2025-11-17 23:18:26 +0000 UTCYou guys may not see this since I am commenting a bit late. But that scene where Jiraiya makes that weird comment to Naruto is not in the manga. The studio put it in there as filler. Their reasoning is that since Jiraiya would be taking a long stare at the seal on Naruto's stomach, he would need an excuse for doing so without drawing Naruto's suspicion to the seal. Imagine your teacher silently analyzing a weird tattoo-like mark on your stomach. You'd be worried. So the studio basically had Jiraiya say "Hey Naruto you have a tight sexy body" complementing his physique and that being the reason for staring prolonged at his stomach. What happened now is that things get lost in translation, and the English scripts made it way more creepy. In the end I think the Japanese studio should have just given up on the filler and stuck to the manga. It would have prevented their scene being taken way out of context by other studios.
