I would say my favorite opening is Opening 12 Tagatame. Its not normally my kind of music but i love the visuals aswell, this one is so fire in my opinion. I think my favorite from ange is the first one its just to nostalgic and slaps so hard. But hard to say .

2025-12-26 22:23:25 +0000 UTCI actually really enjoy Starmaker, Bokurano, and Tagatame *because* they're so different from what you might consider 'standard' MHA openings. I've got no argument with any of the ones you put in S though. Sora Ni Utaeba is crazy underrated!

You really have to slow it down to see all the little details. Sir Nighteye's glasses falling toward Mirio. Also the ugly sweater Aizawa got for Eri but the nurses had thrown away out of disgust.

Watching a version without Bakugo and then seeing him in the next one hits sooooo good! Though you didn't rank it as high, one of my favorite MHA openings is actually Tagatame (the 12th opening by TK). I thought the visuals were amazing and emotional, and the general bleakness and progression of the song captured the mood of the season. (Also, if you go back to look at Bakugo's scene right before the chorus hits, it shows him getting blown up as a transition. 😭) And then of course, The Revo just sends me into an emotional wreck. Most of the openings are soooo good, but the last few ones go so hard on the heart. Ange always kills with his covers, so it's hard to say which one I liked best. Just keep em coming! 🤩

2025-12-24 17:55:57 +0000 UTCThis is my second comment in here, my hero academia was the reason I subscribed to you guys, along with one piece, seeing this show come to an end was very emotional for me, I love the opening rankings you guys do, but I have one comment, when I rank openings I would look at it as a whole, first of all, of course the song itself but also the visuals the lyrics, how they all connect together, the feelings I get experiencing it all together is what makes the opening great for me, I know ranking them while considering all of this might take lots of time, but yeah had to say it, because I noticed you guys try to exclude the visuals and not all the opening had the lyrics, I will definitely miss MHA content💔

XD To be serious, I loved hearing your opinions and hope you do the endings as well, some of them have some really neat visuals! The final opening being S just makes sense, it's too emotional not to be. My personal favorite opening was probably Tagatame since that was the first one I saw while watching MHA week to week and the vibe shift really got me hyped for each episode. As for my favorite cover of yours, it's so hard to pick! I loved them all and was always sad to see them go when the OP changed. The Odd Future cover stands out in particular, I love the way you captured the vibes so well. <3

My first interest in Japan came from Japanese bands and music, so it's a highlight for me how you do the covers and your rankings. I think I like Ange's cover of Odd Future the most, love the pick slide.

It's pretty insane how big of a gap there is too, but it's one of the most played anime openings... (Personally not one of my favourites like y'all, but it's fine to me)

2025-12-24 12:34:18 +0000 UTCY'all shouldn't be afraid to include visuals in your opening ratings, yes the song is the most important thing since if we take it away from the show to listen to, we rarely will rewatch the opening vs listening to it, but it's still worth considering the visuals. Relating it to attack on titan in a spoiler free way, it's similar to how Carlie felt that rush of energy from the harp + animation in the mid section of Akuma no Ko, visuals are there as part of the op/ed, feel free to include them!

It's basically what Akuma no Ko was for Attack on Titan lol Curtain Call was my favourite, my 3rd most played song of the year last year lol

However I feel like you guys always say "We're just focusing on ranking the songs, not so much the visuals" but I don't think you should do that! IMO, you guys already know the songs clearly, I think a lot of people want you guys to focus more on the visuals and I think visuals are most of what makes a good opening anyway! I'd even go so far as to say you should be focusing MORE on the visuals than the songs. Anyway, good stuff nonetheless.
