He has so many layers to him and I love his development so far! I also love that Carlie pick up on parallel between Bakugo/Deku & Endeavor/All Might. The show set that up quite nicely in the Sports Festival Arc and it has been a continuing theme since. Like Ange said, the “rival” dynamic is also one of my favorite tropes in anime, and I think the Deku & Bakugo dynamic is one of the best parts of MHA. I love them both so much. 🥲

2024-12-04 23:57:27 +0000 UTCSPOILERS - maybe…? lol : Deku never felt like he needed to hold resentment towards him, because he’s not a hateful person, the path of forgiveness is a 2 way street and was chosen. No Extreme consequences were needed. And the people around Deku know that Deku knows Ka-chan deeper so observe from a distance. It’s personal between them. Outside of that, Bakugou gets called out all the time for his volatile attitude.

2024-12-04 23:41:29 +0000 UTCYiu missed my whole point I don't like bakugos character because I don't feel like he's written well and there are no consequence of his actions he gets of with anoass and no one ever talks about how he treated deku like a piece of shi at all through the whole show not even ochako endeavor is an abuser yes but his actions are show to negatively affect himself and his family he gets no free pass and it is shown to negatively affect him

2024-12-04 23:25:24 +0000 UTCSpoiler Never said bakugo go is not a great character he is I just hate how they handle the whole bullying thing making dekunchase after his bully and want to be friends with him that is so unrealistic just like she sad she fells bad for bakugo what is there to feel bad about for him he is a bully that cannot bully deku anymore because deku is not weak anymore if deku did not gain powers bakugo would have continued to bully him it reminds me of someone bullying so one in middle school and the in highschool the kid that was bullied becomes popular and then the bully tries to switch up and act like nothing every happened

2024-12-04 23:21:10 +0000 UTCIt might seem like nonsense when Bakugou said that he felt like Deku was looking down on him because we know Deku would never do that. But if you actually look at it from Bakugou's POV, it actually makes sense. All the scenes where Deku was being heroic, despite being weak, and offered help to Bakugou (when he fell in the river, the sludge villain etc.), for Bakugou that is basically an insult. In his mind it was like "Why would a guy who is so much weaker than me and who doesn't even have a quirk, think that he could help ME?" and the only answer he could come up with was that he must be looking down on him because otherwise Deku wouldn't think a small fry like himself could help him. That thought process is very Bakugou-like with his fixation on a strength based hierarchy but it does make sense for someone like Bakugou to feel like that. I'm glad he told Deku about it, because Deku had no idea that Bakugou perceived his actions in that way. Of course Deku never intended for his actions to come across like that, so I'm really glad they opened up to each other about how they really feel. This was a big step for Bakugou and their rivalry/friendship and to this day, this episode remains as one of my favourites.

2024-12-04 23:17:02 +0000 UTCDude, there is a difference between Good character, and Good person. People like him for tenacity and most people realise his attitude doesn’t start out healthy. But people naturally like to see people grow and overcome their fault. The same goes for a lot of antagonistic characters in stories. It’s why Endeavour and the LOV are so popular. We like stories of growth or even decent, we appreciate movement “an Adventure” no matter where that path leads. The morally complex characters in MHA are the best written because Hirokoshi understands human emotions well. There is a reason why Deku is the lead and is the embodiment of empathy. Try not to look at things for where they were but for where they go and aim to go. Watch what they “Endeavour” to do.

2024-12-04 21:49:19 +0000 UTCi can understand the dislike for bakugo even though he's my favorite character. but i don't think its fair to say that he told deku to kill himself mutiple times, it was only once that we saw in the anime and even his goons said he went too far there. you also have to keep in mind bakugo is a 15 year old spoiled kid, ofc he won't have the temperament of deku. i think he had amazing character development personally

2024-12-04 19:41:12 +0000 UTCI’m with Ange, this episode is my fav in season 3, I really appreciate the depth in writing of characters, and in this episode we have one of the greatest character developments, my fav part of this episode is bakugo voice actor, the crack in his voice really got to me and the emotions are on a different level honestly, was so excited to see your reaction for the episode and it really paid off!
