2025-02-21 07:54:29 +0000 UTCI dont know if you guys should watch season 2 but as someone who has seen all of the anime including TG Re and read the manga, without making spoilers this is what is wrong with the rest of the anime, season 2 is completely different aside for a few scenes almost all of it is anime original they tried to finish the story similar to how the manga ended but it didn't make any sense and its so confusing that you must read the manga to fill in the holes, now TG Re is the same the first part they stuck to the manga story and it so peak (even tho if you only watch the anime you are going to be so confused cause the beginning of TG Re only makes sense if you read the anime) but the second part even tho they stuck to the events and the story of the manga it is super rushed all of the main events of the manga where adapted to a lot of the dialogues that give depth to the characters were cut they adapted a story that could easily been 30-40 anime ep in 12 ep, so I think reading the manga is essential to understand what the writer wanted to accomplish with this tragic story and watching the anime is just enjoying the story thru a different medium where you have to fill in the holes with manga

2025-01-27 16:57:18 +0000 UTCIt's been a while for me but I read the entire manga (including re:) before watching the anime and don't recall ever being as upset about it as everyone seems to be. It was definitely not the same and a bunch was left out but I still don't get the hate 🥺 I honestly think it's worth continuing (even if it's on your own and not for the channel), especially if you plan to read the manga for the whole story. I've had plenty of ppl tell me stuff is good or bad and ended up feeling the opposite after, but you can't know for yourself if you don't watch. Just a personal opinion/trait ofc but I like experiencing the whole story even if I don't enjoy it 100% of the time. At the very least, I agree with the others who want s2 reactions, I think it ends in a way that is less of a cliffhanger if you plan to not watch more after it. P.S. manga still 100x better tho 👌 some of my favorite art Either way, you guys are great and your reactions for other shows are just as fun 🩵

2025-01-03 15:09:19 +0000 UTCI know im kind of late to comment but i'll still do it, it's not just season 2 that is unfaithful, season 1 is too, it's just acceptable and nothing compared to what they did with season 2. Because it's not that season 2 is just bad or unfaithful, it's a kind of unfaithful that ruins the entire show and all of the events, so you should definitely go for the manga, as the art is considered one of the greats, and the story is amazing !

As it stands though I think all the seasons are still above average when compared to your normal anime.

I remember not enjoying it at all, even as someone who hasn't read the manga. I rewatched the first ep a few years ago and I still didn't like it. I recommend watching it in your own time to see whether or not you like it ! that way you won't feel obligated to post reactions.

2024-12-03 09:28:17 +0000 UTCseason 2 was good, i hope you guys do react to it! yes, it doesnt follow the manga (which it sounds like is the main reason some people are disagreeing). i agree season 3 & 4 arent worth reacting to but thats fine and personally, the ending of season 2 felt complete for me anime-wise (a bit similar to how i felt watching the hunter x hunter ending even though its not technically the end). if you did truly like this then i think you guys would find it enjoyable and id love to watch your reaction. but its up to you guys! also, i believe season 1 ends at around chapter 60 in the manga so if you end up wanting to experience the manga version, you can pick up from there or just read from the beginning

The fact that it completely deviates from manga instead of just doing the same thing in a different way doesn't help in making it extra confusing if you want to pick up manga or season 3 after that, but the writing simply isn't good even without that.

If you want to know what happens after kaneki "eating" jason and all the details that might have left behind in season1, just try reading the manga. Better move on to other interesting shows.

Honestly, I think you shouldn't watch Tokyo Ghoul if you're only going to watch S1 because S1 ends on such an interesting point. For me S3 was the absolute worst, like by far, not even close. I gave S1 and S2 an 8/10 and then S3 a 5/10.

2024-11-29 11:39:09 +0000 UTCCarlie's so relatable xD "0 rewatchability" is how I felt for the manga as well xD If it weren't for you guys reacting to it, I don't think I would've considered watching the anime. It was fun to remember some details I'd forgotten, since I read the manga ages ago. Kaneki's transformation definitely stayed with me, because it represented the death of Kaneki ver.1. As a manga reader, I thought it was an interesting way to end the season. Definitely felt like they were rushing the story along in the last few episodes, cutting things off so as to leave enough relevant information about the CCG vs Aogiri clash, but they did the fight with Jason pretty well. Loved the piano-only soundtrack that transitioned into "Unravel". Thanks for the reactions and hope you guys have a good holiday season!

The piano and the opening following the pain in kanekis voice, the crazy jason personality and, the tentative and soft but kinda sad voice of rize. Hits so hard. I dont remember that much about season 2 but i remember kinda liking. I think the anime get a rly bad downgrade is in season 3.

One of the main themes of the manga is keeping one's humanity so I'd say your theories at the end about what will become of Kaneki after are very fitting. Remember that while Rize and Jason influenced him in a life-changing way, so did the people at Anteiku including Touka, Hinami and the rest of them.

Because you guys haven't read the manga I would recommend watching the rest of it just to get closure with the story. I've said before there some people who are very vocal who love to hate on shows and put people off watching them.

A bit fast paced but great I thought... Then I read the manga and understood how bad they made the anime. The first season is the best out of the 4 seasons but still misses important details that become important later on. If you still want to enjoy Season 2 then don't read below SPOILER MINOR SPOILER Season 2 is, I would say, compressed into a summary of fights, no real connection between events and got an anime original ending

I am one of those people who thinks you should watch season 2 at least , because it gives a closure to the chapter season one leaves open . So it’s at least some sort of closure for you guys as well. I do however understand there are other patrons waiting for other shows so either way I’ll be happy to watch more shows with you guys 😁
