Don't the Earthers all forget their loved ones and maybe other important stuff over time? On the other hand, that hasn't really been developed much more than to inform us that it happens. The reaction of the second mind to this memory loss, and the fact that Geneva can't even remember her father when he's mentioned makes this seem more sinister. Luan could remember his family when he was reminded by his tattoo. And...Geneva's memory of her father seems to have been replaced rather than lost...

2022-10-30 21:43:15 +0000 UTCI'm the same way with side stories and not just with the wandering inn. Though I liked this one more, it felt more directly connected to the main story. I think that's why the side story related chapters usually bother me a little, I like the characters, but there are times when I feel it would be more fun to hear about them from brief bits and pieces on the tv, rumors and stories that may or may not contradict. That's why Gravesong really worked for me.

2022-10-30 14:09:57 +0000 UTCI like Geneva but with where Erin's story is at, I was exceptionally averse to side stories getting in the way. Until I read it. This chapter was much more concise. In it, nothing went to waste. I highly approve. It made me forget that we weren't revelling in the next steps around TWI. p.s. While I can understand the desire to go back and rewrite the beginning of an already established story, that way lies madness. It's exceptionally difficult to mesh the two levels of writing skill without messing up the story as a whole. I've tried and then stopped because it was doing my head in.

After all of her accomplishments I think only 2nd and 6th mind would find what is being done to her as wrong. I think Niers is going to need to wipe this group out after rescuing her, and seeing if he can get her back to normal.

2022-10-30 08:03:00 +0000 UTCI think what is worst about the hive mind is memories are ever-changing and influenced but your mind knows something wrong... the editing being done to a person the gentle "corrections" to align with the goal n idea of their right or if possible backdoors put into a person to be a sleeper agent. brain stuff is terrifying possible I have no mouth but I must scream the return of the puppet what are poor girl gone through already once...
