I've done it! The chapter, I mean. It's longer, but I did it! All by myself! I uh, don't know if that's surprising by this point. (26,600 Words)

i started reading this series about a year ago and let me tell you I neglected everything in my house for at least two months it was work read work read

Jennifer Toledo

Also weird that Teriarch said he did too much but going to probably the most influential place in the world.... Thought we'd get to see him hang out and Erin's and just 'talk' for awhile... Not 'influencing things' just humoring people.

Kevin Choi

Good luck, it’s addictive reading, you’ll find yourself reading a chapter a day, then 2, next thing you know you need 10 chapters to satisfy the itch!

David Hutcheson

I'm just in the middle of book 3 and vampires have not been invented yet. Just checking if I can maintain my carefully adjusted reading speed so I don't run out of story too soon... 26.000 words... OK, no need to economize here - nice 🤩 (I LOVE the story... )

I'll reread the chapter but I think the silver dust was one of many rituals. And probably the original vampires were cursed or introduced to the silver originally. I like the reveal though i never thought of it as a vampire control. I agree the vampires shouldn't die.

matt emmons

a lot of this problem solving curtis is assuming that you know the problem, and won't be solved naturally if they don't get where the source, now that they know they can do such things

Ram nevet

So we had that nice moment with tyrion and hethon with the jousting a few chapters back. Anyone else feeling apprehensive about tyrion finally connecting with his son right before this happens? Because I doubt the circle will kill both, they need house veltras intact. If hethon dies tyrion is going to spend his time purging the north while magnolia is in oteslia and can't do anything about it

Curtis Miller

Yeah, contaminated water is one thing and obviously it would have spread to groundwater and etc to some extent. But I don't get how silver polluted water would have spread the silver to plants and animals all across northern izril. It really shouldn't be that hard to find animals that have never drunk from a well before. You know, like basically any animal living remotely from civilization? Go to the mountains or deep forests where the water is from lakes and rivers and this problem seems mostly solved.

Curtis Miller

It does seem rather odd. You'd think if anyone would have their own isolated commune detached from the rest of civilization it'd be some vampires. Then again, maybe they are out there and every time they've made contact with the poisoned ones they've died like Fierre would have.

Stormlock

Ylawes Byres might be killed soon. The amount of time they are spending on him. And I think the cure for the vampires Is in Horsetail which has silica that removes silver and other think from the body. I thing they should not die out.

Caanbo

I'm guessing all the vampire hunting famililes had this ritual, and they never stopped. Just a little in each well or helping build wells, dams and other such material eventually contaminated the area by some silver. Not enough to kill them, but poison them over years and generations.

Jak

Thinking over the chapter over a day... The Vampires prob seems utterly absurd.... No vampire over hundreds of years moved away from human held Izril? Every single well was poisoned? No new wells have been dug? Every patch of death world crazily wild empty land was poisoned? Sorry Pirate, i dont think this one works.

Kevin Choi

I’ve often wondered, “If vampires are a problem, why not get a priest to bless the ocean?” It’s nice to see smart vampire hunters for once. As well as the aftermath.

David Spinnato

Ryoka doesn't have "pure blood", meaning she's not a noble or a royal. Vampires were probably nightmares for the aristocracy in their heyday.

ActionKermit

I do think that erin's food does have the potential to do something as weird and specific as drawing out all the contaminants from someone's body though. Especially since she could work the vampire theme

Russell Todd

I have to say that I don't think Liscor is far enough. Both Byres' children have stayed there for awhile already, and as Liscor gets more integrated with the north, it's inevitable that their wells will also be contaminated

Adrian Gorgey

The problem is that he’s the leader for the war against the drakes. A few volumes ago he was on the verge of taking down Liscor.

Durzo

I'm thinking If the vampires moved to........Liscor...they might be safer...and i agree Erins wondrous fare combined with saliss of lights might be able to cure some little sons....not that i like him much...i dislike sick children better......not sure his story overlaps their story....im more worried he will call on bellavier.

matt emmons

Nice

Caanbo

“... Ryoka doesn’t have it.” The system? She sounded a little off. Hopefully she won’t have a character change where she’d have to be put down 😭

Durzo

Ugh such a tease.... All I wanted was a resolution with the Veltras..... Vampires was cool, but back in my head I only wanted one thing

Kevin Choi

I certainly am amazed.

Smaug

Thank you!

Andrew

Thanks for the chapter! I know this might break the plot, but can Erin make a cure to poisons using wondrous fare? What even is the limits to that skill.

Tom Prouty

Impressive

Much love
