109:52 yes cook carter cook! 🥘 That final moment from him is so bittersweet and realistic he’s trembling finally caught the very thing that’s driven him to this point and one simple question from cassian is the final piece of the puzzle where you can tell his worldview starts to unravel and he realizes what the side he’s been so eager to fight for is all about. The brief moment where he starts to lower his gun, maybe about to reply, maybe he’s changed and he’ll ask cassian how to join the resistance, who knows it’s perfect show not tell. This show is so peak

narratively this season so far built up to bix needing to leave cassian. she’s always been the anchor point for him and we see that he would abandon/go rogue whenever she was involved. in the first arc, he cuts comms the second kalya tells him there’s a communication blockade and guns it there recklessly. in the second arc when bix is absolutely haunted, he’s practically unhinged and ragged going on missions but also fiercely protective of her at all times. when vel visits to have that conversation with bix, that was the not-so-subtle drop that the sacrifice bix needed to make was to let andor go. the force healer only reinforced that point. she was his last thing to lose and by taking herself out of the equation, it makes cassian’s sole focus the cause. because they have to win if they’re giving up everything. it has to be worth it.

Thank you! Coming from someone who hasn't watched all the recent Star Wars series. I'm lost, but it's nice seeing you all invested like that.

The only scene I find that brought almost nothing to the plot is Cassian getting trapped in Yavin in the beginning. I guess they needed to trap Cassian in some way but the whole rebels holding Cassian hostage situation could be done much better. My head canon is that the show was portraying on how unorganized the rebels were in Yavin and showed that they were not ready to fight the empire.

I keep trying to find this season interesting but I fell asleep so many times. For me the story has to have interesting friction, either between characters or within the plot. Both the dialogue and the plot of this season is all over the place. There are so many scenes that bring almost nothing to the plot or barely anything to the character's development, and those just drag on gratuitously. So many scenes could be completely deleted and the story would still be the same. The whole planet's survival is at stake but they couldn't make me care about a SINGLE person from that planet. That is such a letdown. How did they utterly fail to evoke a feeling of crisis of this magnitude is beyond me.
I have LOVED the first season. I still think Cassian's actor was always a poor casting choice. The guy has no presence at all for me. He and Bix have ZERO chemistry, I don't buy that plotline at all. So her leaving him to make him continue fighting just doesn't hit all the buttons properly for me since the two of them seem like wet noodles with zero sauce together. After that scene, I'm like, yeah girl just go, find some guy with actual aura, because during the Ghorman massacre this guy didn't take a single shot at Dedra that he COULD have taken. He also did ABSOLUTELY nothing, or rather he got his ass handed to him by Dedra's cuck boy, and then had his life saved right after by the guy that killed the cuck boy that was about to shoot him. That whole sequence made Cassian look absolutely pathetic honestly.

The only live action reactions I have watched are Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, Chernobyl, and The Last of Us season one. I don't watch their reactions until I have first seen it with the people I watch with. If I haven't seen a show myself then I typically don't watch their reactions of it. I haven't yet started Andor season two so I will be holding out on their reactions for it.

The disparity in the amount of comments/engagement for your live-action watches vs anime is crazy. I wonder how many of the GoT/HotD viewers are still here, because those videos had TONS of comments.

Man, out of everyone there, Syril was the one I was hoping wouldn't die... He was the most interesting character to me, and I was hoping this massacre would create a rebellion arc for him. I'm interested in seeing how Dedra's arc goes now, considering I thought she was dead.

Cannon, it's also scary to be a news reporter/journalist in our world, at least depending on what you're covering. In the Israel-Gaza war, at least 176 journalists have been killed, many of whom were directly targeted. To give you a comparison, that's over double the amount killed in WWII. It's one thing to have the surrounding environment pose a potential threat, and it's another to be intentionally targeted as a member of the press.

"The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together." -Obi-Wan Kenobi
Bix & Cassian felt the force guiding them. They have a destiny if they choose to follow it. Bix embraces it & knows that Cassian has a higher calling. Cassian: "I make my own decisions." He's afraid to accept that his choices are not his own. He will continue to reject it & that's the Cassian we get in Andor.
"What do you sacrifice?" Bix is sacrificing love. She's not necessarily choosing the rebellion over him. If Cassian walks away, everything they've done will all be for nothing. Everyone they've lost would have died in vain. Bix was very selfless & I'm glad she's alive out there. It would be a bonus if she was pregnant.

Andor legit has the best speeches! They did Mon Mothma’s speech more than justice. They recreated it but also respected the original.
Mon Mothma needed to leave the Senate to establish the Rebel Alliance. We've seen how incompetent & inexperienced the rebel cells are without a leader.
I love the contrast of her coming out into the light, while Luthen continues to work in the dark. Both have the same endgame, but will travel different paths that are morally complex.

Star Wars was released & outlined in a way where we know the fate of characters & future events. Just like how The Battle of Scarif is inevitable, so was The Ghorman Massacre.
Despite their fates being predetermined, they did a great job building that suspense & tension. Definitely one of the best Disney Star Wars project. Such brilliant storytelling that is so visceral & heartbreaking. You almost have an unrealistic hope for an alternative ending.
It's very similar to watching Palpatine strategically manipulate/exploit everyone & everything during the Clone Wars. I'm still not over Fives.

Love that this show is making it EXPLICITLY clear just how evil the Empire is. We’ve always known that, but this is bordering on the Capitol from The Hunger Games level of portrayal of a tyrannical, authoritarian governing body. They’re pulling no punches with this series.
The imperial sniper who was instructed to shoot a fellow imperial soldier just to justify a massacre is a perfect example of this.

Governments killing/making plans to kill their own citizens is not a very uncommon occurrence. I mean, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, President Kennedy rejected a proposal known as Operation Northwoods. This was a false flag operation that tasked the CIA with committing acts of terrorism against US civilian (and military) targets, which would then be blamed on Cuba to justify a declaration of war.

Jack’s disbelief that the Empire would shoot unarmed civilians is exactly why this show is so important. Not only would the Empire do that and spin it in their favor, but this kind of thing has happened in real life. Someone on twitter pointed out that the Ghorman massacre seems based on the Tlatelolco massacre of 1968, where Mexican Armed Forces killed up to 500 unarmed protestors in a plaza. Same setup with the snipers & everything

Idk if you guys picked up on it but in the scene with Vel on Yavin that is Melshi (Cassian’s fellow escapee) and vel recognizes the gun he gave him.
Also I’m pretty sure Bail Organa refused to leave because he wanted Luke to be grown up before they challenged the empire.

In the scene towards the end at the rebel base intake vel picks up the blaster because I believe it was Cassians in the first series from ep3-10 and the guy responding was the only other known escapee from the narkina 5 prison him and cassian then go to naimos and cassian give him the gun when they go separate ways. he is also notable for being part of the battle on scarif with cassian in rogue one
