At this reception. All the guest pretty much screamed at the two what to do next “HAVE CHILDREN!”
Great now I fear for Sylphie whenever Eris comes back. Thanks for that back brain paranoia.
Mr. Angelo “how did not see this? They have the same eyes same ears.”
That sounds like elf racism somehow. I will say the two do have the same Aohog (heir feature)
I think when Sylphie waited that minute after hearing Rudy beat Luke in a no magic sword fight she thinks Luke didn’t give his all, and I’m thinking that too now.
Ariel is the type friend who tells her friend’s fiancé “if you hurt her, it will be the last thing you do.” Her saying they take Sylphie back had an undertone of “I’ll lock in a cell were no one will find you if that comes”
You’re a good man cliff Greenmore. Remember when he was 13 and just hearing Rudy’s name made him jelly? 4 years later and him and Rudy are Best friends. For life.
Age counter
Nothing changes maybe it’s best to only bring this up wen it dose.
Shutting up now.

2 things that came up were the surprise at Elinalise being old enough to have great grand children and Juliette being shown to always be drinking.
In case you weren't too familiar with fantasy race stereotypes:
Elves are typically very long lived, sometimes they can't even die from old age at all. Iirc Elinalise is at least 200 years old.
Dwarves are also long-lived but usually more like multiple centuries, not millenia like elves. However another very popular dwarf trope is that they are extremely heavy drinkers and it's one of their favorite past times.

Don't forget that Rudy has the demon eye from Badi's wife Kishirika and he beat Eris using it only like a day or 2 after getting it.
They didn't show it in his duel with Luke, but he would have been able to see Luke's movements easily.
Rudy probably expected Luke's sword skills to be on par with his dad Paul before the duel started.
Also, Ruby has beaten a North God Saint (Gallus), though he was using magic in conjunction with the demon eye.

Sylphie and Elinalise being related does make sense though. I feel like it was intentionally foreshadowed in the first few episodes of the series when they were talking about Sylphie’s family and the fact that she was an elf in a human village

Dwarves in this world legit don’t get drunk though? It’s like really good water for them I thought? Am I wrong? Kinda like DnD rules.

They are already married. Cliff performed the ceremony in this episode, and they had their reception.

When Ariel asked Rudy to duel Luke, she wasn’t just muckin about, she was playin on his heartstrings. That’s why she only dropped the bombshell after the duel, that she’s headin back to Asura to stake her claim to the throne and it’s either she wins or dies. Full on gutsy, yeah?
She wanted Rudy to feel it... to clock that Luke, as weak as he is, is bound to be her only bodyguard. And don’t get it twisted, Luke’s not rockin some cheap gear from the local market, bloke’s kitted out head to toe in super rare magical gear. We’re talkin boosted strength and speed, armour that soaks up damage like a sponge and a bloody sword that cuts through plate like a hot knife through butter.
So the fact Rudy made him look second rate just shows ya, Luke might’ve been trained up to intermediate, but he’s nothin compared to a real intermediate or advanced swordsman with actual experience. Proper lightweight in the grand scheme. Course, the anime leaves all that info out.

Cliff may have his shortcoming but when it comes to loving a woman, he's a true man. his conviction is unmatched.

Its also just Rudy always uses keigo with everyone, cause he likes to keep them at distance, so he also won't drop that for almost anyone :)

Light Novel cut content: Princess Ariel actually gives an aphrodisiac and a dildo as a wedding present, why because stuff like this was normal in the capital of the Asura Kingdom. Also Luke made an attempt to hit on Nanahoshi, obviously it didn't go well.

I swear the only time i hope to see Charlie instaskip an op is the only one where she leaves me hanging there for 10 sec, man i was scared XD.
As another comment pointed out ep 4 -5 of this cour(or 16-17 of the season) are better watched together but also are 11-12(23-24) so if it doesn't disrupt your plans it will be nice to have 3 batch ep next week and for season finale.
Otherwise and i will bear on myself the hatred of all the fans here for saying this just do 1 episode next week and then you can do 10(22) alone and the last 2 together or a 3 ep batch in the end.
Love you guys and thanks for coming to my TedTalk

Be careful at even hinting when or how long they are because it still gives subtle implication. Even if you don't state what happens. Setting any expectation at all is still a small spoiler.

This. the power scaling of show is already that rudy is well beyond any normal person, in sword and magic. The thing is, we keep seeing him go up against others that are also well above the norm as well.

had a scare for moment when you didn't skip new intro right away. You must not watch that intro until you nearly finish season 2. It contains WAY too many spoilers.

Like others have mentioned, Rudeus only seems so physically incompetent to us because he has been constantly compared to insane fighters since the beginning of the show. Paul was a jack-of-all-trades who was an expert at all sword styles. Ghislaine is one of the most dangerous swordswomen in the world. Eris is a prodigy who trained under her and Rujierd, with hundreds of years of combat under his belt. In comparison, Luke is just a normal guy with above average talent and training from the Royal Capital but without any real combat experience.
During the scene with Cliff and Rudy shaking hands, Rudy is impressed by Cliff's convictions and recognizes how much he respects him. That's why when Cliff asks him to not be so formal (or respectful) Rudeus refuses, as if to say "nah, you deserve respect right now."

I can forgive all the weird pervy stuff from season 1. But I draw the line at underage dwarf alcoholism! That race has enough problems with the stuff as it is without a negligent human family to encourage it. Justice for Julie!

Another hint that Elina is related to Silfy is that Elina did start to flirt with Ruddy up untle she noticed the amulet Silfy gave him and then showed him her own, but that is only apparent in retrospect, My head canon is that she gives her kids that same amulet so she would know when she comes across a potential family member

He is an intermediate level swordsman, just like Rudeus, with some magic items boosting him, he is stronger than some random guy but he is overall really mediocre.
His actual strength isn't in fighting power, that's what Sylphy/Fitz is there for, but in his loyalty, to the point of gladly laying down his life for Ariel, and his social/political savviness.

Good point to note, Ruddy seems to be lacking in the showmanship only in comparison to god level opponents

This part of the season is the major emotional hook of the story. The general story slows down and it allows for major amounts of focus to be shifted to a very character driven section of the story, this part is one of my favorite parts. Really excited to see you guys watch the rest of this. Plus it's perfect timing because by the time you guys finish season 2 it'll only be a couple weeks at most before season 3 starts airing.

To be fair, I think Luke is pretty tough compared to normal people. Rudy has an eye that let's him see the future. He was even able to beat a genius like Eris with his below average swordsmanship.

It's funny how much rudy underestimates his skills but constantly surrounding himself with super strong individuals really took a hit to his confidence. The LN of his inner thoughts during the duel are pretty funny

Rudeus is intermediate tier in the Sword God style, a respectable level of skill considering he is a mage, and he was taught by Ghislane, one of the best Sword God fighters in the world. Rudy spent years fighting and training on the Demon Continent, whereas Luke was born and raised in the comfort of the Asuran capital. Although he is also intermediate rank in sword combat, he lacks the experience Rudeus has.
