2025-09-02 13:53:44 +0000 UTCThis episode!!!! I cried so hard! When Endeavor encourages Toya to just let it all out, I felt like it was yet another added level to Endeavor's character development. The entire Todoroki family has always internalized the trauma they experienced and grew up with, and Endeavor finally realized that even with his eldest son being an outright villain, that's still his son and his resentment and anger are valid. He knows he failed massively as a father and just wants to listen and acknowledge Toya's feelings. A lot of people hate Endeavor for what he did to his family, and that's entirely valid. But, they also ignore the way he tries to own up to it throughout the seasons. Yes, he tried to force forgiveness in the beginning, but he was quickly made to realize that wanting his family to forgive him isn't the same as taking responsibility for his past actions. His character development is centered around him taking accountability for his abuse of the family, regardless of if his family forgives him or not. I think this scene really showcased that beautifully.
