The A rank captain, or Jinwoo, said that one of those soldier orcs puts up at least a fair fight with an A rank. At the beginning of season one, we see multiple S ranks struggling against the ants. We haven't heard a thing about S rank dungeons being a thing, so I'm assuming those ants were at least A rank, and their sheer numbers were making the S ranks struggle. It makes me wonder if Jinwoo could even solo that room of orcs and their leader, when he was saying the boss he wanted to take a peek at was definitely stronger than the last boss he fought that made him struggle slightly. Here's to hoping Cha He comes in and we get to see her "elegant combat style", animations probably gonna go crazy

2025-02-02 18:19:34 +0000 UTCFun fact: Kargalgan's VA is the same as All Might's xD Some clarifications for the episode, Son Kihoon is not Jinho's brother, he's just an A rank hunter from Hunter's Guild and the unofficial leader of the B squad (Hunter's Guild is the only guild with two squads able to clear an A rank gate hence why they're considered the strongest). If you recall, Jinho's brother has not awakened any powers and that's also why Jinho wants his dad to entrust the Yoojin guild to him instead. The whole thing with Hae-in smelling Jinwoo is I think meant both meant as a narrative reminder to Jinwoo on how different he is from normal hunters, as a "player". And it's also a prelude to furthering Hae-in's character since up til this point we've only seen her be this cool, aloof and somewhat people-shy character and this is the first time she finds herself intrigued by a fellow hunter. It's a funny detail but it makes sense from Hae-in's perspective since she's had issue with regular hunter smells since she awakened. I saw it as similar to how Jinwoo's mom went into Eternal Sleep due to Mana exposure so I'm guessing awakened hunters set off a unique smell due to their Mana which Hae-in is sensitive to (not sure if this is explained more in the novel) Also the orc glitching, people already explained but it's due to Kargalgan talking through him, not cos of the system. In the scene before that you can see the orc screaming some gibberish to Kihoon before switching to Japanese.

Like, is it a plot device because author is trying to say something about how hunters have different scent from non-hunters yet jinwoo the player is outlier to this rule... or is it just a weird fetish. in case of later i am not a fan but as long it has well written narrative purpose i am all for it no matter how weird it is

They went to Jeju Island and discovered that the monsters there started evolving, which is something that never happened before (I think they mentioned something like this, at the least they were very surprised).
