2025-01-31 01:36:41 +0000 UTCThe Davy Back fights fill me with rage every single time I watch them I hate Foxy's entire crew. I want to start this rant by saying I understand that the narrative intentionally has the Straw Hats play fair to make you dislike the Foxy Pirates more (which works) but it still annoys me because I feel like some characters act more honest than they are to keep up that approach of playing fair. The rules are very vague, and easily exploitable. The easy one is the interference allowed piece, because I feel like characters like Nami and Robin would have no qualms doing that. I believe they don't because they know the boys pride will be hurt but I would have liked them to try and then be stopped at least. But the biggest offender is Robin. She absolutely murders that one guy from Skypia with the Ax dial vest. She snaps his spine (or neck I forget) and rolls him off a cliff. We see in the race that the Foxy boat is in her range, just snap their necks. If you really don't want to kill anyone, just put them in a chokehold to knock them out. This is one of the few times I feel like characters act not like themselves for the sake of the plot. I know this is a nitpick but the Foxy Pirates just fill me with a white hot anger. I literally took the time to think of a pirate crew for myself with some devil fruits and everything just to imagine curbstomping Foxy and his goons. I want to reiterate, I understand why what I wanted to happen didn't happen, it endears us to the Straw hats and makes us hate Foxy. I just was ignited with passion watching this and I wanted to rant. Thank you for listening. Edit: I forgot Nami stole the ref's cards, so I'm glad she at least does something.

Everything that holds weight does so because we know what they've been through to get there! Like yes the writing in water 7 is TOP SHELF but amazing plot without earned characterization is just interesting events that happen in a row -- the heart, like you said, it's what makes it so impactful. I wish more people saw it that way 😭

2025-01-26 18:28:50 +0000 UTCThe first half of this arc is strong, the 2nd half is where I think it drags a lot. Its not bad arc imo but I think its couple episode too many. it should have been 7-9 episodes. 13 episode was a bit much. people saying skip is because compared to Alabasta and some other arcs, this arc doesnt have much impact on the story. But it introduces key character interactions/moments like Zoro/Sanji, Zoro’s emphasis on pride, and Nami’s smart/navigation. So it’s not a skip like people say. For bounty system, I think bounty increment/decrement should be based on vibes. Cause I feel like if it is based on actions per episode, Luffy would win every big arc even in Skypiea since so many episode had him in some ways. While someone like chopper who misses a lot of episodes will def not be close to winning. Like if Luffy/Zoro wins a fight like we know he prob wins should considered less cause he is a fighter. But if Nami can overcome the same character, the vibe should be higher on that one.

2025-01-26 18:28:20 +0000 UTCA lot of One Piece fans are so eager for anyone who starts watching to get to Water 7 and beyond because it has some of the best action content of the series. But they take it way too far. That’s why so many people said to skip this, they don’t really enjoy the comedy and slow moments. There’s even a large contingent of people that say to skip the first 200 freaking episodes to get to Water 7. The first several hundred episodes has the most heart in the show.
