Haven’t seen episode 11 yet, but just to touch on Shigaraki, this is a guy who previously thought all of the new members were useless and didn’t want them. He was the face of the organization, but not necessarily a leader. But in that scene with him taking off the hand and staring them in the face, this is the first time he’s acted like an actual leader. It’s basically the MHA equivalent to Barbossa’s “Boys, take a walk.” order in POTC. He doesn’t need to give them specific orders because he knows the yakuza will want them specifically for their quirks and that they may be the most pliable to betray Shigaraki. The problem is that they don’t know that Toga and Twice follow their own code first and foremost - and then the whims and orders of their leader, so long as that leader allows them to do what /they/ want. Plus Shigaraki knows Twice and Toga are angry at the yakuza for what they did at the meeting, so he knows he’s sending essentially two chaos gremlins into the organization to do damage in their own way and he trusts their decisions. It’s a small, but significant moment.

Like his physical strength had nothing to do with his quirk... damn imagine if he got One for All, he would have almost been invincible. Of course, I still love Deku but just the possibilities ya know. Also if the show was a little bit darker, he can literally just crush a villain's heart and be done with it.

I wonder if Stain would have approved of the decisions Lemillion made in the beginning, and what he would have to say about the actions this episode.

Yes ofc it makes sense that they were forced to do something based on circumstances and that blame does not completely fall on them but i just focused on the fact that it sucks it had to be done as it sometimes literally change the plot. Like, when you write subs no matter how true you stay to original something is lost in translation. But when you start changing the subs to dumb it down and "explain to readers" what they meant, it just feel even worse (yes sub thing is unrelated to kirishima thing at hand but its just another way of explaining what i mean). I know they had no choices but to censor it, but by censoring it they completely changed the tone of the scene and some of the stuff being said and done was taken the wrong way or was not nearly as impactful because of it. Like with Rappa offering first aid to kirishima. Knowing how beaten bloody kirishima was and how much of his skin he was missing, getting that first aid might be difference between life and death. But with censorship and seeing kirishima barely bruised, the talk about first aid just sound like Rappa is sadistic person who wants round 2 right away. "just slap a bandage on it and lets fight again"... it completely takes away from rappa's (and kirishima's to be honest) character because cencorship takes away the weight from the scene

Rappa is not loyal to Overhaul, he just wants a good fight to the actual death where he would be reinstated as a tool; on the other hand, he genuinely respects Kirishima and Fat Gum because they played a fairly fair fight (unlike the shield guy and Overhaul)-- of course he's going to help Kiri over Overhaul, he even says he doesn't care about getting arrested because that was what Kiri and Fat had earned through winning against him. As Fat says, people like Rappa are so honest there's never a reason to doubt him. Nighteye doesn't deserve it, I know he's husbando No2 after Aizawa, but I honestly? Rock Lock has more of a case with how he Deadbolted the walls. The Rappa Nighteye faced was a Twice clone, meaning that it was no where near as strong or durable (Aizawa's binding cloth would have destroyed him as we saw in the training arc with Dabi). Nighteye will get his moment, don't worry, but they're building to it, and this is not it. Aizawa I can see-- especially how he held to his promise of keeping an eye on Deku and grabbing him the way he did to save him from being separated. You guys didn't pick up on it, but he did actually managed to cut Toga when he drew his own knife (just under her eye, her blush is kinda hiding it), plus when he used his binding cloth, he actually covered her up so she wasn't naked. Then, he directed Deku to grab the knife Toga dropped (she doesn't have his blood) and tend to Rock Lock, who's injury is more severe than his own. But TOGA? She's MVP: not only in the past does she stand up for herself when she thinks Tomura is cutting them out, but she also defends Twice against himself because all this time he's been blaming himself for Big Sis Mag's death, but there she is telling him 'no, it's okay, you couldn't have known and it's not your fault'. Not to mention she got the drop on both Rock Lock AND Aizawa-- that move she pulled over his binding cloth was AWESOME and shows at close range, she's better than even him, but she also helped Twice with his panic attack and DID. To top it all off, it was her idea to manipulate Mimic and the heroes so they could both work together to take down Overhaul, and you've seen how it played out in the next episode. TLDR: Toga outclassed Aizawa, was a great teammate without losing her self respect, and hatched a plan to solve everyone's main problem being the Shie Hassaki

I don't think we've ever seen twice NOT make a perfect clone. His quirk information says he can only make identical copies and even needs their measurements to do it at all.

2025-01-07 18:40:05 +0000 UTCI fully agree with most of how you feel. But this isn't as simple as censorship for money. Age ratings in anime and manga aren't the same. Anime has much stricter ratings as it get's aired on live TV. TV also works in contracts. MHA is contractually obligated to air on a certain channel. This had no issues because the first three seasons have no need for censorship. But once season 4 came around they had no choice as they can't switch TV channels. Also if you want more seasons then money is needed. Anime doesn't make as much money as you think, unless it's a big movie. Bloody anime did very poorly for a very long time. That beginning to change but slowly

And its not really about portayal of sadness its just about censorship. they cant get more money from anime unless they make it presentable to kids and if they stay true to manga that episode would not be possible to air or whole anime would have to change its age rating which would lose them lot of money. whats sad is how money talks and ruins stuff XD

ALSO the drunk quirk was still working on him the entire time. He was fighting with no quirk and his body moving like he was black out drunk.

2025-01-07 16:08:38 +0000 UTCfor 4x10 mvp i see why you'd put toga in there and i dont hate it. i personally like rappa the most that episode but mostly for his character. depending of definition of "MVP" i would agree with toga over rappa, but if we just put there whoever we think shined the most or had best moment i think rappa deserves at least honorable mention for knocking out the barrier guy and showing respect to kirishima, also ratting out on overhaul and talking about first aid for kirishima (which again, is probably trivial and useless bit of dialogue in anime showing how kirishima looks barely bruised compared to bleeding mess that he is in manga)

He could have said we need their help, we need their power, etc... but he didn't. He "trusts" those 2 in particular would betray Overhaul without him having to give the order. It's also supported by the convoluted way they were asked if Shigaraki ordered them to betray Overhaul. If they were asked if they were planning on betraying overhaul, I believe their answer would have been yes.

I really like the scene when he kicked Kurono (Overhaul's assistant) in the face before he grabbed Eri for the first time... to think how deliquiate he has to be to keep his foot permeated first to go through Eri's face without kicking her, then changes the top half of his foot to normal while keeping only the bottom half permeated to kick the guy's face without hurting her.... JUST WOW!

2025-01-07 15:18:05 +0000 UTCkirishima was in way worse state than shown in anime, rappa was blowing up bits and pieces of hardened skin with each blow, literally leaving big chunks on body with open wounds that would bleed out but kirishima used his quirk to harden the blood and turn it into shield that filled in the gaps in his armor which is what allowed him to keep taking punches from rappa. Once his "unbreakable" worn off and he stopped using his quirk he was bleeding so much his whole body was covered in blood, and in this episode he looks barely bruised with some cracks in his hero suit instead of a mess that he was in manga

I also agree with giving Toga MVP in ep 10 with Aizawa and Nighteye a close second, though I'd put Aizawa a step above Nighteye since NE was facing against Twice's clone, not the actual Rappa. Just to clarify, Toga didn't get Aizawa's blood since she lost the syringe/knife thingy she stabbed Aizawa with. Unless I'm mistaken I don't think she got his blood. Loved your reactions to Mirio's fight with Overhaul! I'm so so excited for the next set of episodes!! can next week come already haha!!
