I just have a minor correction to make, if you don't mind - Tenya/Ingenium's actual last name is Iida (with a double "i" at the beginning) - that's a confusing artifact of romanization, but this is basically how long vowels are spelled when converting Japanese names to Latin alphabet. Sorry if that came off as nitpicky - I agree with everything you wrote!

2025-03-13 01:35:34 +0000 UTCNGL rewatching the show through the reactions and especially throughout this arc, I am noticing Monoma is very similar to Lida but more socially awkward. Both are serious/compeititive about their class succeeding and sometimes they speak in way that the others dont understand. Except Lida get spotlight and his mannerism is less scary. But Monoma is giving more early Lida vibes before his character development. Especially with him doing random arm movement and the awkward evil laugh and him lecturing. It just reminds of when 1st day of school when Lida went up to Bakugo about his feet on the desk.
