Back in the ATLA book2 episode after Zuko finally gave up the "blue spirit" mask(symbolically letting go of some of his inner demons). Uncle Iroh tracked him down to the Dai Li catacombs where Appa was captured. Uncle Iroh yells at Zuko and Zuko lets Appa go free. When they return to their apartment, he became seriously ill. Uncle Iroh told Zuko he was changing and it would not be a pleasant experience. When Zuko woke, he literally was in an almost different personality good mood. He enjoyed Uncle's soup and then was happy to help work at the tea shop. Lin goes through a similar scenario. just with a different medium(acupuncture). after she gets ill and fights Su and gets it out of her system, She wakes up completely in a good mood and somewhat at peace.

2024-12-07 12:54:02 +0000 UTCThere's this theory going around that could be tying into Lin's feelings in these episodes, not sure if anyone has mentioned before. Theory goes that Tenzin left Lin and married Pema because Lin didn't want/wasn't ready for/couldn't have kids, and Pema was willing and young (Tenzin was 41 when Jinora was born, and Pema was 25, Lin was 40). Not to say that he doesn't love Pema of course, he does, but we've seen how he heavily feels that continuing the airbending line falls on his shoulders, so him wanting a lot of kids to continue the culture makes sense. According to this theory, it's another reason why Lin feels resentful against Su, Su got her fairy tale ending with a husband and kids, and Lin is alone (not to say that being alone is bad ofc, but we don't know how long she was with Tenzin before they broke up and he moved on)

2024-12-07 10:30:22 +0000 UTClove the lin episodes, so good. it’s worth remembering, korra is an exceptionally, naturally gifted bender. she was easily bending three elements before any avatar training. it was mainly just air and its spiritual aspects that she’s really struggled with—makes sense she’d pick up metal surprisingly quickly. can’t wait for more!
