2024-12-03 15:23:52 +0000 UTCThe episodes are anime canon, and I actually dont get why ppl always seem to make such a fuss about whats originally in the manga when the anime provides stuff that in some cases is even better than the manga. Since it is all fictional I choose what I want to experience and in some casesnai even chose some good written fanfiction over some canon arcs that I dont like.

This is the word for raccoon, but it's also a word for an animal in Japanese myth, which is like a cross between a raccoon and a dog. Think Tom Nook from Animal Crossing or the raccoon suit from Mario games. This is a joke because it's a play on Chopper being a "tonakai" which is the Japanese word for reindeer, and he's also intentionally designed by Oda to look like a tanuki. The words sounds similar in Japanese because of the consonant sounds at the beginning of the syllables. Also, fun fact, the word tonakai is where Chopper's name "Tony Tony" comes from.

Chopper can handle himself but he's young and inexperienced and cant yet hold his composure. Oda does differentiate from gags and character moments. Chopper being scared is a gag, not a character moment. Usopp is not strong, pretty much every person here could probably kill him. He lacks confidence so much he hasn't even really capitalized on his Slingshot yet. Him being scared in situations is about 60/40 gag and character building. But One Piece character building is very slow, I'm talking hundreds of episodes, of little tiny moments that build up to something huge. Y'all are only about 30% through the beginning of Usopp character arc.

2024-12-02 20:38:30 +0000 UTCAs someone who watched One Piece 3 times i have to say - Satori and these Ballpeople are the most annoying characters of one piece X/ fckn balls its so annoying for real. The halfepisode cuts are always two parts. You may start playing to guess wich character is shown in the second when you see/hear the first one coming. It's most of the time a character thats focused on in the same episode.
