Kumadori, the CP9 member whose performance was a mystery to you😅, is presenting a form of traditional Japanese theatre (Kabuki) and yes, that over-the-top stylized way of talking/ singing with the specific soundtrack (Japanese instruments) is standard there.. It seems very familiar to the Japanese audience when they see that character and his shenanigans but non-Japanese viewers might feel lost to this specific cultural context🙂↕️ (he does seem out of place after all..)

2025-04-07 01:12:47 +0000 UTCYeah, I get that take, and I’m a Sanji fan so I’m biased, but honestly, I don’t think Luffy would ever want Sanji to go against his moral compass, even in a situation like this. That’s just not how the crew works. The Straw Hats are such a wholesome bunch because they always have each other’s backs. If one of them can’t handle something, someone else steps in without making a big deal out of it. Like, Nami or someone else would totally cover for Sanji here, and then he’d show up strong in a different moment. They all kind of balance each other out like that, no one’s ever really useless in the crew
