I'm probably posting this a bit late and you may not see it, but the reason none of the prisoners said anything in episode 4 during the prison break was because the animators wanted to honor the voice actress for Babette, the yordle woman with the big red hair and makeup who ran the brothel in season 1. She had sadly passed away shortly before the season 1 premier.

2024-11-18 15:22:22 +0000 UTCmy take on Caitlyns turn is this: a bit abrupt, but it makes total sense to me and here's why: caitlyns entire vengeance arc was all about the loss of her mother and how she let it consume her and how much she was hurting. If Vi tells her that she has a chance to save her dad, and that dad is the creature noxus is trying to hunt down, then she has to do whatever it takes for Vi not to lose him again because she loves her and she knows what losing a parent is like now. Besides that there were clear hints all throughout act 2 that she was butting heads with ambessa and wanted to go for a much more peaceful route, especially since its been half a year now and her revenge feelings have mellowed

It also is not clear that Viktor's disciples, for lack of a better word, were in pain when Viktor died. For all we know it could have just been the Arcane speaking through them vocally in some manner.

It was Salo who said he will keep their conversation secret, that wasnt Viktor making a statement. Zombies or puppets dont act like that. And when Jayce "kills" viktor and sever connection with the rest of them they dont just fall down dead like the puppet strings are cut off, they are actually in pain and hurting. Feeling pain (feeling emotions) and clearly alive. They are suffering drawbacks from separation. More importantly the whole focus on viktor storyline in this act same as whole season 1 is about his desire to save humanity. to cure diseases, to make pain go away. "you dont need to suffer anymore". Humanity is one thing he tries to preserve which is why the last scene where he comes to realization about humanity being the cause of all the suffering is so brilliant and heartbreaking. You take away big part of his character development by saying he was just turning people into zombies

Black rose / mel and ambessa/singed storylines are going to be just a setup for next show. I also feel like they are setting this up so that mel becomes champion in game around time they start releasing the new show

Salo was not a puppet as he was in control of his body and he had free will. it was Salo who said he will keep that conversation secret. it wasnt Viktor who said "dont worry jayce salo cant speak". The point of this 2nd act is to show how much viktor value humanity and it is because they werent puppets that last scene with viktor is so impactful when he finally comes to realization humanity he tries to save so much is very reason for all the bad stuff he is trying to prevent. BY stating these people were just puppets or zombies or whatever term people wanna use is literally taking away the major part of viktors plotline and character development. People getting blinded by what they know is coming and fail to see what is happening

I think next 3 episodes gonna focus more on victor and jayce and glorious evolution and finish the piltover plot and ambessa/singer/mel/black rose stuff will remain unresolved and tease next project that will focus on noxus

I'm a little torn on whether I'd like another character-driven series like this (where we'd basically focus on just Noxus and the characters in there) or a lore-driven series where we'd focus on Runeterra as a whole and the forces at play there. Now I do know that Ryze is born in Noxus, or at least the land which would be called Noxus, so it would be very cool if we went way back to that time period with Ryze learning about the World Runes, which would connect it to Arcane as well and we could fast-forward through time with Ryze and Noxus showing us the Rune Wars where the World Runes were being used to wage war. Basically going the middle route of both character-driven and lore-driven. Now that I think about it, that would be kind of sick and would still be loosely connected to Arcane.

But I think the hard part of reactors and just mentality of the current generation of people is they want a pay off now. Jayce saw the future and what Viktor was doing is terrible, that’s why he kept saying “I’m not gonna fail.”

In fact, the fact that the series is ending in 3 more episodes seems crazy to me, as I feel like there's way too much ground to cover still. Remember, we still have the Mel/Black Rose storyline, the Ekko/Heimerdinger conundrum, and we don't even really know what the Arcane is, how it functions, what it did to Jayce to make him turn on Viktor kind of heartlessly. And then we have the rest of the cast of characters and how they're moving on from this moment. Ambessa, Caitlyn, Vi, Jinx, Warwick, Singed. There's like 9-ish characters storylines that need to be wrapped up on top of the whole overarching thing about the Arcane and what happens to Zaun and Piltover now. Honestly at this point I feel like we did actually need 3 seasons. I thought I was fine with 2 seasons, and maybe the last 3 episodes will prove me right, but unfortunately right now I feel like a lot of stuff will remain unresolved. Or maybe they're leaving some of it open for the next series? Although the writers did say that the story would be complete.. I get that they didn't want to drag it out, but right now it feels like 3 seasons wouldn't be dragging it out at all, it would just leave some breathing room for the viewers to process what's even happening in the story. EDIT: I will say, I hope Ryze will be in whatever Riot Games series we get next (if he doesn't get a mention in this final arc). He should tie into some of the Arcane stuff at least, since him and Heimerdinger have seen the same thing happen (with the fiery magicy flashback Heimerdinger had, Ryze was present for that). And he travels around the world, since he's kind of a semi-main character for the magic part of LoL in a way, so we could see him visit some of these characters. I can definitely see them going that route.

