fair enough but it always made sense for me that the avatar is the master of all elements so they should absolutely be able to do any of the subelement bending that's discovered with a little practice, it's literally their big thing.

We saw Roku lavabend in ATLA, Avatars learning to bend the specialized elements isn't new. Also to call something "triviliazed" completely neglects the fact there has been about 60+ years to perfect these bending techniques, If they hadn't made it more common by now I'd be more annoyed at the lack of world building.

This is so unfair to Korra's character especially since she isn't the first one to learn a specialized bending technique. There are probably earlier examples but Kyoshi for example can lavabend.

The only thing that bugs me is that they let Korra be able to metal bend. I always felt that those special evolutions of bending should be solely for those with that specific bending element (fire=lightning bending, water=blood bending, and earth=metal bending). The Avatar shouldn't be able to use or learn a bending evolution especially one that is not of her natural element. It allowed normal benders to have something unique to them that the Avatar didn't.
