Arcane 2x9 REACTION!

sadness as expected

Comments

we already know that it is canon. characters can die tho, who cares

Mathies

the first kiss is kinda out of place on purpose. thats kinda the entire point of it and them breaking up after. the sex scene, Vi just didnt know that meant jinx was gonna kill herself rather than just removing herself from vi's life and leaving

Mathies

I also don't think she's dead. As people pointed out you see the pink dart coming out the of explosion. My prediction is that Warwick had one final moment as "Vander" and tossed Jinx away before the explosion which is why we see the pink line of her being thrown. This is prime for an amnesia arc for Jinx. Either that or she sailed away in the blimp because she felt like reuniting with Vi would only cause more trouble for her in the end.

I did watch the interview when he uploaded it so I now know it’s canon, which makes me very happy. Also because he didn’t confirm anyone’s death and their fates are all up in the air. The only one I think is dead that is a character in League is Ambessa but we didn’t get a clear awnser for that either so they might do something where she gets revived in Noxus because they will probably transport her body back for burial.

it's 100% canon. watch Necrit's interview with Chirstian Luke, co-creator and showrunner. When asked about Jayce and Viktor's death and about champions in general dying in the league TV shows he says and I paraphrase: "Well, do you want a real story? If you do then champions have to be able to die"

I have an amazing idea! Would you guys like to react to some of the shows most iconic scenes in different languages? There are a bunch of videos like that on YouTube and I’d find it very interesting to see your reactions to them.

I think you nailed it on the head.

Either way, I'm really glad that this show existed. The fact that it almost got cancelled, then renewed for multiple seasons, is amazing. The soundtrack, sound design, animation, voice acting were all phenomenal. Really glad to have rewatched this with you two ❤️

I believe that Jinx isn't dead for four reasons. 1. We see a pink shimmer streak during the explosion. We can assume Vi missed it because she was crying fully believing she just Watcher her sister sacrifice her life for hers. 2. Caitlyn looks at the hextech gate schematics, then focuses on the vents. I believe she knows or at least high suspicion that Jinx survived. 3. The white blimp at the end of episode is a callback to S1e1 when she says one day she'll ride one of those. 4. She is finally able to, as Silco advised her, to break the cycle by walking away. I believe she didn't tell Vi on purpose so Vi could live her life w Caitlyn and Vi wouldn't spend the rest of her life chasing after Jinx.

Vital Vein is my new favorite medical term lmao

I don’t know it feels like when they said it’s going to be canon they didn’t know which way the show was heading and now it feels like they might backtrack on their word. I wouldn’t put it past Riot with how many times the lore has been rewritten. At the very least they should update the character bios on their website if it is indeed canon.

Jacob Christoffersson

It is official, it's canon. I think they're just representing champs as snapshots in time. After all, league itself isn't canon. u've got gods fighting against regular people. So Ambessa died but is still a champ in the game. Viktor seems to have been redeemed but he will be updated in the game as his final form from here, or even Warwick, etc.

Daniel Duarte

Yeah, they should've Sasuke'd Jinx. And since it seems she's alive, I'm pretty certain that's what they're gonna do if she does reappear in future works - a redemption arc.

stedeu

I wanted this to be the official lore for League so bad but it seems unlikely now when Victor, Jayce and Ambessa are seemingly dead.

Jacob Christoffersson

Yes and when Caitlyn is looking at the drawings for the Hexgates she is holding a part of Jinx’s grenade and she sees that there are air vents leading out the sides and she smiles because that is probably where she found the grenade part. So Caitlyn probably realized that she most likely survived but Jinx wants her sister to live in happiness without worrying about her.

Jacob Christoffersson

For the Jinx dying part, I believe she didn't actually die since you can see at the explosion with Warwick there's a pink dart shooting out before the actual explosion and the ending scene with the flying "airship" is a reference to the 1st episode where Jinx mentions it for a ride like some people already pointed it out. I think they left it for everyone's personal interpretation just like Inception/Shutter Island movies :) I personally don't think there will be any aftermath viewing after a new series or a new show starts, I think it will revolve around Noxus/Ionia and the involvement of the Black Rose/Blood magic tribes/guilds etc. I won't point out obvious characters that they might include but that' so far in the future if it actually happens everything is just a speculation obviously.

Look at the explosion again closely..

I like the fact that it did not have a lot of closure because it leaves things open for interpretation. Just like with Jinx's death OR survival. If there was an additional episode or movie we would have our answer and wouldn't think about it another second. Also I don't think Jinx's survival would make her "sacrifice" abundant. It shows again how strong the bond is between the two sisters and I just think it's the better end to her character. She is officially dead, Caitlyn can rest easy again and doesn't have to lock up her lover's sister, which opens up the possibility of a future with Vi. Because although she did a lot of good in the end, there is no way she wouldn't go to jail for the rest of her life.

This is how I see Jinx's death: She died atoning for what she did to Vander back in season 1 by dying with him. She also had come full circle by accepting her true self. Her and Vi's relationship was pretty much at the best spot it could be without it feeling like some Disney sunshine and rainbows stuff. This is the inverse of what Ekko saw as well. Powder died with Vi staying alive in this universe. Her character felt complete. Now, there are hints that she is still alive, as the airship was something she said she wanted to ride back in season 1. Also, Cait seems to have a feeling that she survived as you said. Personally, I do feel like it would make her death scene pointless and kind of ruin that aspect of the finale. No matter what, her line of "always with you sis" would be true in death, another universe, or her being on the other side of the world. We'll see how they treat this as I'm sure there will be interviews and future content that will continue certain things. A lot of people were upset that so many plot points were introduced but not finished up, but I expected that. It allows them to do what they plan to do with this multiverse concept. All in all, the series is a solid 9/10 for me. Something akin to AOT and Edgerunners where you can watch multiple times and have a blast. Great reactions guys and here's to the future!

From what I can tell arcane will have spinoffs, but this story is done. I don't think we'll get full closure unless this arcane movie actually happens and decides to. The crow with 3 eyes belongs to Swain (or it should) so the next spinoff should be noxus. Mel will probably be the Nick Furry.