Especially with the team ups and betrayals, characters seem like they are flip flopping a little too quickly and coulda used a little more development... Sevika forgiving and becoming buddies with jinx. Vi forgiving jinx... Cait betraying ambessa and teaming up with vi and jinx (seems like she shoulda gave vi an ultimatum of: give me jinx and i'll help you protect vander" or some such woulda made more sense for her, No?). Victor leaving jayce dramatically but then deciding actually hex core is great, Jayce come see. Each of these felt a bit jarring to me. I do really love the turn for jayce. Hes always felt a little boring to me and i love this for him. Depending on how they explain it in the last arc of course. And I really worry about how they are gonna land this plane and tie everything up in a satisfying way in the final arc. We didn't even see heimerdinger or ekko this arc and have to find out what happened to them and jayce in the other plane or whatever and tie them back in. And Mel and the black rose storyline feels Like it's quite a ways removed from the rest of the story and would need a lot of development. And *mild spoilers from game character*: Victor still doesn't fully resemble his game character, so pretty sure there's still quite a bit more to do with him *end spoilers* And doing Isha like that pisses me off. the parrallels fit the "cycle of violence" theme the show has going,I get it, but it feels a little cheap to introduce the disabled orphan girl to humanize jinx and then kill her off after a couple eps just to twist the knife.

She was constantly pushing back against Ambessa's ways. The only reason Caitlyn was working along with Ambessa is because it was also beneficial for Caitlyn herself; giving her some support in her new role (which she was technically groomed into by Ambessa as well).

So i dont think the reunion was very forced althoug i have to agree that they couldve brought more light into that (also in the teaser for the final act you could see vi blaming caitlyn for the actions she has done to the people in the undercity, so i dont think that their relationship is completely fine)

I think given the context people's reactions and opinions are validated. Coloring the hair blue, Seeing jinx openly say Isha reminds her of powder and then seeing Isha watch everything from the sidelines and thinking "i can help" the same way Jinx did in episode 3 of season 1 and then stuffs 3 gemstones in the gun (the same way Jinx stuffed 3 gemstones inside the monkey toy)... it really feels like there is lot of paralels between ending of s1e3 and s2e6 with how powder (jinx) caused "death" of Vander and killing everyone in process and now powder (Isha) sacrifices herself causing "death" of vander again and well, we dont know if she ends up killing everyone or save everyone. cant wait next week

I knew the creators made her for us to love, only to rip her away. I also dont think this is the last were seeing of Viktor, there a lot of litteral Jesus paralels here, he rocks up, performs miracles, takes everyones pain, and then he dies with it. But Sky also died, but she was right there with Viktor in the arcane. I think while Vik's body may be destroyed by Jayce, his soul is not, and he'll inhabit a mechanical body more akin to the one we see in LoL. And lastly, while Jayce is clealy having some troubles due to what he went to in that arcane singularity, I think him killing Viktor was actually the right thing to do, i'm not sure yet as to why, but I feel it's gonna turn out to be a good thing to sever Vik from all those people and stopping him from turning more.

2024-11-16 23:58:44 +0000 UTCIn episode 6, you guys touch on that the ending was so abrupt and the pacing was too fast. we see that for the most part in act 2, for episode 4 and 5, half of 6, the pacing is very smooth and every scenario and situation is explained very clearly. I believe that this also represents jinx's sanity, and how Isha came to her life and everything felt so much better, as in her own words 'put on glasses', and at the second half when the conflict actually happened, it was so abrupt and shocking. This could represents the abruptness of how Isha came to her life and left, she quite literally fell from the sky and bring happiness to her. Then ripped away when she didn't expected it the most. (like how viewers didnt expected it would happened like this)

I also believe she saw the blue like you said in ep4 but i think in that moment she saw opportunity. Her goal is to weaponize hextech and use it for her goals in noxus. If they find jinx and win the war odds are piltover have no reason to weaponize hextech anymore. SO Ambessa want war to go on for as long as it takes for her to get what she wants which is weapon that she can use against her own (noxus) enemies. But i also think she just assumed guard she saw is just a random jinxer not jinx herself and her plan was to let the jinxers play out their heist so she can stop them and then use the prison break as justification and incentive for weaponizing hextech. Granted scientists able to do that are missing but that doesnt mean she should just fix all the problems that she hopes weapons she wants will solve
