Toji used multiple blades last season. Maki’s new sword is a replica of one of Toji’s blades but not the inverted spear of heaven that Gojo destroyed. That one is more of a dagger, not an actual sword.

2026-01-23 14:02:41 +0000 UTCSorry, kind of a Maki hater here. I never really found her writing really interesting, especially in terms of personality. I mean even with the power boost I don't feel the aura, it just doesn't click, maybe that's just me but nah. Killing all the random members that didn't have any connection with her, and finally killing her mom in the end is just the final rotten cherry on top of the pie for me. Also a pity that Jinichi and Ranta only had a few seconds of screen time, they had such interesting techniques and character design... would like to have seen more of it.

2026-01-23 13:58:26 +0000 UTCOne thing I noticed upon rewatch is the kid who locks maki down with his eye jutsu. At the end when he's crouching and bleeding out and says "you did it, jinichi" it's because he's gone blind and I guess he was still detecting jinichi so he assumed.

2026-01-23 13:45:24 +0000 UTChonestly I liked this way better in the manga 🥲 there are many themes here that don’t have time to breathe due to everything moving so quickly: Maki and Mai's relationship Naoya's abuse of Maki and Mai Maki/Toji parallels how Naoya made the mistake of underestimating Toji and then made the same mistake AGAIN with Maki etc the animation was hype ofc, but especially while rewatching Naruto with you guys; I can't help but notice how everything in anime moves so much more quickly now... for better or for worse. I think it was for the worse this time.

2026-01-23 13:26:46 +0000 UTCYeah Mai's ability is the power of creating permanent objects, but they couldn't be too big or complex as they took a huge toll on her and her limited cursed energy. I'm assuming that her cursed energy and technique were also halved like Maki's heavenly restriction because their gifts were split between the two due to them being twins. If Maki had been the one to die it would be likely that Mai would have gained a a lot more cursed energy and a fully complete cursed technique the way Maki got a full Heavenly Restriction.
