Now S2 Happened, and it has also became my favorite kdrama of 2025. Yall are in for a masterpiece of a show!! I’ll only say these 2 things without spoiling anything. 1.) Even though Sieun is my favorite character, Suho will forever be the GOAT. & 2.) When you’re watching this show, just remember that Sieun is a lunatic. I won’t explain further but that boy is CRAZY and i love every second of his shenanigans!! He’s my favorite character for a reason Excited to rewatch for the millionth time with yall!!

Cant imagine spending so much time to study and then was targeted by the bullies for literally NO reason at all. To be fair, a part of reason why Su-ho stopped Si-eun was also cuz he knows deep inside hes a good guy and he doesnt want a good guy like that to make the situation worse. Im actually glad yall picked Weak Hero up LMAO. I watched it at some point but got lazy and never continued, now I have a new motivation to resume. I did hear they changed a lot of the events and character dynamics in s2 compared to the webtoon though. Cant say Im a fan of that....especially when my fav character was done dirty. Smh

In Korea (and several places in Asia) rather than the students moving from class to class its the teachers that move around, and a lot of the scenes tend to take place during breaks where the teachers are fully outta the classrooms - but if its in a more of a 'where are these teachers mentally to be missing so much of their class dynamics' well that's another thing...lol

He’s been hospitalized for two years. When your sole purpose is academics and you work hard to give your all, but then something inhibits your goal. It’s the most heart breaking/mentally devastating thing to happen. His parents are very supportive of him but Korea has hella comparison issues and cultural sense of shame. The MC being a perfectionist and crashing out felt so real to me.

They can only take it once a year so if you score badly, you have to wait 12 months to retake it. Lots of people take a gap year after graduating high school to retake their CSAT. Obviously not everyone's the same, but for high schoolers that view this as a make or break exam, in combination with the pressure of their parents, peers etc, it's pretty stressful. For example, if you want to be a doctor, there's no pre-med program and your entrance to a good medical school is determined by things like the CSAT. A friend of mine went to after school academies until 11pm and went home to study until like 2AM for months leading up to her exam and she said it was one of the worst periods of her life. On the day of the exam, planes have a no depart/land period during the English listening part of the exam, construction is paused, schools are closed, public offices open later so there's less traffic/people on the streets, police escort late students. It's kinda wild but I heard the influence of the CSAT has been fluctuating so i don't really know how much pull the exam has now, but I'm sure it's still super important

But that test Si-eun took was just a mock test (practice exam) of the college entrance exam so it doesn’t really count. Si-eun is just tweaking lol. In 2023, a survey by the Ministry of Education showed that more than 1 out of 30 students experienced bullying during the year. The main causes are academic pressure and the rigid social hierarchy. Bullying in general is also one of the main causes of suicide in Korea. There actually aren’t that many Korean shows that talk about it — very few, in fact — but you happened to come across some of the ones that do. So yeah, that’s a quick answer — I simplified it a bit, but there’s a lot to say about school bullying in Korea unfortunately… and honestly, about bullying in general too :(
