Dreams surpassed

Thurston Chandler

When I finished the chapter I got this demented image in my head of Ryoka hauling butt on the magic bicycle with Saliss sitting on the handlebars chucking potions like a madman. I can dream it reaches that level of mayhem.

Philip Pleiss

I'm hoping tonight's chapter picks up here so we don't get a cliffhanger....I agree with the earlier comment....it would be great to see the reward go to the goblins....I was expecting saliss to deliver it himself or act as a distraction.

matt emmons

the beaver comic was great! hahahaha

But goblins can’t move at courier speeds. He’s only got a couple days left in this chapter.

Donald Smith

Kjell your probably right but don't discount 4 public opinion is becoming more and more important in the world. From now on when they contact anyone new the circle are going to face the fact that most of the public only know them as the group that is poisoning kids. Every person they try to sell the "we are for the greater good line" they seem to have ladies Rie and Ieka believing is going to question alot more now.

I think the easiest and safest thing to do would be to send 100 different vials of cure with a bunch of goblins and place them around a mile away, and then send a message to let them know there are dozens of copies of cure in orange or red boxes all around Tyrion's home. Tyrion could ride out and find one of the cures and cure his sons, while the goblins could get it there since the assassins' aren't watching for goblins to deliver the cure.

I think it has more to do with their relationship and just the fact that Erin draws a line at life or death. In most cases what Erin does to help doesn't really put her or her friends in more danger than their already in, while sending Ryoka is a life or death situation and PUTS Ryoka in harms way. Not to mention she probably has some hesitancy towards helping the person that went to war on Liscor, making her less likely to help (thought she would probably help if she didn't have to put people at risk.) NTM i think Erin has just matured as a character and realizes she can't just work hard and get a happy ending, she's watched friends die for her. If she was old Erin from book 2 or 3 maybe, but this Erin understands the world is a nasty place and bad things happen and sometimes you can't do anything about it. If Ryoka goes, she would probably die and the cure would still not get there.

Ruyxi Sylpheyes

Well they are 'secret' group of sociopathic megalomaniacs -- so they probably thought they had him over a barrel. Their time to shine & replace the Five Families as it were. They probably didn't think the Drakes would do anything -- cost/benefit analysis plus his history of wanting to invade -- plus they probably consider them 'lesser' or some rot.

Beth Rasmussen

Really looking forward to the next chapter! I understand why you stopped there (agonizing as it was) as I'm assuming the next bit will be long & probably have a lot of parts to fit together. :)

If I read the chapter right Leka was mainly following orders more so than believed persua would succeed, even if she allso didn’t _like_ the poison plan. That said, as someone typed in the wordpress discussions Saliss taking all the guilds attention with his stunts in Invrisil probably significantly raised Persuas odds of making it.

Erin would totally try to set up the delivery, but she'd do it with a plan where she doesn't get anyone killed. She'd have gotten Saliss to do it or have it teleported in or disguised as magic food or something. Ryoka's always been a suicidal risk seeker. Honestly, this isn't even that dangerous compared to Chandler or the Archmage. If Ieka figured Persua had even the slightest chance this will be a cakewalk compared to those runs. Mihaela probably wouldn't have even tried to make a delivery to Chandler even if it was for a good cause.

Stormlock

I find it very strange that Erin would be the one trying to make sure Ryoka doesn't try to make the delivery. Every time Ryoka is around, Erin loses all her personality/character to help make Ryoka the real main character. I know Ryoka wants to get Tyrion for the summer solstice, but it would still be more in character if Erin was trying to set up the antidote delivery and Ryoka was trying to stop her because it's too dangerous.

1 and 8 are probably your best points, and I’d counter them with that they (circle and assasssins) were probably really mad at Tyrion, possibly clouding their judgement, and that they thought they knew him and expected him to fold. Look at the power tripping assassin demanding Tyrion as her personal giggolo. Most likely they overestimated their power after actually beating Ressa and Magnolia, stealing or destroying her carriage and struck fast and hard against the target at hand. It’s a valid reason or them to overplay their hand imho

Now we know why he had Octavia brewing the potion of invisibility though.

Amaranthy

I feel like the circle of thorns made a lot of enemies and taken alot of risk here for zero profit. 1.They pissed off all five families and any nonmember nobles by being a threat to their children 2. as well as anyone that liked/owed the type of healer/alchemist that would risk their lives to save children. 3. and everyone that now has to find new runners they can trust to be discreet. 4. public opinion is against them now 5. the next generation of couriers is going to remember who threatened them when they where runners 6. if they succeed at this point they get someone who hates working for them magic contract or not malicious compliance, planed incompetence, and low moral aren't good things in commanders 7. if they fail for any reason (Salis or Pursua) they have made an enemy of the guy that has been known to go on long well planed quests of vengeance. 8. the last still incomplete vengeance quest was against their enemies was probably higher on the list before they actively became a threat to him. 9. also if they fail people know they can be defeated how ever costly it winds up being, which goes back to points one and two they made enemies that are going to be willing to pay the price

Finally, the goblin bromance gang getting back together, i’ve been waiting for ages for Badarrow to get to see Numbtongue, hopefully will meet Rabbiteater again in the future as the goblin characters are my fav. Also hope Tyrion gets the cure in time as i’m a sucker for a happy ending, though if he doesn’t and signs up to the Circle I can see the story taking a darker arc, I am currently jealous of everyone who is just discovering this serial as I wait to read the next chapter, keep up the great work!

Stevie

If PirateAba does not pull a change of POV, I predict quite a few people are going to die next chapter. There's plenty of Assassins in Invrisil who will try to destroy/intercept/etc the cure that Saliss brought in. Extra drama if the cure is delivered just as Tyrion has finished signing the amended contract

Luca

if anyone dies next chapter I'm going to scream

Rikk Silirion

Erin or Numbtongue showing Badarrow the Statues is literally the reason I was so excited for this reunion… and it happens off screen. FFS

taukid

Great chapters!

KDP

Crunch time for Ryoka gang! I wonder how Trey is doing in Wistram, especially seeing as he and Teres presumeably both must have been noticed when Wistram were spying on Flos through the Scrying orbs as they were watching Magic vision. I guess with some luck no one adds up the pieces of that puzzle before he can grab Amerys and run.

Thank you

Raian

Well now what do I do? I’ve finished it! I’m like a bloody addict! Thank you, loved it as always. It’s impossible to explain this serial to people, they go cross eyed and look at you funny and back off slowly saying calming things...

Martin Page

Do you think this guy knows she is from earth. I mean why would he send message to niers

Caanbo

Wow. I love how fast things are developing. It seemed for a while that the plot threads at the inn were stalling - a lot was going on elsewhere, but in terms of the important hanging threads of the inn-centric storylines, it was pretty incremental. Now, everything is happening at once, and I love it. Ryoka and the people she's met along the way have been getting introduced to the craziness of the inn and Erin, Erin finally going to visit the Players of Celum and becoming 'known' to parties in Invrisil, the Goblins finally returning to the fold (that was huge! I'd been looking forward to that for so long), the party coming up and the flurry to get things ready (hopefully catered by the Wandering Inn, lol), the Unseen Empire and the Inn meeting each other... so many things converging and I can't wait. Maybe it'll even be enough for Erin to level up hahaha

Adrian Gorgey

Ohhh I hope that Terandrian bloke is a good guy. Good guys don't try to piss off the Titan. There are likely a few things in this world that could make Niers Astoragon incandescently angry. And fucking with Erin would be one of them.

I guess it's good that Xif is a Gnoll because he just screwed the pooch.

Imran

Memento Mori, RIP to Unus Annus
