2025-01-19 15:27:55 +0000 UTCJust finished watching! I've been so hyped for you guys' reactions to this episode as anime-only watchers. While I've read the manhwa, I'm yet to read the light novel and I know that the anime adapts from both sources and has thus made some strategic changes to the plot progression that's different to the manhwa, in order to fit the flow of the anime narrative better. So far I'm really loving this adaptation because a) it gives more consistency to the anime-only viewers without shifting away too much from the manhwa and b) it gives some more context to the scenes that are either glossed over or skipped in the manhwa (like the first Jeju island recon mission by the Hunter's guild). But ultimately since the manhwa was my first source for this series, I wanted to get you guys' thoughts on this episode and I'm glad you were also able to follow well with the plot progression so far. The story really picks up from here on out. Jinwoo's dad is back wohoo! He's voiced by one of my favourite badass-anime-dad-character voice actors lmao, the minute I heard his voice I was off my seat cheering! xDDD Also love how both of you did not pick up on Il-hwan being Jinwoo's dad based on his last name being Sung. Although the American characters' dialogues were still in Japanese, I like that they kept in the difference in how they say his name there (first name-last name) instead of the usual Japanese/Korean style of saying last name first. It made the reveal of Jinwoo being his son that much more shocking lol (I'm sure there are folks who might have suspected it at least but glad you guys didn't cos that wide-eyed reaction was epic! xDD) The Dadwoo/Dongsoo fight was off-screen in the manhwa too so you guys didn't miss anything there. I absolutely ADORE Jinwoo's and Jinho's relationship in this series. It's one of the cutest things ever! Not Jinho being sad that the shadow army were taking away his one job in the dungeons lmao xDD Glad they were able to work it out. Ange shushing Carlie when Cha Hae-in came on screen was hilarious and not at all unexpected LMAOO! I hope we'll get more of her next episode, if not the one after that, however they've decided to pace the upcoming chapters. Based on the title preview the next episode will be epic too. I'm really loving the way the shadow army's personality is adapted in the anime! This ep was slightly different to the manhwa regarding some of the light-hearted scenes but it makes sense from the anime perspective. Either way looks like some of the goofiness is here to stay which is awesome. Also loving that that Momma Ice Bear now has a name, Tank! Thanks so much for this reaction as always you guys! So looking forward to next week!
