2025-12-13 05:31:36 +0000 UTCI think the endings tend to be more lyric driven, my faves are 10 and 17 lyric wise, love 13, 14 15 as well for their visuals. And yes 17 (dear friends) did play in the episode during Mary’s goodbye, I love the lyrics for that one a lot I almost memorise it. I tend to vibe with endings a lot so I was really disappointed when they stopped making them. Also that last ending reminded me, you guys need to watch the Chopper-Man episodes, there are many pre-time skip content you guys can watch before watching specials like OP Fan Letter which came out in recent time. I would recommend watching specials in the time they came out episode wise. Enjoy!!

2025-12-12 22:45:42 +0000 UTCThe only ending that really matters is the 1st ED "Memories". Most of the EDs are from early One Piece because the studio decided to discontinue EDs starting from ep 279. We had a whole 17 year span of no EDs.

2025-12-11 18:25:10 +0000 UTCMemories will always be the best ending song for me.. most nostalgic song for one piece and the most memorable and i understand you didn't know this because it is only to op fans who are engaged in OP contents in social media.. memories is probably the most covered one piece ending song.. most fans probably didn't know the other ending songs but memories is probably the most iconic for everyone.. also, most teary scenes in one piece, they often use memories as the song for those iconic emotional scenes.. i cry a lot watching clips for example going merry's departure with memories as the soundtrack

Also it is a bit crazy that in the time it took for only 6 ops they did 19 eds. Like you I do generally like ops more than eds but one ed I've always loved is the first hxh ed.

I couldn't listen to that song for a long time after, I can't deny that it's a great song, but I think it is the emotions tied to it that puts it in S for me.

2025-12-11 15:32:49 +0000 UTCThe endings are funny because there were like 2 or 3 endings for every opening while we had them but then after Enies Lobby there were no more endings until like 2023. So it seems like you should be a lot further in the story going through them and then they just end lol. The trade off for getting rid of endings was the openings got twice as long for a while. As to your question about the artists, a few of them did do openings! Tackey and Tsubasa did both ending 14 (the one with all the straw hats playing with animals) and Crazy Rainbow (the ska punk-ish opening), while TVXQ in addition to doing the really good Robin ending towards the end did both the special anniversary We Are as well as the following OP Share the World (for Sabaody-early Impel Down). While I love the old EDs for nostalgia I will say they've really taken a step up in quality since they've come back. As far as favorites, Memories is a classic but some of my underated favs include Watashi ga iru yo, Before Dawn, Glory, and Faith. Looking forward to Strong World!

2025-12-11 15:27:32 +0000 UTCEndings stopping at one point, as far as I know, is (1) because of viewer retention? They wanted the openings longer. It's a viewer retention strategy. Since the openings are basically spoilers (lol), they wanted to give the openings more emotion and incorporate more story and credits I guess. And as well as, put the credits on their as well. Since like Ange said, people don't watch the endings that much, credits on the ending won't get seen. So the credits that were suppose to be on endings, they put on the openings. Another reason is to cut costs/cost efficiency: since there's no ending, no need to produce an ending song and a visual for that. Remember, in the openings reaction, you noticed that the openings are longer? When the openings got longer, there was no endings at the end of the episode too. The moment you see the 'TO BE CONTINUED' on screen, that's it, episode's done. haha And honestly, I love the extended openings that they did throughout the years. Recently, when we got to the arc before the current one now, they added back the endings after 7 years. Because of that, openings are short again

I think the Merry one hit harder while watching that segment of the show when you weren't busy trying to figure out what it was referencing lol

2025-12-11 14:59:46 +0000 UTCEndings are always a hit or miss (especially early 20s i think), most are just there to chill out after the episode. Me personally i love Shining Ray and Memories a lot. Memories is just so iconic, they even made a similar ending to it recently when they started doing Endings again.

Even with the current endings, which are way better than pre timeskip ones, I still don’t think anything really tops the og. It’s just on a different level
