martyrdom. 2. The boys aren’t weak. The system is. 3. Give boys space to feel, to fail, to not always have to be “strong” or you’ll keep creating Beom-seoks, hardening Si-euns, and breaking Su-hos.

In the manga we don’t get introduced to Su-ho, or David until chapters in and it was only to understand the main character’s personality it just a flashback. The end of season 1 in the new school is where the manga starts.

For me, this info made me feel better about moving past season 1 to what will happen in season 2.

Even in recent interviews, the actors and the director have confirmed it. They just toned down the romantic aspect between them to appeal to a broader audience, but the actors did such a great job portraying the emotions that, even if it’s framed as a bromance, we can still feel how much Su-ho means to Si-eun. Anyway, I love this show — can’t wait for season 2! 💖
