Ok this is my interpretation of everything we just learned, an interpretation, not a fact, I’m as new as you two mostly.
Nanahoshi (her band means seven stars🙂) was summoned to this world just after Rudy died, but she also moved though space AND time, so she didn’t enter the world till 10 yeas after Rudeus died.
So (same time on Earth,) summoned to the future of this world. She has no mana becuse she is still an Earthlijg her biology doesn’t allow for it, ruddy was born in this world so naturally, his body is of this world and thus take in mana.
Nanahoshi did not die, she was taken. And Orsted found her.
Now we only have his word on this but Man God did tell Rudeus he dose not have the Power to Sumon or reincarnate others outside this world. (He called it the seven worlds or something doesn’t matter) though he did nation a name saying it could be them. That was the first time we saw him.
So that’s how I interpreted all this information along with the previous information that we have.
Master Fitz was poerful emotionally wen they attacked, and we got confirmation that her parents are dead.
Lastly I want to praise the dub, they did a great job of slipping into Man gob and English during the Nanahoshi questioning, it reminded me that though out this series Rudy is speeding nan gob all the time wuth out us hearing it, credited him for even remembering fluent Japanese wuth out using it for so long.
Age counter
Hay it’s back that I got some bearings.
Rudy and Fitz are 15 (Nanahoshi says she came and probably caused a disaster, which took place a day after Rudy’s 10th birthday, she says she’s been here for 5 years so baby math. And Sylphy is Rudy’s age. (My teachers always annoyed me by telling me to show my work so I’m showing my work.
I HATE MATH.)
Shuttering up now.

I remember the first time, i was seeing this episode i was so concentrated and absorbing all the lore i could. And the building on the different languages of japanese and the original in that world, the way they communicante and speak, and obviously the response of syplhie in that moment and how scared was rudy when she see her again, and knowing theres a lot of things we dont know like the teleportation, man god, orsted, etc. Only mushoku can build the lore and history and make it naturally and human way.

That's why her name was always spoken in English before, the Japanese version would have been a dead giveaway both to her origin as well as spoiling her appearance a few episodes early.

I haven't watched/read anything beyond what you guys have watched, but it makes complete sense to me to suspect Man-God of being the one behind at LEAST Rudy's reincarnation. He IS appearing to him and guiding him after all... so he has a vested interest.
Also, I think Orsted took a liking to Nanahoshi likely because she was the first person he ever met who wasn't affected by the curse on him that makes every living thing in this world hate him. She's not from THIS world.

It might seem confusing but to me, at least, it makes a ton of sense that Nanahoshi doesn't have mana. She wasn't born in this world and didn't grow up there at all. It seems like you have to be born there and grow up there to develop mana... and we've already had it confirmed that the earlier you start practicing magic the more mana you'll have.
Another note is that Nanahoshi said she stopped aging... so it's not even POSSIBLE for her to "grow up" anymore in this world to even have a chance to develop mana (if that's even possible in itself).

Nanahoshi in Japanese means Silent Seven Stars, that's why they call her that at the school

Love the attention to detail the with fictional language switching to Japanese to shoe Sylphie's perspective. Also her voice acting in this scene is phenomenal.
The direction is beautiful, the viewer watching her appear concerned and confused when they start speaking another language and then resign herself and looking down... Cutting back to her looking worried every few scenes... you can really imagine a myriad of emotions building up. She is uncomfortable and anxious, and finally when they switch back to common language and Nanahoshi claims she was the cause of the mana disaster the floodgates open.
It's always the timid ones that you have to watch out for! Lol

Also notice how she's the only character we've seen with black hair.
And yes, there's been some temporal separation between them because of the different methods that brought them here.

Yes, she was in the first episode. She was one of the people rudy tried to warn about the truck.

This series has incredibly interesting worldbuilding and lore. This episode is probably the start of Rudy delving into the deep mysteries of this world, and for that reason (also Sylphie’s heartbreaking rage) it’s one of my favorites.

you have to remember that only 5 years have past since the teleportation incident, therefor Rudy is 15 now

This episode is when I really fell in love with this show. Having an episode with this much excitement and tension when it’s just talking in one room is impressive. I loved hearing Nanahoshi call their world morally dubious, as a little recognition the author is well aware of how the controversial things in this show come across. Also them making an entire language basically just for this episode is amazing.

I also found it honestly adorable how Sylphie just patiently waited for Rudeus and Nanahoshi to finish their discussion despite the fact that she must’ve been so anxious knowing they had something between them and they were talking in a secret language right in front of her

Yes Nanahoshi was the girl Rudeus “saved” from truck-kun in the first episode. I’m not going to spoil anything of course but I’ll just say the age-related question is a valid question to be curious about. But these sorts of episodes are always my favorites to watch especially with you guys because the discussions are always really interesting hearing you guys theorize and speculate (also why I would love for you guys to react to lord of the mysteries someday)

They do such a good job of conveying the traumas that Rudy has. Whether it's due to the shame from his old world, or the deep, primal, fear he has of being killed. So many little things trigger him, but they make perfect sense.
Also, have to point out the not cleverness of Nanahoshi's alias, Silent Sevenstar. Her full name is Nanahoshi Shizuka. Shizuka in Japanese means quiet, nana is one of the many ways they have to say seven, and hoshi means star. It's not much of an alias, and I think that in the LN, Rudeus basically says that it's too on the nose.
Also, the trailer for season 3 just dropped yesterday or something. Obviously, you should finish season two before watching it. Can't wait!
