2025-02-03 03:35:35 +0000 UTCWhen they mentioned “decreasing intelligence,” Migi was saying that when he splits up, his pieces lack intelligence more and more the smaller they are, so the ones that are now in Shinichi’s bloodstream have virtually no intelligence of their own. That’s why Migi can’t even direct them back to his main chunk anymore. Also, it seemed like there was confusion about this too, so to clarify, the itty bitty pieces of Migi swimming through his bloodstream are able to survive inside/using his body just like main Migi does. That’s how they survive, regardless of their size. When he sends pieces outside of his body, the smaller they are the quicker they die, because they need (and are lacking) the necessary nutrients. For instance a small, malnourished person would generally last less time without food than a larger person since the skinny one would have less fuel to work with. I hope this helps! If not, I think rewatching the scene where he demonstrates making smaller copies of himself will do the trick :)
